Though the elevator is not working it was easy to navigate our handcarry bag back to the main floor where there's a clean sitting area to wait for the airport shuttle. Unlike most other reviews on here I am not reviewing based on any one particular experience. I've been parking here pretty consistently for the last 6 months and the following has been true for all of those 6 months. Yes the garage is dirty and dated and the shuttle drivers are a little aggressive on the road. Those things don't really bother me. What made me switch to the garage across the street was how abysmally long the shuttle takes. They only run ONE shuttle at a time and if you miss it by a couple minutes then you WILL be waiting for between 30 and 40 minutes just to be picked up. Just to be shuttled a distance that's probably less than two miles. Yes this is the cheapest airport parking by a small margin but it is the worst airport parking by a large margin. Giving an extra star on the rating because I've never had a bad interaction with any of the on-site employees--none of the issues are their fault, that's all on the owner/manager. read more

I have been using LAP for some 20 years and historically have been very satisfied. For the last two years, service and conditions have been deteriorating and last month we had a terrible (and final) experience. When we got to the facility, we found that the elevator is still out of service (has been this way for some time--have to wonder if they ever plan to repair it?). Parking spaces have always been super narrow, but the only open spaces left were those in which a neighboring car was parked over the line making the space even smaller. The garage was also dark as it seemed many lights were not functioning. Shuttle to the airport was crowded, but got there timely. Return flight landed at 11:00 pm. Called LAP--no answer. Continued to call both numbers on the ticket for 12 minutes until they finally picked up. They said they were on their way. 20 minutes later they had not arrived, so I called again. They repeated they were on their way. 10 minutes later, they finally arrived. By then the number of riders had grown and after everyone had shoved their way in front of us, all the seats were taken. The driver said we would need to wait until he took this group and would come back to get us. Seriously? Another 30 minutes? We grabbed a taxi to take us to the LAP parking garage. We got back to the garage, walked up the stairs (elevator was still out, of course) to get the car, drove back down to load our bags and explained to the attendant our frustration over the long delay with the shuttle and asked if he could provide a discount to help offset the cost of the taxi we had to take. He laughed and said we should have just waited for the shuttle to return. Last straw. Their attitude was even worse than their service or the condition of the parking lot. DO NOT PARK HERE!!! ITS CHEAP FOR A REASON! when we arrived we were told the elevators were broken and we had to walk back from the parking spot! I thought they were joking, NOPE they weren't, my mom has a bad knee so I had to unload the car and drive UP 4 levels & run back down. They didn't offer to drive up to with there van, there was no other customer waiting so they could have but chose not to. the van that drove us smelt like homeless people were living in it and the seatbelts didn't buckle. When we returned and trying to exit they said we owed $60 yep when this was a prepaid reservation ok and we were leaving 3 hrs early then then the reserved time they said the guy that checked us in wrote down that we were booked for 2 days, i showed them the paid reservation that proved we booked for the right days they kept saying we owed $60. I was so confused I lost some brain cells trying to figure out why there was any confusion the manager and the girl in the parking booth were yelling and were so rude after calling the cops and waiting for 45 minutes they called somebody and finally let us out! total shit show DO NOT PARK HERE!! read more

Whatever you do...DO NOT PARK HERE! The driver for our shuttle was very nice and kind. The attendee at the booth however was not. I had a 7 day parking pass from 7:30pm to 7:30 pm. Our flight was delayed and we arrived around 9:07 and with the hour and a half difference he charged us a full day of $20. Elevator was not working so had to go up 4 floors. I paid for Valet but had to park my own car and go up and down these stairs that were very sketchy. What is the definition of a Valet here? Horrible service. read more

Not a bad place to park your vehicle. It's just a few issues they need to work on. They need more than one staff driving those vans. The parking structure is not far from the airport. Waited for almost 40 minutes for them to pick me up. Maybe cause of traffic. Who knows?! Anyhow? Randy was the one who picked me and another couple up from the airport. I let him know that I was parked all the way at the rooftop. So he offered to take me all the way up there since he was driving the smaller van. He also drove the other couple to their vehicle. He's really nice and awesome. Also, they do need to hurry and fix the elevators. It's been broken since who knows when. I've always use this parking lot every three months as I am always traveling. It's cheap and convenient and they do take you to the airport and pick you up when you get back. Just some stuff need to change. read more

Prices are decent but much to improve upon... 1. Elevator not working when I arrived, nor when I returned 5 days later. 2. Parking spaces are very narrow. 3. You have to wait a really long time for pick up. When I returned, I called for pick up and they arrived 48 minutes later. Aladdin had cycled through 5 times by that point, WallyPark had come 3 times, Sheraton had come twice, SD Flyer came 3 times, along with many others. Laurel tells you it'll be 20-30 minutes for pick up, but I waited more than 30 mins and that makes a really big difference in afternoon traffic. I called at 1:55pm and they arrived at 2:43pm. 4. The structure is really dark and dirty. The waiting area on the first floor of the parking structure has dirty, stained furniture. 5. The "shuttle" is just a van that holds 5-6 passengers, which obviously doesn't work if you have a bigger party traveling. I wish I had spent a few more bucks and parked elsewhere. DONT EVEN BUY THE GROUPON. Arrived Saturday morning to a half-asleep parking attendant. Waited 20 minutes for someone to emerge from an office to drive the shuttle to the airport, despite us being the only customers. The shuttle reeked of weed. We were told NO SELF PARKING SPOTS AVAILABLE--only valet. Perfect start to catching a flight. Returning to San Diego, we waited 45 minutes for a packed shuttle - ALREADY FULL OF PEOPLE. The driver suggested part of our group of five squeeze in the back next to luggage, or wait another 30 minutes. DO NOT park at Laurel Airport Parking. First of all, the elevator is alway broken, you have to climb up to the 5th floor with its dirty stairway with your own luggages. Secondly, you have to wait a long time at the airport before the shuttle shows up, about 30 minutes. I noticed all of nearby airport parking lots shuttles showed up to pickup their customers twice while the Laurel airport shuttle hadn't arrive. Lastly, Laurel airport parking ADDs extra $6 airport fee on the top of parking fee. when I first came in, I asked the parking lot attendant what is $6 airport fee. He said I just need to pay the parking fee multiply for number of days park there. Then when I drove the car off the lot, the parking lot cashier changed me extra $6 on the top of the parking fee as so called "the Airport fee". They weren't honest to their customers. Really disappointed in this place. I paid for covered valet parking but this definitely wasn't it. Came back from my trip and was handed my keys. They told me my car was on the 6th floor and that their elevator was out of service, then pointed me in the direction of the stairs. After walking 6 flights of stairs with my luggage in tow, the spot where my car was supposed to be was empty... I got lucky and it was only 2 spaces over and not lost on another floor, considering they were keeping tabs on a sticky note and separate valet ticket. Based on the reviews, we possibly just got lucky the weekend we parked here. Found this place on spot hero..we got a good deal $50 for 3 days. The garage is not the closest to the airport so we were glad they had a free shuttle. We parked on level 4. The shuttle van followed us up. The elevator was broken so he followed us before picking up the other guests to drive us to the airport. The shuttle is an old mini van that fits 6 if we all have minimal luggage. Seatbelts were not all functioning. The parking spaces here are super TIGHT. Luckily we didn't come back to scratches and dents. Watch out when turning the corners going up to the next level. It's hard to see and cars come flying down/up the corners. The shuttle van drivers were friendly. They told us when we return, call for pick up RIGHT when we exit the plane because they will most likely be delayed. Unfortunately your call doesn't guarantee you'll be picked up in the order of when you call. STAND TOWARDS THE ENTRANCE of the pick up area where the cars first drive in..or they will pick up other Laurel Airport Parking customers that flag them down first. **Make sure to screenshot the Spot hero confirmation/bar code..there is NO cell reception pulling into the parking garage and they don't have any information on their end to look up reservation without the barcode. read more

Shuttle was a filthy mini van. When we returned a week later, I called for a shuttle when we were at baggage claim at eight pm. Sent a driver, but his shuttle was full and told my husband they would send another car. The second car was a Toyota suv that drove right past us and already had people in the car. We called again and they told us to take an Uber. We waited a total of 90 minutes for a shuttle that never returned, spent $20 on an Uber to drive less than two miles to the parking garage. My husband and I were very angry at this point and yelled at the parking attendant and were told "we're the cheapest place in town and you expect service?!?" We were also told the shuttle is a courtesy. The attendant was calm and refused to reimburse our Uber fare. Some random guy who worked for Laurel then called us liars and told us we were never at the shuttle pick up location. When we asked if he was there he said no, at that point my husband called him a liar and this rando wanted to start a fight with my husband. The gate attendant had to push the hothead away from the situation. At that point we decided to just get the car and leave that mess. When we got upstairs other cars were parked so closely that my husband would not get into the car so I had to climb in. I'm small and barely fit. How is a business allowed to stay open that has multiple parking levels and an elevator that doesn't work. There has to be safety concerns and I was told it has been broken for at least two months and the owner chooses not to repair it. Very disappointing and frustrating when I had to park on the 6th level (top level) and walk down each level and almost hit by a car. And the stairway wasn't open to get me down to the bottom safely, it was closed off. How can the city of San Diego allow a business that specializes in parking with multiple levels allow this. Elevator is broken, 6 floor walk up. Wall is crumbling, took forever to get picked up from the airport. When I asked them about the broken elevator the man said "we don't own the building we just rent it." It's just sad that this place is in such disrepair. We waited an hour for them to pick us up at the airport, even though they told us when we called that someone would come pick us up immediately. (We arrived at 11am) I finally called to complain and was told that these shuttles were free complimentary shuttles for us to use (like we should be thankful for this extra service...), and that we could have called an Uber instead to get us there if we wanted quicker service. I responded that if I'd known that we would have to wait an hour, we would have called an Uber, or walked there because it would have got us there sooner. Absolutely horrible service. Beware!!! This airport parking is the worst I've ever experienced. The elevator is broken. I had to walk down 6 flights of stairs with luggage. There was no one in the booth when I checked in. The bathroom was atrocious. There was no communication or customer service I stood at the shuttle area for 20 mins. Several employees walking around but no one communicating with me to tell me they were in the middle of a shift change. So while im freaking out internally about making it to the airport timely they couldn't care less. When I said excuse to ask about when the shuttle would be leaving the employee got extremely rude to me. I was just trying to figure out when the shuttle was leaving or if I needed to call an Uber. Aldo was his name. He does not belong dealing with customers if he doesn't know how to communicate well and provide excellent service. The guy in the booth was nice. I'm going to be honest, my review is rated high only because of Randy. He is the absolute best and the best thing at Laurel parking. I picked this place because online it said the shuttles were wheelchair accessible. That is a lie. My mom had to be assisted to step in the van by several customers taking the shuttle and Randy. She has very bad knees and it was difficult to get in the van, but Randy was so patient and helpful. Plus, he helped load our car and helped my husband get the luggage in our car. The price is reasonable compared to other parking places. when we got back from our trip I called them to let them know we were ready to be picked up and they arrived within 10 minutes. I want to report a dangerous shuttle driver that works at Laurel Airport parking. This driver picked us up at San Diego Airport on Dec 15, 9:30pm. On the first traffic light he started to watch some videos on his phone and then continued to do the same while driving. My wife asked him to put his phone away as he's responsible for safety while driving. The guys got angry in a second, pushed accelerator hard and drove like a crazy almost causing a collision 2 times and run a red light. Then he stopped the car near the parking garage and told us "get out of the car". I reported him right way to the person that let cars in and out of the parking garage, but she couldn't do anything. Just gave me a customer service phone that appears to be out of service. Please be aware of this driver. This is not acceptable. He is a Chinese guy, driving a Toyota Sienna 8VEM419. I used this place because of the great reviews they had on the WAY app. I want to give both of these companies 1 star. Laurel because of the condition of their facility - extremely small parking spaces, elevator that has been broken for months - had to carry luggage down 7 stories! As far as the WAY app, do not believe any of the reviews you find on their app! They have all 5 star reviews for this place. If you look closely, they are from a couple of weeks ago or 1 month, nothing older or newer. Since my experience a couple of weeks ago, I was asked for a review. I have yet to see it published on their site. They have responded when I sent them a direct email with my concerns. They said it was elevated and under review.
