We had an appetizer, wine, entrees, and dessert, and all were worth bragging about! Our server, Al, took very good care of us. There were several groups (bridal parties/ bachelorette parties) celebrating their special events and taking photos. After our meal we wandered through the property and encountered a petting zoo with mini donkeys, goats , peacocks, and emus! What a treat! The entire property is pristine and scenic. Vega has it all! I enjoyed the standard tasting flight, which included Grenache Rosé, Hapa Blanc, Tierra Alta Grenache, Ronin and Hapa Red. I can honestly say every single one was good. Normally there's at least one wine that I don't care for, but this tasting flight was probably the best I've tried. The location of this winery is on a ranch. It's beautiful, spacious and located next to a horse ranch. What a bonus! I wandered over to the horses and they let me pet them. I absolutely adored them. Chiquita the cat is also onsite ready to greet you at the parking lot. They offer a small batch of snacks, beverages and charcuterie. You are also allowed to bring your own food. Customer service here is outstanding! Unfortunately, I can't remember the lady that tended to us on our visit, but she was friendly and helpful at explaining each pour. He will chat with you (about the wine, Buellton, surfing, and/or his extensive travels) or leave you be to enjoy. It's super chill. Snacks available - try the smoked Gouda pretzels, yum. My favorite wine was the Xarel-lo, which I learned is the grape used to make Cava. There wasn't a wine of his that I didn't enjoy, and whether reds or whites are your jam, you will be impressed. Hidden Gem in an industrial looking part of the 'hood. We…read moretasted: Chardonnay - french style - clean, crisp... Hint of oak GSM - easy drinking GSM.... Great everyday wine! While it's easy to drink, it's also got a lot of character and dimensions. Fruit notes but not sweet.... Not tannic so it's not dry either. Tempranillo - love! Hints of fruit and earthiness ...a bit of tannins... Slight acidity. This hit my palate just right. Like a sangiovese, I think it needs food. I think it could pair with anything from Bolognese to meatloaf to Taco Tuesday. Zinfandel - this is a lighter Zin IMO. Not a big peppery, spicy Zin. Super easy drinking I wanted to get this too so I'll go online later and buy it. Syrah - hubby really liked this one... For me I was expecting a bigger, jammier Syrah... This one was lighter and more approachable in terms of drinking. Its not heavy, not super tannic. Really a lovely red. All were great! Flying home so only a couple bottles fit in my bag. Chardonnay and Tempranillo were our picks for the day! (This time.) Definitely gonna order more online.
