Aloo Saag, Samosa, Chicken Vindaloo, rice and Garlic Naan.
    Jana M.

We are new in the area and searched for Indian food in Gainesville. Found Indian Dhaba off Hwy 82 in a Shell Station. I ordered the Aloo Saag - the most interesting and delicious I've had! You can taste the marriage of the fresh spinach with onion and spices. The potatoes were the perfect background to balance it. Sooo good. I think it's best with naan rather than rice. My husband had the Chicken Vindaloo - appropriately spiced with a good amount of chicken; not so hot that the heat overroad the spice flavors. He asked for medium spice level. Very good. The garlic naan was fluffy and tender with just the right amount of char on the outsides. The Samosas was lightly fried with a good spice and plenty of peas to potato inside. It's about 5 minutes off I35 to the east.

Pretty decent food we ordered Bhindi (Okra) and it came rice. Orders naan on the side. Good taste, Asked for it to be not too oily. This is inside the Shell station and you order at the Bourbon Street burger bar menu was taped on the table

Seen good reviews Decided to come in to kill time while I was visiting WinStar casino. The naan and the spinach entree was tasty. Chicken dry and probably cook 3 days prior . I ordered the food at the counter and was told to pay after .. 2 entrees and the samosa for lunch $68

1st time trying. Was a little skeptical when I saw that it was in a travel stop. The dining area was very clean and the man working the counter was very friendly and was able to help us order since we not experienced in indian cuisine Everything we ordered was amazing. Will definitely be back . Highly recommended.

That's how good this is. Butter Chicken that was gone before I could take a pic.

Finally...a terrific place to eat in our area that is not a fast-food restaurant or a food truck. I like only two places in my area and this one ranks right up there now with my faves Lovejoys and 56 Deli. The butter chicken was YUM. Highly recommend!!

I've eaten Indian food once or twice before so don't have much to compare too, however I'd say the food here is amazing. I literally drove here 3 times in two days! It's only 17 minutes about from the casino so if u want good food instead of what casino offers I recommend the drive. I had the vegetable somosa which was large and very good. Also had chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and paneer butter masala. I told him I like it spicy so not positive how it comes normally but was perfect spice level for me, very flavorful and everything I had was terrific. The guy who works here is super nice and happy to explain the menu. It's in a travel store but don't let that fool you, it's the place to go for great Indian food, highly recommend!

But I was headed home and wanted to grab something en route for the family to eat. I glanced and saw a high rating and figured I can't go wrong with Indian food. Anyplace I've eaten had alway been good! So, I ordered Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Biryani, and Goat Curry through Yelp app. I was 5 minutes away and food was ready for pickup when I arrived, which pleased me but also made me wonder if it wasn't fresh. Nevertheless I arrived home and the food was packaged well and that was the end of the good experience. Surprisingly the food was rather terrible. And I have NEVER had bad Indian food. The Biryani was bland and hot for hot sake, like spicy and flavorless. The Nan was thick and rubbery. The tandoori was dry and nasty, like having a sour taste to it. My husband had the goat and said the sauce wasn't good. Overall I don't recommend this place. Seriously I hate I wasted $50+ with them and I honestly wish I could get my money back. Two thumbs way down. Save yourself and your money! Eat someplace else.

A first rate Indian restaurant…read more They call themselves Nepali. And the entrepreneurs may easily be Nepali. In the US, calling yourself a Nepali restaurant means taking a standard North Indian menu and adding momo and some Chinese dishes. In Nepal, they eat a lot more than momo. Mountainous regions in poor countries often use forms of protein that Americans don't particularly care for. (Fill in the blanks yourself on this one.) Doing that in the U.S. would be commercial suicide. At one time, Mount Everest had goat intestine on the menu. Goat intestine is relatively un-shocking given other items that Nepalis hunt or butcher and eat. The goat intestines did not sell well and had to be removed from the menu. So mostly what you get here is a plain old North Indian restaurant. Fortunately, Mount Everest is a very good plain old North Indian restaurant. * * * The headline story here is spice. A. Lots of it. B. Not your standard Anglo-Indian curry house spice mixes. I ordered my eggplant with a heat of 4. A heat of 5 is their !!NUCLEAR!! option. 4 is their "Commands Respect- Listen to Me Baby" level. Mount Everest's 4 is most other Indians restaurants 38. Steam came out of ears. Steam came out of eyes. I was amazed my metal container was able to hold that dish. I set a Grayson County speed record for most Naan consumed in the shortest amount of time ... As vast amounts of naan were stuffed into my flaming mouth to lower the temperature. * * * I LOVED IT. I WOULD DO THAT AGAIN IN A NEW YORK MINUTE. * * * If molten lava isn't your thing Ordering your food with a heat of 0 or 1 Will give you a nice lovely very mild dish. Mount Everest caters to all tastes. * * * The spicing here is unusual. This particularly shows up in the salty lassis. I couldn't tell you what the flavor combo was. But it was intriguing and wonderful. That is another dish I would order in a New York minute. * * * Speaking of non-New-York topics, Mount Everest does its best to fit into a Texas-Oklahoma aesthetic. There is a pool table. For all I know, Texoma is full of Indian restaurants with pool tables. But that was the first time, I had ever seen such a thing. They have country-western style decoration, and guitars on the walls to help set a mood. They serve cold beer. I am not used to Texas Ice Houses that also serve Tikka Masala and Aloo Chana. But this is a concept I could definitely learn to like. * * * Overall, this is a first rate establishment. And if you want enough inner fire to be able to climb the Himalayas without wearing a parka, Order any dish with a heat of 5. The snow will melt on either side of you as you pass.

The service is amazing and personalized, the drinks are on point, and the food is outstanding. Having lived in Houston and Chicago, great Indian food has always been a staple for me, and it was something I really missed after moving to Dallas two years ago. Despite the large Indian population and many restaurants here, the quality and authenticity usually fall short of cities like Houston, New York, or Chicago--until I found Delhi 6. I've already been back four times. The dhaba-style butter chicken is one of the absolute best I've ever had, and the Rogan Josh is another personal favorite.

Usually, when Yelp sends me on a 30-minute trek for lunch, it's because the algorithm has decided I…read moreneed more "character building" or that I haven't spent enough on gas this month. My "quick search" for local Indian food spat out Delhi6 Indian Kitchen & Bar as the top choice. Thirty minutes and 14 miles of Highland Village pavement later, I checked Google Maps only to find there was an Indian spot one mile from my location. At that point, I wasn't just hungry; I was "Yelp-betrayed" hungry. Walking into Delhi6 is a bit of a trip. I expected a standard restaurant; I got a lounge that felt like I should have traded my sneakers for a velvet blazer. It was dim, moody, and featured tabletop lamps that made me feel like I was about to negotiate a high-stakes merger--or at least a very serious order of Garlic Naan. I was greeted by Rohi, a man so well-dressed he made the rest of the room look under-rendered. He introduced himself as the acting manager and dropped a line so bold I almost choked on my own anticipation: "This is the best Indian restaurant in all of Texas." Sir, those are "fightin' words" in a state that takes its spices as seriously as its brisket. My expectations didn't just rise; they hit the ceiling. To see if Rohi was a prophet or just a very stylish salesman, I applied my standard Indian Food Litmus Test. No fancy bells and whistles--just the classics. Their menu, by the way, is a literal tome. It's as thick as the Cheesecake Factory menu, but thankfully with fewer pictures of Glazed Salmon and more promises of cumin-induced euphoria. The Tandoori Chicken was smokey, tender, redder than a fire engine. It had that perfect "kissed by the flames" char and a deep, smoky soul. The Chicken Tikka Masala balanced creaminess and spice. It was sweet, savory, and vibrating with bright spices. The chicken was so tender it practically dissolved on impact. The Paratha was dry and a bit tough--the one "C" on an otherwise straight-A report card. Despite the paratha being more "cardboard" than "cloud-like," the rest of the meal was a revelation. I found myself nodding along to Rohi's bold claims with every bite of that Tikka Masala. The flavors weren't just good; they were "I'm glad I drove 14 miles for this" good. It's right up there with the heavy hitters like Taj Mahal and Café Maharani. If I ever find myself in Highland Village again--or if Yelp decides to trick me into a cross-state road trip--I'm stopping back at Delhi6. Thank you, Yelp, for being terrible at math but excellent at finding me a five-star "mistake."

Stopped here on a whim looking for a place to eat and trying to avoid fast food. As others have noted, it's a big open space. We had chicken dum biryani, paneer masala, garlic naan and a mango lassi. Prices are a little high but not crazy for 2025. Portions were very large, in particular the biryani which was exceedingly generous. The paneer and naan were above average, the lassi was phenomenal, and the biryani was good but less exceptional.
