I have had two fantastic experiences with the LaVigna Bros. They did great work, were very thorough, and the pricing was fair and reasonable (and certainly lower than what I had been paying at the dealership). I brought the car in for its annual servicing and in addition to the excellent servicing, they outlined all the future red flags for my car, and then didn't try to sell me anything. It was just, "So you're aware, here's some stuff to keep an eye on that will probably need to happen eventually." I suspected my battery was in bad shape, which they confirmed (they had double checked it without me even mentioning it), and then gave me an estimate of how much longer I could go safely on the current battery. I do recommend making an appointment. They work quite fast, but they are very popular, for obvious reasons. These guys are truly incredible! A diamond in the rough of scams with mechanics. After reading about these gentlemen on Rye moms, I decided to take my car in. Everything they said about Lewis and the family are so true. Sam went above and beyond to locate my issue and get the car back as soon as possible. Other places wouldn't even touch it without leaving it and who knows how much they would charge. I can't rave enough about this place. First of all, the guys here are humble. If they can't fix something or they feel someone else can fix it more efficiently, they will tell you. I had a broken sliding side door on my minivan. The cable is out. They told me they could fix it but they don't do this repair often and it would take all day. They recommended me to an auto body place that does this stuff all the time and it would cost less. Second of all, they are more than fair and honest. I got a fix-it ticket for a non-functioning brake light. I brought it in to them and they just charged me for the bulb. They could have charged me much more for labor. Finally, they are nice. When you go there, you can't help but have a nice conversation with Louis. He's personable and talkative. So if you are in a hurry, just let him know. So to sum up: I have never had a bad experience here, I have never felt cheated or overcharged, and I have always felt comfortable and important. I highly recommend these guys. I first went to LaVigna Brothers around 2005, on the recommendation of a co-worker, and they took excellent care of my 2 cars over the next 7 years. Louis and his brother Joe have been in business for decades, and they are thorough and reliable. Work was always completed promptly, and they never did work that I did not authorize. Joe would always go over each item that he'd worked on, and also gave me a heads-up on what work might be needed in the future and when, but without any pressure. The only reason I stopped going is that my job moved, and I can no longer get there. Since then, I've consulted with Louis by phone about 2 separate problems with my car, and he has offered his professional opinion. Call me a fan; I recommend them highly. read more

FINALLY- auto care that doesn't rip you off. These guys are amazing. I came in because I was told by another mechanic (we won't name names but he was changing my serpentine belt) that I needed a tune-up. The guys at LaVigna Brothers did a thorough check-up during (A very affordable) oil change and told me to save my money. I'm so happy with the service, I'll never go elsewhere. i have lived in Harrison all of my life, even tho'i have a home in New Jersey, but when I was in Port Chester last week, my car went dead. It was towed to LaVigna's garage by AAA (Paul O"Brien - lives in Harrison) by 7:00 pm. My nephew, Mike Sheehey, checked with Louis at 8:00 the next morning to make sure it could be repaired that day. Louis pulled thru, checked every detail & it was ready by 4:00 pm -- so we could leave that evening for N.J. & Florida. So I am a local resident of the town of Harrison and needed a good garage to go to. A friend of mine turned me on to La Vigna Bros. and they have been my go to place for going on 4 years. The work they do is top notch and shows the value of heading to a business that has been around for 86 years. The only heads up that I will give you is that they are so good that they usually have a waiting list so don't think that you can just pop in and get your car worked on. I went to their shop a little while ago to get some work done on brakes....they gave an estimate (which I later found to be overpriced versus other mechanices in the area)...got the brakes done, but then they did some additional work which I NEVER asked for...then when I complained, they said pretty much "too bad, it's done..you have to pay" VERY rude...VERY unprofessional...never do business with them again read more
