I have never had a successful gel manicure that didn't lift within a week... until Vee. Whatever her technique is, these nails are staying on unless you literally break one. Vee is super friendly and chatty, and personally I love that. I genuinely enjoy our time every visit and it never feels rushed or awkward. The studio is in her home, but it's completely separate and downstairs -- just the garage and her nail space. It's all pink, pretty, private, and zen, and she always plays great music. Unfortunately, my experience during my most recent visit was not up to the standard I've come to expect. First, the salon advertises a 5% discount for cash payments. However, when paying in cash, I was told they do not provide change and my total was rounded up to the nearest dollar. While the amount was small, it felt misleading and took away from the advertised discount. More importantly, my pedicure service felt rushed with Timmy. I requested a square shape for my toenails, but my big toenail was cut crooked. I didn't notice until after the service was completed. The polish application was also uneven, and my pinky toenail was only partially painted, with a noticeable portion left uncovered. Because I've had positive experiences here in the past, I'm disappointed to be writing this review. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but the quality of this service did not reflect the level of care I've previously received. I'm not sure if I'll be returning.

Kevin was extremely personable and I loved talking with him. He shaped my nails exactly how I wanted them: a cross between almond and stiletto. I absolutely love them! It was also extremely affordable compared to some shops in San Francisco or Oakland where I usually go. Total with tip for gel manicure was just over $50. I will come again when I am in the area.
