I have had a couple of massages at Lavender Day Spa, and they were by far THE BEST massages I have ever had (and I've been lucky to have had a few in my day)!!! Massage Therapist Vicky is incredible at what she does, though I hear everyone there is just as skilled in all forms of massage therapy (Swedish. Deep Tissue, Thai). They even have couples rooms which is so nice! Very clean, cozy, and amazing calming energy. Amy the Coordinator is wonderful; very friendly and smiley! After a 5.5 hour flight and running a 5K race, I arrived in Coronado tired and sore. My room was not ready yet so I stopped in Lavender Day Spa to see if there were any openings for a massage. There was an opening with Helen, and I truly mean this when I say I received the best massage ever. It was was a full hour long, not just 50 minutes. I recommend getting the hot stones it's a bit shocking at first, but it quickly fades into a very relaxing experience. I left there so relaxed that when I walked back into the waiting area, another customer waiting for her massage said, I want what she just had." I was in need of a good massage, and my husband booked me a real treat. My therapist was Melody and I had a wonderful 90min session. I typically enjoy a nice relaxing massage and get massage every month. I had not had a Thai massage in years so kind of forgot how they are slightly different than spa massage. However, Melody's Thai massage was the most relaxing one I have had. I left feeling completely relaxed, Melody did such a wonderful job working out my knots and I upgraded to Hot Stones which we're totally worth it! We booked in advance with the spa but had to change appointment time due to traffic. They were very accommodating on the appointment change. We recommend to get the 90-minute massage session, as we felt very refresh and relax. My wife loved their prenatal massage. She's HAPPY with the massage, I am HAPPY as well. I would not recommend this place based on business ethics alone. My friend and I came here since they were the only place that could take two people in the area at same day's notice and overall good reviews (tbh, I never read them to confirm the legitimacy). We asked for 60 minutes massages. About 10 minutes into my massage, my masseuse suggested I do 90 minutes since I have such bad knots in my shoulders. Typically I would, but since we already have plans and other people waiting on us as well, I said no, only 60 minutes. After another 15 minutes or so, my masseuse left to get a hot stone that I did not ask for, came back saying my friend is getting a 90 minute massage instead, and asked again if I would want to. I was puzzled bc my friend and I specifically discussed doing 60 minutes, knowing our husbands were waiting for us to get lunch after. I repeatedly asked if she was 100% certain since it doesn't seem like either of us to deviate from plans. Masseuse insisted yes. Then she left the room again, I assume to confirm. After that, my friend's masseuse came back with my masseuse to tell me that my friend indeed want 90 minutes, so I agreed to do the same at that point. Albeit, still skeptically. The massage itself wasn't good overall. It had it's good moments when she did my neck and shoulders because she really dug into getting the knots, but the massage itself was so vigorous the entire time, it reminded me of people scrubbing their clothes on a washboard. There was no relaxing moment, the lotion and oil used smelled strange like old boxes kept in an attic, and I kept wishing that the 90 minutes would be over. At the end of our massages when my friend and I met back up outside, we both immediately asked the other if a 90 minute massage was what the other actually wanted. Both of us confirmed that it was the masseuse who insisted, telling both of us that the other person wanted it so that we would agree. My friend even got to a point where she wanted to text me to make sure, and her masseuse said that I was busy getting my massage to respond. This practice is completely unethical, the massage itself wasn't even enjoyable. I hope the extra $60 they made was worth this review and letting others know of their conduct. Yelpers beware! I now see with other reviews that they make it a common practice to swindle clients. Wish I had read those reviews beforehand. read more

Worst massage I've ever had. I came in for a thirty minute deep tissue massage. Everything seemed okay, but then I randomly heard the door open and my masseuse left the room. No big deal. Thought she was just grabbing something. Then, there was a knock on my door. Seemed as though there was another masseuse asking her a question (but, um, hello? I'm on the massage table). This happened two more times where the door was opened and someone was on the other side. That wasn't even the best part. The masseuse then finished the massage, said thank you and told me to take my time, and then LEFT THE FREAKING DOOR OPEN! I literally had to get my butt naked self off the table wrapped in the sheet to shut the door and change. Freaking ridiculous. Oh, and my thirty minute massage was only 24 minutes. read more

My significant other and I were visiting Coronado for the weekend. Our muscles were sore because we had been jumping in and out of drag race cars at drag racing school and we wanted to get a massage. We wanted either two massages at the same time or two in the same room so that we wouldn't have to wait for each other for an hour. I sure didn't want to look on Google first for a place because I figured some "Happy Endings" place would show up first and that's what I didn't want. Call me naive. I grew up in Idaho. But I wanted to make sure I called a legitimate massage place. So I looked up "massage Coronado" on Yelp and Lavender Flower came up. I called them because of their great yelp at Yelp reviews and they looked like a legitimate place in the middle of town. We were glad we went there. We had our massages in a room together at the same time by two quiet and professional female massage therapists. I had Thai massage and my partner had a Swedish massage. Then when our time was up they said thank you, and left us while we got ready to go. It's now been seven hours and my shoulders still feel relaxed! The whole experience was relaxing and easy and I will go back next time I am in town. read more

This place is an unpretentious jewel. I highly recommend on quality, price and delightfulness of their stuff. Amy is a very nice lady, she is very professional. She helped me to relax msot of the knots on my head, to be honest, not a lot of people know how to do this and finding the right spot. Amy definitely knows what she's doing and depending on different people's condition, she would tell you what to avoid or what makes you feel better in daily habits. This is the BEST massage I've ever had in SoCal. If you are planning on a trip to San Diego area, I will recommend you to come here as the last stop. It would take away most of your tiredness and soreness. (A lot of people don't understand that sometimes a strong press on a specific spot on your body might be really helpful. We walked in and they were able to accommodate us right away. Because we were first time customers they gave us $15 off each massage. I chose a prenatal massage and my mom chose a sports massage. The place was clean and the masseuse worked on my knots in my shoulders. The music was peaceful and the technique was good. Would definitely return if in the area! Lavender Flower Day Spa is not a resort experience. Instead, it's a small, clean, sometimes noisy place across from the Hotel Del Coronado. If they offer a hot stone massage, just say yes. YOU BETTER TIP!! ***READ TO THE END*** Terrible massage and SO EMBARRASSED by the woman taking my payment. The massage was awful. She massaged for about 20-30 minutes with zero oil and her dry fingers. She literally used her bony thumb and elbow practically stabbing me until she asked if I wanted to buy the oil upgrade. I had to ask if she was going to use oil and then she finally did. It got worse after that. Zero technique and it lacked any skill or effort. At one point she left the room to turn the air conditioner on because I turned the fan on when I first got into the room because it was so stifling hot in there and when she came back in, she left the damn door open. So I'm laying there, face down, with my bare butt hanging out and I hear voices that sound way too close and I lift my head to turn back and the door is open. She notices me look and she got up and closed the door. The massage continued to be terrible. She didn't even massage my biceps, my hands. She put gloves on to massage my feet for two seconds then when she did my scalp massage she was pressing her fingers down and pulling them back and pulling my hair. I cant even make this up haha it.was.TERRIBLE. I've never ever not tipped someone but I just couldn't tip her just for the sake of not being rude. So I thought, okay, I'll just scan my card, press no tip and be on my way. NOPE. I scanned my card, pressed no tip. And the woman running my payment looks at me and gestures to their tip list and asked if wanted to tip and I said, "No, I'm sorry." "Oh, it wasn't good?" "No, it wasn't. But it's okay, no problem:)" She then said "oh, tell me why. Oh, here let me go get her so you can tell her. She need to know I said "No, please don't. May I please just pay and go. It's totally fine. not a big deal. No problem." "But she need to hear why." I said "No. you can tell her. Please, can I please just leave. I'd like to leave please" "Wait, let me get..." then she brings back another woman and they both stand there and make me tell them why the massage was bad. I've NEVER encountered anything like this as a patron. She literally would not let me leave and was embarrassing me and clearly trying to guilt me into leaving a tip. You literally are going to corner a customer and not allow them to leave so that they can criticize your employee to their face? And what's worse is I come on here and there others who have dealt with the same thing and row beating for tips! I'm easy going and I've had bad massages before and tip. And never have ever had anyone call me out and embarrassing me for not leaving a tip. Don't come here. Terrible customer service and massages.
