If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. I arrived at the shop at 5:40 PM on a Monday to have a key made for my Mazda CX-30. Upon arrival, I was told that I could not have my key made because the lady who works there was meeting with family soon and she wouldn't be able to stay and resolve my issues, despite having spoken with my wife about the fact that I was arriving when I did AND her hours posted said that she worked until 6 PM. She never mentioned to my wife that she had to leave early, and I was made even more frustrated when, after I was told that she would have to leave early, she proceeded to stay around the property and chat with someone she had just had in her building and her driver right outside her entrance. It is evident by the amount of positive reviews I see for this business that I am clearly in the minority, but what I experienced today was terrible customer service and a gross lack of communication between business and client. I felt dismissed and disrespected, and would not recommend this business for anyone looking to have a key made. Go to an authorized dealer, you might spend more, but you won't have to put up with the terrible customer service I just experienced today. read more

Got a key stuck in the lock. All the normal DIY techniques- pressing the cap, aligning the cylinder, presenting a sacred ianual to Janus God of Doorways- had failed to get it loose. Blindly yanking on it with pliers seemed like a great way to make things worse, so I took the knob off the door and went looking for a professional.. Diana didn't just get the key out, she explained WHY all the normal techniques failed (it's a quirk of the brand/design). And suggested ways to keep it from happening again. She was also super-COVID-safe. She met me outside her storefront, and kept six feet away as much as possible. Excellent service. They even came to my residence more than once after I messed up on the date. I'd recommend this business. The ONLY thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the fact that the pricing fluctuated during installation without first giving me a breakdown of the charges. Granted, while installing the locks I was told things like "a screw is missing" or "this lock gets a bit stuck" and even that one of the knobs was actually broken and needed to be replaced but I didn't realize at the end it would cost close to $300 when all was said and done. While I cannot fully blame them since I agreed to fix what they mentioned and assumed most were minor issues, just make sure that after getting a price quote over the phone, you ask for the charges again during installation if something comes up. Even if it seems minor, it can quickly balloon the fee. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Basically kept giving me the run around an entire day saying she'd make my key only to continue saying she didn't get to it. She tried to say it's because I gave her the information late but then said she'd be at the shop between 5-7. I arrived at 6 only for her to tell me she hasn't even started it & was leaving the shop in 15 mins & that she will "try" to do it But was going out of town so wasn't sure & she mentioned honestly making her money on doing remote services rather than in shop so if you need a simple key made and go to the shop or your job isn't a few hundred just know you will NOT BE VALUED AS A CUSTOMER. I went elsewhere to get my key made which was WAY lower than her price anyway. Very frustrating. Note to owner: if you don't value business let it be known upfront rather than having someone rely on you. I was rekeying my home locks and accidentally sprung the last cylinder. No locksmith I tried calling was open. Finally, I called Laurel's to see if they could help repair it. I was told, of course! A quick drive over and the owner was super helpful in showing me where I screwed up. She reset the lock and finished the rekey in about five minutes, no charge. Couldn't recommend this place enough.. Diana gets the job done for your car keys copied (with sensors).. Yeah the house smells like smoke, which isn't pleasant, but the cat is really friendly and will take your mind off that. The only car she told me she can't replicate keys for is a Benz, but other than that if you need to make a spare key of your car, bring it here! Her prices will surely beat your dealership or even Home Depot (who won't even do this right, I've heard horror stories of people trying to get this done at Home Depot) I dropped in to get a copy of my spare key of my 2001 Lexus RX 300 (my original key broke and I lost the actual key but still had the remote censor) This is normally a pretty risky practice I hear because you want to have the original key if you want to get it copied so it will be more precise, but Diana didn't fail me. She took her time as I realized it isn't easy what she was doing, but after about 15 minutes she got the job done. She won't let you leave the place unless she knows it will work as she went out to my car in the rain and tested it herself several times to make sure it worked. This was for $50, which believe me is cheap for this kind of work. Last thing about this place that is great is the hours. I would normally have to leave work early to go to a place like this, but I'm pretty sure she stays open until 10 pm on week nights, making it really convenient for me to come by after work. read more

If you've had the misfortune of a lock out, do not hesitate to use this company! I could not have asked for a better experience. I just have a key fob, that supposedly will not lock itself inside the car... however today, after never having an issue for 2 years, it decided to play games I guess... "I" locked my keys, wallet and phone in my running car this morning and Diana was here within 40 minutes to the rescue! She was beyond kind and extremely fast. Should have called them first! My neighbor recommended Laurel's Lock Shop for repairs to some antique door hardware we had in common. I decided to call another locksmith to come look at my situation. After two and a half hours(and charging me for those hours) - the locksmith couldn't resolve the issue and suggested I just replace the antique with new hardware. That night I called Laurel's Lock Shop and they agreed to come take a look at my door when they had a chance (I don't live close) They called me the next day and made arrangements to meet me. Diane strikes again!!! I seriously cannot rave enough about this wonderful, hard working human being. I seriously, if it wasn't creepy, would give her a hug every time I utilize her services. She changed out my door lock to a regular knob. I'm moving in a crunch and waited very last minute to do last minute alterations to the house. She came an hour early than she quoted and was done doing the job in less than 10min. I'm so busy, I allowed her to lead herself around my house to change out the locks. She quoted me but honestly, I wasn't even listening bc I knew she would give me not only a fair price but a discount. And looking at the transaction statement, she sure did both, again.
