My grandson and I are visiting from California and we are always looking for fun indoor play areas. This place did not disappoint! It's huge, with lots of great climbing areas, tunnels, and slides. I can't forget the trampoline area, which is also huge. We arrived at around 6:00 pm on a Wednesday and we almost had the place to ourselves. All of the employees were friendly and helpful. My kid had the best day ever here. We were very surprised how clean and safe everything was. And so many things to do! It's not the cheapest as parents pay same admission as kids, but it's worth it. Mom and Dad had a blast too. Although it might be better for kids 5+ , our kid is very big and fairly adventurous for a three year old and was able to do almost everything there, even the big slides. We took our children here for a birthday party. They have one person working the counter at a check-in rush trying to get multiple people settled a child's party. Plus, the company expects the parents to pay additional fees just to stand around. We are not participating and we have to pay, to get in to watch our children play. WHAT?! If I'm paying to stand and watch my children play, why do they only have one person working at the counter? This is very frustrating and the party just started folks. read more

This is clearly for younger children (not 10+). They charged adults to enter too, even if they aren't going to do anything. $75 for 2 ~10 year olds and 1 adult. Go to Urban Air if you have older kids and want to stay with them. Also, bring drinks. On the plus side - it was new and clean. read more

Spent 3 hours at LAVA Island with my 6 year old and she didn't want to leave! Pizza was shockingly good. They have a great mix of several distinct play areas which kids can explore for a long time and not get bored. I have not been here before so did not know what to expect. Charging adults is ridiculous; I wanted to walk out, but my kids were so excited to come. The only reason I'm giving this place a 3* instead of 1* is because of the fun we had. They offer a lot of different activities, and I appreciate how big it is. Even when it gets really busy, you don't feel like it's too chaotic, like you do with Candeeland. We had a blast for my 6 year olds birthday with just the family. The 1* comes from the cafe staff. The customer service here is really terrible. If I go somewhere like McDonald's, I'm not going to expect 5* service. And while, I know this is a kids place and not a fancy restaurant, the staff could have actually done their job. They were too busy talking to each other instead of helping anyone. When we did finally get helped, we ordered two items (pepperoni pizza and chicken tenders), they both came out wrong. They made a cheese pizza and refused to give us pepperoni on the side. They said we would have to order and pay for a new pizza. And they gave us Dino nuggets instead of chicken tenders. We did find someone who actually helped trade those out. Then I ordered ice cream two different times. They were prepared by two different people. The first one was great and actually filled the cup with a swirl. The second (person who refused to remake pizza or give pepperonis) put the tiniest amount of ice cream in the cup, like a pathetic amount. At least have some consistency. read more

As an adult who is waiting while my kids are running wild in the facility, I see zero reason for me to be charged for entrance. I was charged $13 to sit at the snack bar and write this review. This is clearly a scam for some extra $$. Nicely done Lava Island! read more

I had an excellent experience at this Venue! First time being at this location and I have nothing but great things to say about the facility and the staff! The environment was exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully organized (as there seemed to be sufficient associates available) All associates I dealt with were very courteous and attentive! Their positive attitudes and commitment to safety were evident throughout our time there. After speaking to an L.I. associate in reference to an issue I needed assistance with, Manager 'Adam' not only accommodated us but went above and beyond! The associates along with Mr. Adam's expertise and professionalism made the visit seamless and stress-free! We will definitely be coming back to this location! I came with my 71-year-old father and (adult) sister to hang out and watch our nephew play. We had to turn around because they want $20 per adult... just to sit in a crappy chair and watch a kid on a playground? This was not the kind of experience that provides $80 worth of value, especially with only one child involved. I sure would love to know what management is smoking, though! read more

Charging adults full price to enter is ridiculous. They can claim it's because lava island is for everyone, but it's clearly a money grab. Will not return for that reason. Candeeland or Urban Air does not charge for adults, will be spending my money there. read more

First time coming here because the kids have been asking for a while. Age range from 8-12 years. Definitely old enough to not need me right there with them. Had to pay the same $20 entrance fee to just watch them....I am not about to use the equipment with my big ass and risk breaking a bone!!! Total waste of money. They need to seriously reconsider charging grown ups who are just coming to supervise. BTW, since it is more for younger kids, the older ones were ready to go pretty quickly. read more

I took my 5-year-old granddaughter today and thought it was incredible. I see mixed reviews on this thread. One factor people mention is pricing. It is $20 for a kid but that is for an all-day pass. In comparison, we also take her to Kids Space which is $16 but for 3 hours. And there is no question LI is superior in terms of size/variety/cleanliness/quality, amenities. Sure the adult pays too but I get a 20% "over 59" discount, plus engage with her on the trampolines, etc. $36 for the 4 hours we spent was a rocking bargain IMO. My 2 cents, opinions vary! read more

Checking in took forever. My two grandchildren got wrist bands but I did not. No way to identify my grandchildren were with me. When we left, no one at the exit and no one stopped me from taking two little kids out the door! The only thing that kept from giving 1 star was the fun the kids had. read more

The management here has terrible guest service skills. They are too busy on their phones to make sure that the trash cans are emptied and counters and tables are clean. When I asked them to please clean the table they "would get to it" and never did. I asked to speak to the manager but he took 15 minutes to come to listen to my concerns, clearly he was not interested so I asked for a phone number for his manager. He declined to give one because" they are a small business and are not allowed to give out numbers of Lava Land. The pizza was good and the kids working the front desk were friendly but the Englewood Location was terrible!! The management team should be given training on guest service and cleanliness.
