Having lived in Ireland for 5 years, I'm very familiar with Lavazza Italian coffee. Their espresso has a lovely crema, giving a basic espresso or Americano a wonderfully smooth, rich taste and texture. The staff here seem to care very much about the timing when pulling a shot. I have waited patiently on certain occasions while they tweak the machine to get the perfect shot. This is a welcome practice to see that I've only witnessed at one other local coffee shop in the Lafayette-West Lafayette area (see K. Dee's Coffee). Lavazza Espression sells a nice variety of tasty treats including freshly baked chocolate chip, peanut butter and snickerdoodle cookies. They also have fruit and yogurt parfaits and even pastries I frequently ate in Europe such as butter croissants and maple braids. A few nit picks: they do not offer butter or jam for the croissants and I often have seen the queue stacks up as half dozen staff seem to be looking at each other in a somewhat confused manner. I imagine this just a result of the shop being so new that they haven't quite found their rhythm with a workflow. Also, the shouting out of drink orders has been a bit annoying as I've been relaxing with a cup of coffee. As far as international coffee chains go, this ranks number one and blows the doors off the likes of Starbucks and Seattle's Best. Lavazza Espression has brought the true feel of a high end European coffeehouse to little old West Lafayette with its modern furnishings, strong Italian coffee and rich pastries. If your'e a tea lover, they even serve tea properly in a steel pot. Take some time to drink and eat in, enjoying your treat in a ceramic mug while watching through the massive plate glass windows as the students pass by. Finally, try a bicerin if you dare. It's a chocolate/espresso/cream overload. Lavazza Espression opened at the beginning of Fall Semester 2011 in Marriott Hall at Purdue University. It is a definitely a refreshing addition to the assortment of campus coffee shops. I expect to see the European study abroad and graduate students flocking here for a taste of home.

Bicerin. Espresso, drinking chocolate and whipped cream. YAH.

Took me very long to try this place. Why? a) It's inside of a Purdue building that I have no reason to go to (I live in Kran area); b) because it's inside a building it is very sterile looking, very bright and while not actually very loud it does have many people walking about. To Lavazza's advantage, it's about half way between my office and my bf(f)'s office and so it has become a sort of break/meeting spot. Great espresso drinks that don't have the burnty flavor that both Starbucks and GH sport. AND DRINKING CHOCOLATE This is the only place I know of in Lafayette that has drinking chocolate- that is, thick decadent hot chocolate. The best thing is that with this awesome drinking chocolate and espresso they can make combinations that none of the other places can. Like Bicerin, an Italian drink of espresso, drinking Chocolate and cream (the cream is cold, btw). Definitely has taken the spot of best coffee on campus for me.

Coffee is great, personal ?, actually, no personal 5-6 sleeping persons. Not a Lavazza style of service: flies on jam on summer day

Love this place! The coffee is great and so is the service. I wish it was a little closer to Chauncey though!

This is definitely the best coffee on Purdue's campus and probably the best coffee in the Lafayette area.

Usually, when I don't know what the house drip coffee tastes like, I'll order an Americano, because they tend to be balanced, no matter which coffee shop I'm visiting. My instincts were right! The Americano at Wanderlust is mighty tasty. If you have time to sit a spell, I suggest ordering your coffee "for here" so you can drink it out of a real cup, like a real boy. There are lots of places to sit and sip your stuff, not just in the immediate area, but there's also a separate room across the way with even more seating. That's also where the restrooms are located. Side note: Even if you don't need to use the restroom, you should visit the restroom. It is a sight to behold. I couldn't leave well enough alone and had to get a pastry to go with my coffee. There was this slab-cream-pie-pastry-looking number calling my name from the case. It was very creamy and flaky and rich, and went well with my coffee. No regerts.

The other room is on the other side of the lobby and it's the quiet room. It has a library feel and has both tables and soft seating. A great place to work, study or read. I'll be back!
