The only reason I am giving this place an extra star is because of its location, and also a decently sized variety of glass/head shop products. But I went in to buy a new Suorin (edge) vape. They had two left, and the first box on top was open already (there was no plastic wrap on it) and the guy insisted (probably because I took a few minutes to look at the others) that I just buy that one. It gets much much better (worse). I said I'd really like to get the one underneath it, as it had the plastic wrap on it. After some sighs he grabbed the one underneath and quickly went to the counter and I bought it for $40 flat. When I get out to my car, the plastic wrap was only made to look like it was sealed. Inside the vape is there... but there is no pod and there are 2 batteries just like all smoke shops, doesn't matter sales are final. So I have a sourin edge with two battery packs, and no pods to fill my juice with. Now buying a disposable one (forgot their name) until I can get some pods for this sourin edge. Even if the pod was in there and it was sealed, I would have only added a star, for the employee was rushing me the whole time. And, now I see why. read more

I was walking by Lavi's in Midtown and needed to get a water and some gum and decided to stop in. Extremely clean convenience store. They have many different types of products. Everything from a wide selection of beers, alcohols, vape and water pipes. The owners were there and were extremely polite. ASK FOR A RECEIPT! The young girl added a $15 "grocery" charge and was completely uneducated about the store and it's inventory. Went in for a titanium nail, she showed me one (she said she had just learned today what a female and male nails were) claimed it was all they had. I pointed to another box of 10+ nails and asked her about them. She said "oh I didn't know we had those". Don't get me wrong, mistakes happen but this other girl was on her phone the entire time not even helping this poor girl that has no idea what she was doing. I bought three items that cost $4.99, I didn't know the price before I asked her, she pointed to the box that said $4.99. Total came to $30+. I asked reassuring she didn't make a mistake, "they are $5 each right?" She agreed and said plus tax. I asked for a receipt. Meanwhile this other girl is still sitting down not even helping this young girl who doesn't know anything about their inventory and either can't use a cash register or is shady when it comes to cash. I stepped out, check the receipt, and immediately went back in. The girl that wasn't helping finally got up and said "oh sorry it might not have been cleared" before she started ringing me up. I don't believe that was the case given the young girls facial expression when I walked back in. I'm not mathematician and frankly you shouldn't have to be to know $4.99 times three plus Nevada's sales tax isn't $30. Shady business ladies! read more

I mean... let's start with the positives. First off, it is conveniently located in Midtown off Virginia street across from Wild orchid. It has late hours and is open when every other shop in town is closed, so there. Now I don't know how you feel about head shops, but from my experience they are not super clean establishments that your local health inspector will grade an A with. They are often very relaxed storefronts where your more likely to smell burning sage or incense then be dazzled by their sanitation. This place goes well beyond any normal consideration for "relaxed" as far as keeping it clean goes. They're so many vermin in here even the bugs need a bouncer out front to keep it from getting to crowded inside. I bought a Yocan pen here, solid deal, he offered me 5 dollars off then reneged when I paid with my credit card making it a 'not-a-good' deal once again, but here where the story gets nuts. I was given he pen in the box with plastic. I said "aren't you going to test it?" And he said the battery would be dead so to charge it overnight. I came back in the next morning, the battery I left charging all night did not work. I just blinked at me when I tried to use it. Going back to the store in the morning another fella behind the register tells me that it should have been checked before I left. I had a receipt and he STILL didn't offer me a refund or a working pen!!! I don't know what kind of third world country you need to come from to keep a place this horribly rancid, but good job at surprising me. I'd hope for your place to go out of business, but you seem to sell enough meth pipes just in the 15 minutes I was there to keep yourself open. You've been warned. read more

I've been there three times. found what I wanted and kept returning. The price was good and the product was good. I went back today and bought the same item. The first 2 times, it was $14.65. Today They charged me $20. It was combined with another item and I just didn't catch it until I had left the store. Someone else in another review here said the same thing, that they will charge you what they feel like at the time. My bad for not catching it right away, but on the other hand, there aren't too many stores that I go to where they would overcharge you when they think they can get away with it. read more

Bongs, bongs, bongs. Before I get to this place, and before you get to this place, you'll pass by A Downtown Barber Shop located in Midtown with a Midtown sign above the Downtown sign. Confused? They do straight razor shaves old school style. I don't smoke cigarettes or cigars although occasionally I do snuff and I'm not fond of pot, so the only reason I came here was for an e-hookah. I never really understood smoking, the purposeful inhalation of a toxic irritant that gives you cancer. Smoke anything gives you cancer. Smoked meats give you cancer. Maybe a smoky cab will give you cancer too. But I've done hookah before, and I rather like inhaling fruity vapor and a rather tepid, mild buzz as opposed to the dizzying, neurotic buzz you get from high-nicotine smokes. Perhaps it's like comparing tea to espresso. Hookah also just seems more exotic and doesn't have all that big cancer baggage and rebellious acned, pre-adolescent vogue. I see kids smoking across a high school and I'm like, wow, you guys are like adults, so rebellious and free - not. Enjoy a significantly diminished lung capacity, cardiovascular health and then cancer. I think hookah is just more classy, especially when nobody seems to thinks it's cool except with the youth of India. Apropos, the counter guy is from India, a very nice, helpful guy. I seriously felt like I was 14 again as he's giving me instructions on how to use an e-hookah. The starter kit, yes, again feeling like a 14-year-old, starts at $20 and includes a free little bottle of flavored "e-liquid." It's believed hookah originated in India and they smoke shisha a combination of tobacco and molasses. I guess the e-liquid has some relation to shisha. They distinguish the level of nicotine starting with none, then 6 mg being low, 12 mg being medium, 18 mg being high, and 24 mg will probably get you very high. I also had the misfortune of trying chew in Hawaii after copious drinking, and I had one of the worst experiences with my hotel room spinning around. I had never tried chew, and I had no idea how much to stuff in my mouth, and I probably took way too much. I don't get nicotine. I get caffeine, not nicotine. The e-hookah is comprised of the battery, the heating mechanism (atomizer), tank (where you put the liquid), and mouthpiece. The difference between an e-cig and e-hookah is that it takes about five minutes to prepare the e-hookah whereas the e-cig is instantaneous. The e-hookah also creates significantly more clouds of vapor, but it quickly dissipates. People may think you're smoking a joint. There are also a significantly wider array of flavors from Kailua and vanilla to all types of fruits. This shop also has loads of bongs, loads. And you thought pot was illegal. read more
