Recently, I had a rare issue when one of my builder gel nails cracked just a few days after my appointment. I contacted the salon and they took care of it right away. I really appreciated how easy they made the whole process and how much they cared about making sure I was happy with the result. This was my second time in two weeks at Lavish nails. My first experience was great my second not so much. I believe my tech was new and I understand that hands on training is needed but geez this is a rough looking gel manicure. I've been growing my nails and while she was doing them two broke so I just asked for all of them to be cut short. They were shaped uneven and I had to ask twice to have my cuticles cleaned up at which point she barely touched them. The nail polish was put on messy and since it was gel it's kinda just stuck in clumps in areas. She ended up cutting me trying to fix it. I ended up asking for the nails file to clean up what I could myself. Like I said, I understanding being new (which I am assuming she was) but before having a new tech work with people perhaps making sure they are properly trained is a good idea, especially at the prices you're charging. read more

I've been coming to LN for almost a year now and I found the tech I absolutely loved and did a perfect job, never once had an issue or a broken nail. She recently left so I had to go with a new tech, Diane. First off, she's very rude and short with customers. Ok fine, I can deal with that if she's a good tech, I'm not there to be her friend. So I got my first set of nails with her and she couldn't do nail art but gave me nail decals instead which I wasn't too fond of but went with it. She made an excuse why shouldnt make two of my nails the same size, even though my last tech could. Then, two of my nails broke right away, which never happened with my previous tech. When I went back for fills, my appointment was at 11am and she didn't even show up to the building until 11:35am, so that was irritating and unprofessional. She then told me that what I wanted was "outdated" so I changed my mind on it, when I left, my gel nails were immediately smudging and lifting but couldn't go back bc I had to go to work. They looked horrible!! I went back the very next day and told her what happened and that all the edges looked very bad, so I wanted to change the entire thing. She told me to wait an hour and I said i couldn't wait that long so she said a half hour, I said I could get any tech to change my color. Two people walked in right after I sat down to wait, they had no appointments and asked "do you have time for us", and they were taken back immediately for mani and pedis even though I only needed a color change and was there first!! When I finally got called back (a full half hour), she advised me that it would cost me $25 to change the color or free if I wanted a "touch up" even though she ruined my nails. I feel that it was so incredibly unprofessional and I'm not sure if I'll be returning at all. I'm looking for a new nail shop. read more

I was a walk in one evening and had an average experience I otherwise would have not left a review for. When asked for the shape, I said square and was describing flat and thin, for my medium acrylic style. The lady who prepped my nails said square is square and not to do the acrylic too thin because that could be damaging of course! IMO sometimes medium square looks bubbled at the tip and I like them square like you see long nails, which was what I was trying to communicate... the nail tech who finished definitely delivered on the thinness. I was skeptical at first but they were approaching closing time so I left without saying anything. I was worried the set wouldn't last as long as they could because of how thin they were and how rough I can be with my hands. The next morning I mustered enough courage to go in after they opened. Again the previous tech did nothing wrong, however when I asked for another layer of acrylic, I was met with hostility. However, Leo saved the day for me. He assured me he would fix it to my liking and kept the crisp square shape. I was offered a complimentary drink and felt at ease rather than guilty. Leo was very kind and patient and made the experience worth it. I'm very happy with my nails, and feel like Leo should be recognized for his warm welcoming into the business. Everyone has their good days and bad days, and this goes to show you that a little kindness can go along way. read more

It looks fancy, spacious, and they provide free drinks and all, but they've cut and made me bleed twice on separate occasions, they've missed applying polish towards my cuticles (not full coverage, so only the top part had color), and I only ever get pedicures. Every single time I came, without fail, the lady owner would push for me to upgrade my pedicure or do a manicure. I'd say no multiple times, and she'd still hound me to upgrade and pressure me! Super aggressive and relentless upselling! It's like I already said no, I'm not gonna change my mind! Totally put me off and made me feel uncomfortable and just pissed, so I stopped going there! I gave up trying salons with good technicians in Pleasanton. I tried Sandy for a regular manicure and I'm so happy I can get my nails well done in a very relaxing environment. With Sandy my regular nails last at least 1 week. She has attention to details. The place is clean, products don't have strong smell like in other salons. It's cozy and quiet there. Sandy does facials as well and massage your neck, hands and feet. Where do you find this kind of treatment around Trivalley for reasonable prices? I think Lavish is the only place. If it's relaxation and well done nails you are looking for then I can recommend Sandy. read more

Oh how I wish I could give zero stars to this disappointing business! I did not want to do this but after my awful time here and service, I need to warn others about what I experienced. I had a French pedicure done on Wednesday that cost $65. During the service, the nail technician started applying the white tip without putting down a base color.(Never in my life had I seen a nail tech do that in my 30 years of living) I had to point it out myself, and she didn't seem to know how to fix it?? I'm sorry, what...The owner eventually had to come over and instruct her on what to do. Later that same evening, after wearing shoes for a short time, I noticed one of my toes had already smudged. This was several hours after my appointment, so I was confused about how the polish could still be soft. I didn't have time to return before my event and decided to overlook the small smudge, even though it was disappointing for a $65 pedicure. The real issue came on Saturday, three days later. I wore closed-toe shoes for a few hours during my very special event, and when I took them off, the polish had completely smudged and rubbed off multiple toes. I've had countless regular pedicures over the years and have never experienced anything like this after only three days!!! Truly unreal. I went back to the salon to explain what happened. The man at the front told me that polish is "never guaranteed to last." He offered to redo the pedicure, BUT ONLY IF I MADE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT AND CAME BACK ANOTHER DAY. Because that is exactly what I want to do, spend more time on another day in this business!!! I asked to speak with the owner, and he initially told me she wasn't there, even though I could clearly see her in the salon. After I pointed that out, she came over to speak with me. She also said their policy doesn't allow refunds and again only offered to redo the pedicure. Unfortunately, that solution didn't make sense. The event I had gotten the pedicure for had already passed, and I didn't want to spend even more of my time returning to fix a service that should have been done correctly the first time. I understand that accidents happen, but this wasn't just one issue, it was a combination of poor technique during the appointment, a pedicure that disastrously failed after only three days, being told polish isn't expected to last, and then feeling like I wasn't being dealt with honestly when I asked to speak with the owner. For the price I paid, I expected much better quality and much better customer service. WILL NEVER EVER RETURN BACK TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT- MARK MY WORDS. I truly hope this place can learn from their awful mistakes and moving forward properly give clients a pedicure worth 65 dollars AND to not lie straight to their faces. Disgusting. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. My visit to Lavish nails was the most humiliating salon experience I've ever had. I was attended to by Lina, who looked unsure from the start but said she could do a wine-toned ombré manicure. I showed her several clear reference photos. Instead of being upfront that they didn't have the color for powder dip, she began experimenting with random pinks and purples that looked nothing like what I'd asked for--then insisted it was the same thing. When I disagreed, she unilaterally switched to a pink French tip without asking, as if my input didn't matter and then pushed me to agree to it. From that point, it only got worse. Staff members kept circling her station, talking in another language, staring, nodding, and shaking their heads in visible judgment--as though I was the problem. The energy in that room was hostile. I sat there being discussed, dismissed, and made to feel small for simply knowing what I wanted. Looking back, I truly wish I had walked out right then instead of trying to make it work. When I finally suggested a simple cat-eye design to end the ordeal, Lina snapped, "First you want ombré, then French, then cat-eye--what do you want?" I stayed calm, let her know that they did not have what I want and asked to compare two colors, and she began slapping the nail-polish bottle against her hand, shouting "Final! Final!" and rushing me to pick a color while others looked on. She told me the manicure would last three weeks--it started chipping in just nine days, and even from day one the polish wasn't applied evenly. Several nails had polish missing along the sides, and the finish looked rough and unfinished. That says everything about both the service and the quality. As a brown-skinned customer, I couldn't ignore the clear difference in how I was treated versus others. The tone, impatience, and lack of respect said everything. This place may have high ratings, but it's deeply unwelcoming, dismissive, and tone-deaf toward anyone who doesn't fit their idea of the "ideal" customer. If you value professionalism, skill, and basic courtesy, avoid this place. No one deserves to pay for an experience that feels this degrading. read more

I debated posting this but it has been a few weeks since my pedicure and I'm still so bothered by it. Please read to the end. Me and my two friends came in for basic pedicures. One color, no design, regular polish. The first thing that irked me was during my callous scrub, the man kept stopping to show me the dead skin he had taken off and proceeded to show my friends. He did this multiple times. It was weird and very unnecessary. But the thing that bothered me the most was at the end of our service, without being asked, we all had pictures of our feet taken. These were not aesthetic pictures that might be used for social media (remember we got the most basic pedi), but rather pictures that were quickly snapped with odd angles (the man showed me mine and I was taken aback by how ugly he placed my feet/toes). In the moment I thought it was weird, but didn't say anything or ask what it is for since I was so confused. I now wish I had. I'm worried these pictures are for other uses... I hope I am wrong and that pictures of our feet wouldn't be sold without our consent, but I can't stop thinking about the whole interaction. It was extremely uncomfortable and it seemed off.
