The Hippie Movement peaked with the 1967 Summer of Love. As a Hippie myself, my Hippie friends and I read a lot, spent a lot of time learning and sharing our learning. We had container gardens over-flowing with vegetables and flowers and weed, and we brewed our own beers. Some had chickens. We became experts at salvaging and re-purposing. We traded and bartered as we had little cash. We loved classical and jazz music then invented our own blues, folk and rock music. We got around by walking, mountain bikes, our beloved VW "People's Car" buses or little put-put boats we'd salvaged. We were pro-Peace. We put on the holiday parades.
