Lavender Ridge Farms is a charming, peaceful and beautiful place. They have a clean restroom and a charming cafe. Jonathon was my server who also makes soaps that are in the gift shop. I had the Turkey pesto wrap with a side of potato chips, lavender cheesecake and lavender lemonade. The lemonade was sweet and delicious. The turkey pesto wrap was flavorful and filling and paired well with the potato chips. The lavender cheesecake was delicious, so I ordered one to go. The staff and owners of the farm were kind and inviting, I recommend coming out to the farm. They had birds and lemurs in cages near their cafe which was cool to look at. The gift shop is filled with lovely lavender goods, including their lavender honey sticks which are delicious. Lavender Ridge Farms has a beautiful pollination garden. I love this place!!! First of all, it's beautiful and peaceful. I've been there quite a few times. They sell plants for your garden and have some unique things. They are very healthy and do well. There is a store that sells a huge number of lavender smelling things - toiletries and such. I have loved everything I've bought there. There is also a small restaurant. Their menu isn't extensive, but it's all freshly made from scratch. It's a "tea room" type menu, so think sandwiches and salads mostly. The chicken salad is really good. The best thing is their lavender lemonade. So delicious. I have also had lavender vanilla ice cream with lavender honey on it. It sounds too sweet, but oh my! It's amazing. When their big lavender field is blooming, you can cut some to take home. It's reasonably priced and smells heavenly for quite a while. I'd give them more than five stars. read more

Loved looking at their plants for sale, browsing in the shop, and sitting in the shave while filling the breeze overlooking the lavender plants. Beautiful farm with all kinds of charm. Tucked away off the paved path- Heads up- gravel roads. Ha. Proceed with caution on lots of cars zipping by not willing to share the road. Whoa nelly! Once you reach the farm it is quite a lovely little oasis. A tiny patch of lavender was left for lavender lovers to enjoy. Lots of sounds and sights- there was a mule in the distance welcoming all the guests. I parked on a patch of grass and made my way to the garden area where there were Lots of plants for sale. I saw some baskets and instructions on how to cut your lavender. I grabbed one and decided to look around before heading toward the lavender field. They have a gift shop, a cafe with outside seating and shade, birds and other animals just waiting to say hello. Lots of goodies in the gift shop, oils, sprays, candles, clothing. Nice variety. The helpers were friendly enough. Didn't see super enthusiastic- kind of aloof. Nice day and wonderful place for a stop in. read more

The Sunday cafe hours end at 3:30 and today they closed a few minutes early so that's that. The gift shop smelled wonderful and the lady was friendly. The driveway is not Prius friendly lol. Lot of beautiful plants for sale. Very sorry we couldn't have lunch here. read more

This was a fun day adventure with my girlfriend! It's about an hours drive from Dallas area. I love all things lavender so this was the perfect spot. We came too late to enjoy the cafe but they had some leftovers that they refrigerated and so we got to taste some of those! The farm is beautiful and you can pick your own lavender. They have a lavender shop that has some of the best products! My friend and I both took home lavender plants after the nice gentleman educated us on them. Would love to come back again! read more

Absolutely loved our visit to Lavender Ridge farms! The Cafe has a great menu - I got the salad trio so I could try their signature potato salad, chicken salad and lavender vinaigrette! We also tried their lavender lemonade & iced tea - delicious! We walked around the butterfly garden, birds & lemur areas and had a blast interacting with the goats, donkeys and geese. Such a cute little farm. Make sure to stop in the gift shop and plant shop for your own lavender plant and/or products! This way-out-of-the-way spot is a wonderful place to slow down, smell some amazing lavender-scented products, and even see a few animals one doesn't normally see. A very cute little place - felt like an oasis! The cafe is a lovely spot for lunch (with lots of lavender speciality dishes) and the food is pretty good and very well priced. I'd recommend the lavender lemonade and lavender ice cream! It was a nice 2 hour stop and a lot of fun, but there isn't loads to do when it isn't lavender picking season so go in mind that it'll be no more than a 2 hour visit with lunch! It was easy to socially distance, but they don't require masks which was a bit concerning, especially as they let people into their store without masks! read more

I remember visiting my grandparents house as a child. It was filled with beautiful gardens and we could play outside all day with only our imaginations as the rule book. Lavender Ridge Farms provokes the nostalgia of a simpler carefree time when all that mattered was that exact moment, the smell of flowers in bloom, and the comfort of good food. I love the rustic and whimsical decor, the multiple colored umbrellas that adorn the generous outdoor tables nestled under a canopy of trees. The menu offers a nice variety of choices, including some pretty tasty vegan options. I find comfort in the chili and chicken salad sandwich. And their chocolate pie would even please Grandma! It is delicious. After lunch, it is easy to unload your burdens with a romp through the gardens where you will find the child-like energy to chase butterflies and hide among the always blooming bushes and flowers. It is the perfect spot for a romantic picnic. Of course, I can never visit without purchasing a few plants, or goodies from the Lavender gift shop! I love the lavender soap for that warm soak that is always needed later when my body reminds me that I am not a kid running around in Grandma's garden...at least not until my next visit to Lavender Ridge when I can relax, enjoy a nice glass of Lavender Lemondade, take in the sweet smell of Lavender fields, and just imagine... We've been coming to Lavender Ridge over the past 3 years and love it more and more each time. It's family owned and staffed, and everyone there is always so welcoming and friendly. The property, itself is gorgeous, with flowers growing everywhere and whimsically arranged garden art. The friendly herding dogs roam the property, as do the guinea hens. Love birds chill in their outdoor aviary and doves roost in front of the farmhouse. I always just feel like I'm truly getting away from it all when I'm here. I especially love the little cafe! It has a screened-in patio area, as well as several tables outside too. The food ranges from Lavender infused chicken salad to a ham and swiss sandwich. They also offer green salads and other side salads such as potato salad and broccoli salad. I'm partial to the Salad Trio which has chicken salad, potato salad and a green salad. A delicious fresh-brewed lavender infused iced tea washes it down nicely, and remember to try one of their desserts (all of them are great)!! The most fun time to go is when you can pick lavender. They loan you a basket, a pair of scissors and some twist-ties and set you loose out in the field. It's $8 per twist-tie full of lavender blossoms. If you're sun-sensitive, plan accordingly with sunscreen, etc. and if you have a bee-sting allergy, bring an epi-pen. You are at a flower farm, after all. The bees aren't generally aggressive, but accidents can happen and it's a bit of a trek to the emergency room. If you aren't the type of person who enjoys being one with the garden, but you still enjoy lavender, you can just go to the gift shop instead of picking your own. I always ending up picking up items as gifts and for my own home when we stop in. I also like to buy potted herbs and flowers from them to take home the employees are very knowledgeable and can answer all of your lavender-related questions. They do different festivals throughout the year too, so check out their calendar to see what's coming up. Several times we've been out, they've had live music and/or wine tastings. read more

We visited Lavender Ridge Farm on Mother's Day this year. The weather was perfect and we ate outside on a picnic table. This is a working farm, they grow a lot of the the vegetables they use in the cafe, and they also have animals for the kids to look at, like a zoo, as well as donkey's, baby goats, chickens etc. I had already inquired if the lavender would be blooming so was not disappointed to see the field devoid of blooms. We enjoyed our meal which was seasoned with lavender buds. The food was very tasty and did not taste like flowers. I had the salad trio which was lavender honey chicken salad, dilled potato salad and a garden salad of fresh spring greens, grape tomatoes, purple onion, roasted pecans, feta cheese, homemade croutons and topped with your selection of our signature lavender vinaigrette. I also had Lavender Lemonade. The Lavender blends in and enhances flavors. One of my favorite combinations of herbs for cooking, Herbe's de Provence contains lavender and I use it liberally on almost everything I cook. A visit to the gift shop and my Mother's day gifts from my daughter were purchased. Lavender buds to perfume my bedroom and my own lavender plant. Which I have to say three weeks later is still alive and thriving, although in need of re-potting soon. Because I wanted to see the lavender in bloom, we took a second trip to Lavender farms two weeks later for the Lavender Festival on Memorial Day. The lavender was indeed blooming but not the blazing lavender sight I had hoped like in the pictures of lavender growing in Provence, France but it was pretty nonetheless. We walked around the festival vendor booths and looked at all the things they had for sale and visited the gift shop again. This place is a wonderful place for a family outing. The food is reasonably priced and there is so much to see and do, or just sit in a chair and enjoy the gardens. read more

Showed up on a Saturday at 1045 am .. even thought the lavender is not in bloom right now they have great butterfly gardens to walk through and a farmyard with geese and miniature donkeys and an area with lemons and birds .. the cafe opened at 11 and the lavender tea was fantastic . The other highlights of lunch were actually the desserts .. do yourself a favor and order the cheesecake it was amazing.. and the sundae was very tasty as well .. thank you for a nice lunch .. without the lavender it took us about 2 hours to tour the gift shop eat and the gardens and animals .. read more

I went for the Lavender "festival". It was difficult to get to, very difficult the park at... but it was charming and quaint. I think with some help, this lavender farm could be pretty amazing and a big draw in central Texas. Unfortunately the lavender was harvested the week before the festival which was a huge mistake. The lavender should have been harvested weeks before with tons of products made and stored ready for the festival weekend. As it were, the lavender didn't have enough time to regrow so the lavender festival was lacking in fields of lavender, and unless you were in the tiny gift shop, it did not smell like lavender. I was also expecting food stalls with lavender infused bites, but there was none of that. Maybe this year they will be better prepared, and I hope so, because this event could be a spectacle. read more

It is way out there on the CR OF Gainesville. It was a pleasant drive. They have a nice little farm. A small field of lavender bushes for fresh cuts. They have 5-8 large bird cages with different kinds of birds which were nice to look at as you walked though the "woods". There was a large pen of geese. They also had a few corrals of goats and donkeys. There was a very nice butterfly "farm" too. We didn't not make it into the cafe but the menu looked inviting. The gift shop was small and a good variety. The shop keeper was very friendly and helpful in conversation. It was part of a bigger day trip in the area. Absolutely charming! The lavenders are not in bloom currently but we did catch the iris garden with all of the different varieties in bloom. We ordered some when the bulbs are split later this year, they will ship them right to you. They have a small gift shop with products made from their lavenders, the restroom is clean & the restaurant has a small but delicious menu. It's a fun & quick day out, to roam the property & check out the flowers & birds & have a spot of lunch. The owners & team are super nice & are a wealth of information, incredibly friendly. Lavender Ridge Farms was nice but a quick visit. While there wasn't any lavender blooming at the time the gist shop has many homemade lavender goodies to indulge in. There's also a cute little cafe On site that offers some homemade goodies and snacks as well. Although my visit was short & quick, I was able to grab some essential oils, Hans sanitizer, and lavender seeds. I'd your going to visit just be sure to check it out during blooming season. read more

We went to the festival today, and while the wait for parking was a bit frustrating, the farm was lovely. We will be back for another visit, and to support a small, locally owned business, on another weekend. There were animals, a lovely cafe, and many plants and blooms other than the lavender itself to see. A farmer can't control the weather or when their plants bloom, unfortunately. Their Lavender Festival is an absolutely pathetic failure! 45 minutes waiting in line to be learn we can't get -- NO ONE CAN. The parking has long since been full and the only cars moving are the ones that u-turned on the narrow dirt road to get out (which still takes 20 minutes). By the way, we learned that from someone who turned back -- the actual wait was 2 hours or more. Folks inside let us know that there are NO LAVENDERS to pick, and only a comically pitiful patch to look at. Attendees basically get to be miserable in order to see a row of vendor booths. read more

Went over Memorial Day Weekend for Lavender Festival. We had a great time. We enjoyed the lavender chicken salad lunch in the cafe. This place is so much more than a lavender farm. The owners really go out of their way to make this place great. I read about the farm on a top ten list in Texas Highways, I was very pleasantly surprised. The festival attracts great vendors selling all kinds of things. The lavender fields are so beautiful! They also have herbs, chickens running around, and lots of cute animals. This place is out of the way, about two miles of dirt roads off of 82 near Whitesboro, and completely worth having to get your car washed when you leave. They have a small café that serves lunch. The menu is small, but we highly recommend the lavender lemonade and lavender iced tea. I've heard amazing things about their desserts like lavender cheesecake and pumpkin pie cake. After you eat, it's a MUST to walk around the property and visit their goats, lemurs, ducks, chickens, honing pigeons, guinea fowl, and take in all of their beautiful landscape sculptures, mostly made from reclaimed and repurposed items in artful and creative ways. The gift shop has hand made soaps that are wonderful even on my sensitive skin, lavender cooking spices, lavender lotions and balms, and all kinds of neat Texas things and beautiful decorations. Don't miss their "chairy" tree!! We went back for their Lavender festival and chili cookoff in October and had a wonderful time looking through all of the vendors they had set up. read more

Great until the gunshots, *literally*. Went with a friend to get out of the city. We had a lovely lunch at the cafe that was good and reasonably priced. Took a nice tour around the farm and then went to cut our lavender. While we were in the field the neighboring farm started shooting guns. No problem, we are in the country. Midway though two bullets wizzed by our heads. It was no mistake, my friend is a military brat, she knew they were AK47s. The other people in the field joined us in immediately getting out of the open. We went inside to tell cashier about how close they were shooting and say maybe she should call her neighbors. No response, no concern, nothing. Without that it would a nice afternoon and wasn't their fault a little sense of concern would have gone a long way. read more

This is a great little oasis to visit and spend some quiet time sitting in the garden. If you feel like strolling around there are many varieties of flowers to look at. There is a small cafe to get a light lunch; the lavender tea and lavender lemonade are really great. The food is good, but that's not the reason to go there. Go for the flowers.
