This was the first company that I called to have our pipes replaced, and I had no idea that most plumbing companies will do an estimate for you for free. LaVergne's Plumbing left me absolutely shocked by their pricing practices after we had had other plumbing companies come out to give us an estimate. They're tiered pricing structure feels blatantly inflated and exploitative. On top of that they had repeatedly tried to upsell services we found out after we actually did not need which now comes across as predatory rather than professional. They charged me over $100 just to deliver what turned out to be nothing more than a high pressure sales pitch. Seriously one of the quotes was to replace a drip pan for our water heater, which they quoted at $2500, a job that should be a fraction of that cost. When I shared that information with the other plumbing companies, they literally laughed at how ridiculous that estimate was.Homeowners deserve fair and transparent pricing, which you will not get with this company in my opinion. Definitely check with other plumbing companies before going with this one and be prepared for a time-consuming sales pitch which no one wants when they have plumbing problems. I'm not sure how plumbing pricing is done but , they tried to up sell the heck out of me . I had clogged toilet , plumber came looked ,said let me go write this up ..comes back with his most affordable plan "bronze package' and it was $1000 ($980 actually) . Then I flinched at price and was "car salesman down " to where he thought I thought was a more reasonable rate . I pay the $89 visit charge (no work was done) and he said to clean out the toilet more and he could come back the following day I ask around , get a different plumber reference , Alpine Plumbing, they come , fix it in less than 10 minutes and flat $220. I believe the first guy was like dealing with an auto mechanic who knows you have no clue and tries to get as much $ as possible. I would NOT recommended these guys but would whole heartily praise Alpine Plumbing. read more

We had a hectic week at our new home and the water wasn't working for over a week! Even during the crazy snowstorm we had in the area and everybody had frozen pipes or burst pipes, LaVergnes saved us!! They sent a friendly technician named Randy and he was super knowledgeable, explained everything in detail and did a great job. He took his time and we appreciate his work! The reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars was having to wait over 48hrs for a invoice of the work provided from the dispatch. They even sent us a gift!!!! Hi all, I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to after an unfavorable experience with this company. Exec summary is this - they seemed to have done good work on a few plumbing problems we had, and were prompt in addressing them, but they absolutely gouged us on the price. I called and asked to speak to somebody about it on three separate occasions as well but never received a call back despite being told someone would call me back each time. THAT is poor customer service... The details.... a few separate leaks - one at the pressure relief valve, one at the shut-off valve, and another in a separate location in the garage. Serious enough they needed immediate attention. Gentlemen came out at 8am to look at them, did a good job assessing the situation, was very polite and knowledgeable, said it was a decent amount of work but could get it done that day, and quoted me a price. After going back to the shop for a couple parts though (new PRV and shut-off valve), he called to report he was done after only about 60-90 minutes of work (max!). He charged me $1,953 though, so I asked him to help me understand the charges given the short time to fix it. He sheepishly said it was beyond his pay-grade and asked that I address my questions with the shop. I tried to do that 3 times though, and no one would not call me back, which is unacceptable in my book. My suggestion to you - don't accept anything but straight time & materials from this place. Otherwise, I'm concerned they'll fully take advantage of you. And Martin or Mirna LaVergne, if you see this post, I'd be happy to take your call and allow you to explain yourselves (reference invoice 14979). Really, I would... Technician came. I had to locate the problem- he did not see it and was thinking of leaving. Replaced a part that he said was broken ($50 if I purchased it myself) and one short piece of connecting pipe. It was brass- so maybe it cost $40 (which is probably more than it actually costs) He was here for about an hour and charged me $1200. OUTRAGEOUS. I understand labor is not cheap these days, but this was excessive. $500 would have been more reasonable. I will NOT have them come back to do regular service on my water heater. Now I see other reviewers and can empathize with them I wish I had read them before I hired them This company is unethical. read more

On July 9, 2024 I had their plumber come out because my septic backed up. He diagnosed it as a full tank ($330.00) and told me that he could get someone out to pump it and then he would snake it afterwards but it would take a few days to get them to my house. He said in order to do this I had to pay in full to the tune of $2,195.00. I paid in full. A friend of mine recommended another company and they were able to come out the next day and pump my tank and get it unclogged for $615.00. I had called LaVergnes and explained the situation to them and told them I needed a refund to pay for the services I urgently needed. (Household of 3 adults with very minimal use of toilets and water) I was told that I would get my money back in two weeks. I said no, I need it now. While speaking to Luke, the plumber, and explaining my predicament and needing a refund, he became very rude and said that they will put me on their "do not service list". I asked when I would get my money back and was told I would receive half tomorrow and the other half the next day. They had changed the full amount on July 9, refunded $914.00 on July 11 and finally today July 16, I received the other $900.00 back. There is no compassion or understanding at this company. They are the absolute worst people to deal with when you are in desperate need. They were very kind at first and then did a complete switch when I found someone that could help me sooner. I do not recommend them and hope the owner reads this and cares. But, if they are anything like the people I dealt with I doubt that they will. If I could I would give ZERO STARS. read more

They've done some fine work for us, but had a bad experience repairing a burst pipe last winter. The initial repair was done OK and pretty quickly but it was very expensive - they admitted to charging more during the cold snap because of high demand. I think most places do this but I still don't like it. What was harder to accept was that the pipe burst again a few weeks later. The guys who were here didn't fully make the repaired line safe for continuing cold weather and didn't adequately brief us on how to do it. When we called that in, expecting they'd take care of it for free, we were told that the guy who did the repair had quit in the meantime, and because they couldn't check with him to corroborate what we said had happened, we were out of luck and had to pay full (still inflated) price to repair the same pipe a second time. We told them to get lost. While I can understand wanting to verify a customer's claim when they report a problem, I think it's just bad service and disrespectful to refuse to believe what they say when it's not the customer's fault that it can't be verified. Left a real bad taste in our mouth, and won't be using them again. read more

While I thought this was an amazing company when I first utilized them on Nov. 30th to have my water heater tank piping repaired on an emergency basis (thanks Kevin). Because of this good experience, I called on December 14th and made an appointment for a job to have my water heater moved on Monday Dec 20th between 8am and 10am, as I had other contractors scheduled up needing to do work behind the heater. I was assured that this appointment was.put in place. Now the weekend prior to this appointment, I had to call the Lavergne's back out to assess my water main having burst, this was on Dec. 18th. Now, because of this emergency appointment, for my water moan bursting. I am being told that there was "no appointment scheduled for Monday". For this, I have to pay to have my other contractors show back up on a different day, whenever Lavergne's decides it's important enough to honor scheduled appointments. read more

I would not recommend this company for remodeling. This company didn't Honor their contract with me. Part of the remodel of my barn into a mother~in~law apt was that I got handed a permit. Which Lavernge plumbing still has not given to me. I have called many times and get the run around from the staff. During construction I was told repeatedly that they got a permit from the city to do the work. Obviously they lied or why wouldn't they hand it over? It's been almost 10 months since they finished the apt. Well, if you call it finished. They went over budget and didn't complete the job. They demanded more money, even though we paid them promptly according to our contract. This has been a horrible experience for me. It was the weekend of Christmas when we had that horrendous winter storm. Our power went out, the generator quit, and the pipes froze. No, not just one of them... at least 4.... Every plumber we could find was swamped. Most didn't even bother to call us back. We called Lavergne's on the recommendation of a friend. Not only did we get a call back at 5:30 pm that day - after they were closed! - but they could get someone out to look at it in 2 days. The next best offer we had had was 1/5/22 and on a waiting list for sooner, and they were going to be much more expensive. The office coordinator called to let us know exactly when Randy and Hunter would be there. They showed up on time and didn't give us any grief about our steep and possibly problematic driveway. Gave us an estimate with multiple options, not just -we can fix your broken pipes for this much- and charged by the job, not by the hour. The crew of Aureo and Frankie came out the morning of 12/31/21 (yes, new year's eve!) and spent 11 hours under our house replumbing all of our potable water supply lines. The guys were one and all polite, respectful, and professional. And, they didn't leave a mess. The office coordinator called us the next day - SATURDAY JANUARY FIRST to make sure that we were satisfied, and Randy and Mike came out that same day - still the weekend, still a holiday- to check for leaks. My garage burned down and we needed to demolish the building and cement slab. During the excavation of the slap the water line to my house must have been nicked. I still had water pressure in the house so we knew it was a small leak and we could see bubbling where the water was coming up. Called LaVergne's to fix it. They spent about an hour looking at it, dug a little , sat in their truck for most of the time and then came to the door saying they didn't know where the leak was and if I wanted the premium fix it would $7000.00 or a patch fix for $2300.00. I paid their $100.00 service fee and said they were to expensive. Do people not know how to work and dig a hole and fix something. I think they saw single woman and went for it. read more

Buyer beware of this plumbing company, they charged us $525 to install minor valve to shut water off and on to the refrigerator, it took them 10 minutes to complete this job. They make sure you know the fee is 90 bucks to show up. Then, give you options on a ipad, the cheapest was the bandaid option for $525. I signed on the line, which gives me no recourse. I hope these plumbers sleep well at night knowing they are taking advantage of vulnerable people. So sad. Excellent service and work quality! Thankfully we found these wonderful people after another contractor's negligent work which we did not discover until later after the damage had been done. We were told by the insurance adjuster that this could be a life-threatening situation. Randy came out quickly and did all the work to repair the colossal mess and damage of the negligent contractor. He also took pics and documented before/after. After working nearly 12+hours over two days, he stayed to answer all our questions and explain everything. The one issue which was minor was reaching the office a few times. They are extremely busy and very popular. We needed help cleaning up a half decent plumbing job I did with a well pump job a year prior to prepare for selling our home. Lavergne's plumbing came out, checked out the job, gave me plenty of options for preparing for our home sale and did great work with the option we selected. The great service and work was already worthy of a 5 star review UNTIL... A few weeks later, our home appraisal came back with just weeks remaining before closing. On our list of things to update, there was a statement about need to verify a certain thing to be installed. Lavergne's worked hard with me over multiple phone calls and emails to find out what the request actually was for, provided the information the appraiser needed and helped us continue moving on with our home sale as scheduled. Save yourself some money! Don't use this company! My kitchen sink plugged up, I tried drain cleaners and my own snake to no avail trying to avoid a costly Plummer. This company charged only $133 to snake the drain when the others were beginning at $160.... (I should have gotten a clue right there!) The two men came in and immediately began upselling me on different price ranges of snaking then hydrojetting, which came up to the thousand dollar ranges!!! Then when I explained I didn't have that kind of money and didn't appreciate being upsold, I finally got him to get busy. Then instead of sending you a bill in the mail? Oh no! Pay before the work is even complete! Then he only snakes 20 feet.... Didn't work. Then after awhile it plugged again, so he had to resnake it. They got it running and left. This past weekend while running more water doing dishes, it plugged again. Many times this polite young man emphasized his 30 day guarantee but also emphasized the thousand dollar hydro cleaning after I had politely told him in our initial conversation I didn't really like being upsold. Yesterday, Monday morning I called to let them know it didn't work, I was told I would get a call this morning to set up a time with the Plummer. Then I get a call from the office to see if I could receive the call within the hour for the Plummer- uhhhh yes! Plummer called and said he almost reached the mainline and suggested the hydro cleaning, I said logically, and economically it's better to snake it all the way to the main line!!!! He then said he never said that!!!! Yes he did!!!! I asked him with his guarantee if he would come back and snake it all the way to the main line- we'll!!!! The guarantee is the initial $133 just goes towards the next procedure!!! You know when you just get that ugh feeling about a company no matter how polite the people are, listen to that little voice!!! No complaints. I had a water heater spring a leak at 7:00 am. Called Lavergne's shortly after and the person who answered was friendly and helpful. I live well out of town, but she promised someone would be out between 9:00 and 11:00 - maybe earlier. A guy was here before 8:30. I needed a new heater that was a bit if a special order, plus we had to cut some of the framing to get the new heater in through the small opening. They gave me a price and stuck to it. The work was done by mid-afternoon. Evening considering the carpentry, the price was a little higher than I would have expected. I believe I could have had the work done for a bit less. But, they did good work, were prompt, and did exactly what they said they'd do (or better). So, price isn't the only factor. I'll call them next time I need work done. read more
