Tony is the man! There are a lot of gardening services around, but Tony is special. He was the…read morefastest one to reply to my inquiry, and it was only fair to check out my lawn in person to give me a proper estimate. He came to my house for the scheduled consultation and gave me the best price. After seeing my lawn, I asked if he could fix my sprinkler and lay out landscape fabric and mulch to prevent weeds and maintenance. He said he would measure what I need once he finishes the lawn cleanup, which I liked. The day came, and he cut my grass and cleaned up the weeds in my lawn. He also capped a broken irrigation line I had from the previous owner of the house without any issues and installed the new sprinkler I had mentioned. He measured my lawn and gave me the price for the mulch with a landscape barrier. I agreed, and he went to Home Depot to pick up the materials in his truck. When he came back, he laid down the barrier and mulch to perfection. He also went the extra mile by removing the sprinkler heads that aren't needed anymore, which I appreciate about him. All in all, Tony is the man for the job. He's easy to communicate with, and he works hard. I will recommend him to my neighbor, who is looking for a new gardener, and will hire him again for my next lawn project. Thanks, Tony!

We had Jose's team come in for biweekly maintenance of our plants…read more We have these vines in the back. I ask his guys to slowly take them down. I don't mind taking it slow. I then ask Jose if he would do an off-cycle cleaning where they take down all of the vines all at once. He quotes me $700 or something stupid like that. I decline. His guys come back. I ask them to keep going with a methodical removal. They say no, because Jose told them to stop. I call Jose and ask if they can continue with the slow but steady removal. He says no. It's unbelievable that I'm paying them to maintain my garden, but by saying no their up charge, he now REFUSES TO MAINTAIN A PLANT THAT'S PART OF THE GARDEN!? Unbelievably unprofessional. This is not how to run a business. Run, don't walk away from this fool

I called José for lawn service…read more Jose ask for pictures I sent him pictures. Jose asked for a time period to come by (morning or afternoon)and I gave him the ok and made myself available. Jose happen to pull up in Front of my house walked forward not saying good morning or anything when he saw me he immediately looked perplexed like he was no longer a gardener?!???! I ask if he was with a company (I was expecting a different service this day as well) and he said no he's here for gardening with a confused type expression on his face. Jose asked me how long has it been since my yard was cut and I told him 2 months because my guy retired and he told me "No...it's been a year!". ???excuse me??? I'm thinking is this guy serious. I don't know why it mattered or even why I explained to him the timeline my guy last cut it. I mean...hello...that's why I called him. I don't need to lie or why he would accuse me. So after I explained like an accused girlfriend with the psycho bf Jose said "no ...I'm experienced it's been a year". No he didn't....Yes he did. I said ok whatever Jose what's the estimate? Cause the guy didn't talk any business he just immediately went into this thing about how long it's been since the grass was cut to make an excuse for whatever his true issue was but then Jose says "let's cut to the chase I can't cut it because the grass is too high for his tools and they may break.?????? Excuse me!?!? Your tools will break?!?! Lol No he didn't . Yes he did! Appalling. The nerve of this guy. You're a gardener bro. You cut grass to get money and your tools will break if you cut high grass??? Ha We live in Long Beach California! Not the rain forest ....and definitely not the high grass of the Ol Dixie States. I been around the sun plenty to know what I was dealing with here. This guy Jose was making excuses for what he really feels. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this guy, he is unprofessionally unprofessional. If you look up unprofessionally unprofessional bigot gardener in the dictionary it would be a picture of this guy giving a thumbs up.

We contacted a few people through Yelp, but Fernando was the most responsive over the phone via text and phone calls. After sending him some pictures for a rough quote, we were able to schedule an in person visit from him to provide a more accurate quote. We felt it was very reasonable and competitive to other quotes we received, so we went with him. He was able to get his team over to our place the very next day, and within an hour of his friendly and respectable team arriving, our overgrown patio was cleaned up like we had never seen it before! They were so efficient and got to work immediately, and we are so happy with the results. Fernando even provided some advice via text about what mulch to buy so as to repel mosquitoes and insects. As you can tell in the before and after pictures, the difference is night and day, and anything that was trimmed back like our roses will grow back even better. We would recommend Jesus Lawn Maintenance to any of our friends and family, and we will definitely use them again in the future!

We originally had recurring lawn and shrub trimming for our front yard, but due to a lack of detail and inconsistent quality, we scaled it back to lawn-only. Our shrubs were often chopped in odd ways, as if the trimmers were run through them quickly and haphazardly. We eventually decided it was better to maintain our bushes and shrubs ourselves. The lawn mowing and edging are generally good, but we were really disappointed to find that the trunks of our young perimeter shrubs had been damaged. It seems that because the mower couldn't fit, an edge trimmer was used around the trunks, but without enough care, resulting in deep nicks to the thin bark. Another example of poor attention to detail.

We received four different estimates, all in a similar price range, but what set McLandscape apart was their exceptional customer service. Their attention to detail and commitment to clear communication throughout every stage of the project made all the difference. We always felt informed, heard, and confident in the process. The final result exceeded our expectations--we absolutely love our new backyard! A special shoutout to Leo, the foreman, who was a huge plus throughout the project. He was always available, responsive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. We highly recommend McLandscape to anyone looking for quality work and a team that truly cares about their clients.

I am fond of saying you can tell the quality of a company by how they respond when things go wrong…read more tl:dr; in the case of MC, the answer is not at all. Here are all the things that have gone wrong: I discovered the hardware they used for my lighting and my sprinkler were the base models, despite paying top doller. The owner lied on google maps claiming they put in a higher system. I posted pictures of the base models. No reply. I had to buy after market not so great adapters to get smart access to my lights and sprinklers. They put a chip in my pony wall while installing (years ago) and promised to come back to fix it. They never did. I recently found out from a neighbor who sees a part of my yard I normally don't that I have a sprinkler that is just pouring onto the walkway. That was a few days ago and I haven't had time to look at it. A good company would come out and fix it for me. Given how they haven't fixed anything else yet, I'll have to fix this myself or pay a reputable company to take a look. Half of my lights don't work. Again, I have zero hope that they will repair the lights. I had to replace nearly every plant they chose because it either didn't match my plans or because they weren't suited to the climate here and didn't survive (lest you blame me, every plant I chose to replace it with is thriving. How do you choose plants that can't survive in a region where everything survives?) The owner said on my google review that he had tried to reach me "several times" and I told him not to call.... I have been begging for them to make these things right for years.. I have had no calls. I figured out he was probably calling the wrong number and the person kept telling them that and finally said to stop calling. I sure as hell didn't say it. I would still like them to come fix the pony wall, the lighting, and the sprinklers, and make it right that I paid thousands for plants that had to be replaced within a year. Instead, they are resting on their mostly high reviews figuring mine will get buried and no one will care. Which is why I'm on yelp now as well as google. Here's what you can learn from the reviews. When things go right, MC is great. I do love the layout they created and the work by the actual workers. They were diligent and hard working. The price was high but fair given the amount of curved pavers I had in the plans, it seemed reasonable. (This is assuming there weren't so many problems.) But if you have an issue with them, good luck. Years of me leaving voicemails and reaching out to no avail. They knew about the pony wall before they even finished the project. There is ZERO excuse for not fixing that before they were done. Now years later, any work won't match well. I'm just livid at this company. 75 grand and this is how I've been treated. Unreal.

They quoted us $450 for the repair, which entailed cutting off our sprinkler where it was rusted galvanized steel and replacing it with PVC pipe. This in turn ended up re routing our system, rending a large chunk of our sprinkler system useless, due to the steel not being able to be connected to the original system unless we wanted to pay for more repairs. We were quoted around the same (around $500) to connect our sprinkler system again so it would work, on top of the original repair, in which we did not move forward. At first, I was fine with a quote of $450 assuming it was going to be a complicated repair with fancy parts but when I saw the work that was done, it changed my mind. Total labor time was maybe 30 minutes and it was simply digging up where the sprinkler was broken and rerouting the pipe with about $15 worth of PVC and that was it. The gentlemen who came out were kind and helpful so I don't like to leave bad reviews however I feel like we were totally ripped off and charged way more than appropriate to the point where I feel extremely silly I didn't call around to other places and feel like we got played.
