    Gyro plate to go

I came to Lavash for a quick meal before work. I ordered the gyro plate togo and it was prepared fresh to order. The rice serving was abundant. The meat and sides were good. Lavash expands on the typical middle eastern street food by doing beef and salmon as well.

After a gym session and a Target trip, my boyfriend and I were hungry. We were going to go to Aviva, but realized they're closed on Sundays. Wanting a similar genre of food, I searched the internet for places near us. Up popped Lavash, so we decided to give it a try. The unassuming restaurant is situated at the Chevron gas station. Don't let that detract you! When you step inside, you order at the counter. The girl taking our order was polite, and the service was quick. My boyfriend and I shared an appetizer sampler to start (small portion of hummus, labneh, dolmeh, and babaghanoush). Everything was done so well. The hummus was thick and flavorful, the labneh was (wal)nutty and creamy, the grape leaves were tangy and earthy, and the baba ghanoush was smoky and rich. For my meal, I got the salmon wrap (served with house seasoning, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and tzatziki sauce), and my boyfriend got the grilled salmon plate entre (salmon filet marinated with house special season, served with basmati rice, grilled tomatoes, onion, lemon, and a side of tzatziki sauce). The salmon was cooked to perfection--perfectly moist and seasoned nicely. Everything tasted fresh and yummy! We will be back!

On my roadtrip, we stopped in Atlanta. While in ATL we came across @thelavashgrill, and it did not disappoint. In a small strip, next to a gas station is this small restaurant with few seating inside primarily a to-go spot. we ordered multiple items including Gyro's, Chicken Shawarma, Koobideh, Chenjeh, Beef Soltani and Lentil Soup. each entree comes with Rice, grilled veggies and tzitziki sauce. I enjoyed many of the items we had ordered, my favorite would have to be the Chenjeh Kabobs, perfectly marinated steak bites, so tender and juicy. another item that I enjoyed was the Chicken Shawarma, again another item which was perfectly marinated and very flavorful. #food #foodphotography #foodporn #foodgasm #foodiesofinstagram #foodpic #foodbloggers #globalfood #globaleats #globalfoodie #internationalfoodie #internationalfoodieschat #foodiesinternationalchat #thefoodieinitiative #foodblogger #foodlover #foodies #foodpics #forkyeahfoodies #internationalcuisinefamily #fooodexplorertribe #halalfoodie #halal #htxfoodie

This review is for takeout only. We placed an order over the phone on a Monday night and it was ready in only 15 minutes! Lavash is attached to a gas station, but don't let that dissuade you from ordering! The food was great! Here's what we got: - Hummus ($5.99): Delicious. Wish it came with more than 4 triangles of pita though. - Beef Soltani ($19.99): Very good. The beef and koobideh kabob were both amazing. Pricy, but comes with a lot of meat! Rice was great. - Chicken Shawarma ($13.99): Also delicious! Again, rice was great. We really enjoyed our food and have enough for leftovers for lunch!

*Update: They hired new people and the staff is amazing. The food is so fresh and delicious. I love the ambiance. It looks like a mom and pop place but it still have that Mediterranean vibe.

Got the chicken shawarma sandwich. I asked for it on pita bread. So good! Service and ambiance always friendly.

After fasting for 10 hours, I decided to break my fast with a gyro as I had a huge craving. Service wise, it was very pleasant. The cashier greeted me with his amazing smile and warmth. The food took about 15 minutes to get in my hands. I ordered the gyro sandwich. While unwrapping it, the gyro was hot and smelled awesome. My first bite was where things went left. The meat was salty and dried out. It was like the meat was sitting out all day under a warming lamp. There was barely any sauce so that made the sandwich even more unappetizing. After my second bite, I had to toss it.

Google pointed us to Yalda and I might be letting Google pick my restaurants for the forseeable future. Let's get into it! Location and Parking Yalda is located the bustling Aria Village in Sandy Spring, which is a small retail center that is home to quite a few businesses. Yalda offers valet parking or you can self-park for free in the garage. Venue and Atmosphere The restaurant was appropriately crowded on a Thursday night. It was warm that day so we opted to sit on the patio, which was almost full. The interior is beautiful. There's a semi-open kitchen - with a good view of the flames. The vibe teetered on between elevated and casual, either way you'd definitely fit in. Food and Drinks For drinks, my wife had the Mitra's Habibi which is a gin based cocktail and as always I stuck with bourbon had the Midnight Star. We started with the hummus and the Za'atar Labneh, both which were very good. The star of the show was the Soltani kabob we shared. It was marinated to perfection and cooked over the open flame. The basmati rice was fragrant and flavorful and paired nicely. We also shared the Shirazi salad, which added.a refreshing feel to the entree. Service Service was great. Our servers were professional and attentive. Verdict Always a lover of Mediterranean food, Yalda has definitely earned a customer in me. If you're ever in Sandy Springs pay them a visit. The spices in the rice were overpowering and my partner didn't enjoy it as much. The potatoes were extra crunchy and a bit burnt... unsure if it was overdone or on purpose. It smelled like was it cooked in coconut oil. I would say 7 out of 10 overall. The lamb neck was recommended by the waiter. It was really good, slow cooked and the meat was tender. The sauce was unremarkable. The waiter gave us a house made spicy sauce and made this dish significantly better. I would say 9/10 overall. The hummus with the pickled mushroom was amazing. It was topped off with truffle oil and I just couldn't keep my hands off of it. I would say 10/10. I just want to point out the bill had a notice that says "tips are based on check prices after taxes" was confusing and unsure why would company charge tips on top of taxes. Our waiter was amazing so we didn't mind paying the extra but it really made us wonder about the company policy.

The perfect balance. The food - just incredible. We all got something different and I got to taste each one. The Chicken Barg Kabob was everyone's favorite. The Chicken kabob is VERY close though. I got the Soltani which was also amazing. The thing to do though is sub out the Zereshk Polo rice. You won't regret it. I got a little adventurous and ordered the Torshi - pickled vegetables. I'm not really into vegetables and I was a little worried when it showed up and didn't look very appealing to me - but it was SO good. Loved it. The staff were seemingly entertained that I liked it - apparently it's only Persian people that are into it, and they kind of laughed when I wanted to take the leftovers with me. My son liked it too though! And he's picky. We were getting ready to go when suddenly they brought an ice cream and wished me happy birthday. I think they heard my son wish me a happy birthday at dinner. Just really paying attention to detail. So this bright yellow Persian ice cream shows up. I've never had it. It is really different - like a cross between dinner and desert flavors. That doesn't sound good but trust me it's great. Again, my picky son loved it! It's got a saffron-pistachio-rose thing going on that actually really works! Much of this is probably very familiar to those who have enjoyed Persian food before. For our family it was a new and wonderful experience. I love this restaurant and DEFINITELY want to come back for Father's day. This is going to be my new special occasion spot.

As a longtime San Francisco Bay Area foodie, I've been spoiled by incredible international food and…read morebold, complex flavors, so I'm always excited when I find a restaurant that delivers that same sense of discovery. Delbar absolutely does. The food here stands on its own--layered, interesting and incredibly delicious. I had been looking forward to dinner at Delbar Old Milton for two reasons: a long-overdue dinner with an old colleague and a serious craving for Middle Eastern food. After battling Atlanta-area traffic from Marietta--it took nearly an hour for what should have been about a 30-minute drive--I was ready to settle in, catch up and EAT. I'd previously been to Delbar in Inman Park with a group and loved it, so expectations were high. Old Milton did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. Warm, sophisticated and beautifully designed, with a Persian rug welcoming you along the entrance and complimentary valet parking--a huge plus. The young valet team was impressively polished and efficient. I started with a Paper Plane, apparently my new financially irresponsible cocktail habit. Delicious, but these things are expensive! I blame the Italian liqueur. Two cocktails pushed north of $40, so perhaps I need a more economical signature drink. Then came the food. We started with the beet carpaccio: red beets, whipped feta, burnt honey, sour orange, pistachio and almond dukkha. Beautifully balanced--earthy, creamy, sweet, tart and nutty all at once. I let my dinner companion take over ordering from there, which proved to be an excellent decision. The Bandari Olovieh was the surprise of the evening: saffron-marinated smoked salmon with cream cheese, dill, chives, jalapeño purée, potatoes, Aleppo pepper, urfa, hot sauce, fried capers and cornichons, served with saffron potato chips. I'm not usually a salmon person, yet I loved this. The salmon was mild and delicate without the stronger flavor I sometimes associate with salmon or trout. And those saffron potato chips? Dangerous. I could happily eat a bowl of them. We also had the koobideh kabob, made with ground beef brisket and lamb shoulder with onion and saffron, served over taftoun with grilled pepper, tomato and sumac onions. Tender, juicy and packed with flavor. Wrapped in that bread, it was almost like the world's most delicious little Middle Eastern slider. By then, we were DONE. I had every intention of trying dessert, but there was simply no room. It was also getting late, and work was waiting for both of us the next morning. Next visit. Service throughout dinner was friendly and knowledgeable. This is a menu where good servers matter. Ours could explain the dishes and ingredients rather than simply take an order, and that added to the experience. Two small notes on the space. If Atlanta is doing its summertime furnace impression, I'd avoid tables near the doors leading to the patio. Every time they opened, a blast of hot air rolled through. Sit farther inside and enjoy the AC. And while I loved the Persian rug and overall design, the faux flowers and wisteria covering the entrance pergola weren't my favorite. Atlanta sun is brutal on anything artificial, and the rest of the restaurant is sophisticated enough that the entrance deserves something equally polished. Those are minor quibbles. The important part is this: Delbar is serving seriously delicious food in a beautiful setting with thoughtful service. If you're anywhere around Alpharetta or Roswell, make the detour. This place is not to be missed. Life is too short not to eat well. Get out there and find your next meal! Sorry, no photos;(
