Save your money and hire someone else!!! My upfront $250 "inspection and minor repairs" turned into almost no repairs, a $3,725 estimate (not including all of my requested work), and one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I've ever had. Owner BURNIE LENAU denied what he had documented in writing, raised his voice during our conversation, and ultimately hung up on me when I tried to resolve the issue. Before scheduling, I explained exactly what I needed repaired and specifically asked whether the $250 inspection included minor repairs such as repairing broken sprinkler heads, repairing drip irrigation, and addressing my leaking spigots. Burnie told me yes and later emailed a written summary that specifically included "replace spigots" and "repair drip system as needed." The technician arrived on time and was courteous, but he told me he could not repair the leaking spigots, did not repair my drip system, and did not repair or cap my broken sprinkler heads. After nearly two hours at my home, the only repair completed was turning off one unused sprinkler head with a screwdriver. A few days later, I received a $3,725 estimate that didn't even include replacing the leaking spigots. To make matters worse, a friend later fixed every leaking spigot by simply tightening them with a wrench. When I called Burnie to discuss my concerns and request a refund, he stated he never said he could repair or replace the spigots even though his own email specifically states "replace spigots." He became confrontational, denied our earlier discussions and the written scope of work, raised his voice, refused to provide a timeline for following up with his technician, and ultimately hung up on me. He later refused any refund. I understand that not every repair can be completed during an inspection. My disappointment is that I paid based on a written scope of work that I don't believe was substantially performed, and when I tried to discuss it professionally, I was treated in a way I did not expect. My advice: DON'T hire them, but if you do, get every promise in writing, ask exactly what the inspection fee includes, and don't pay upfront unless you're comfortable with those terms. read more

This company is a huge disappointment. I needed a sprinkler valve repaired. They charged my CC $400 over the phone before they came out to evaluate my problem. That should have been my first clue that they were crooks. Then the geniuses they sent over-glued the valves with blue glue so much so that a portion of it broke off and clogged the system and I actually tipped these guys. I had to call someone else to fix it. Do not use these people. Wish I had read reviews because something similar happened to another unsuspecting soul. read more

We had a replacement of our entire front yard with sod, trees, decomposed granite in two locations, drainage, new sprinkler system, new spigots. Amazing work, efficient, lowest quote we got and we got quite a few- plus the work was done almost immediately with constant communication about phases of the project. We have very young children and pets and the workers were always so respectful of safety issues while working but still allowed the kiddos to watch them. They were mindful of gates and noise and mess the whole time- won't ever go with another landscaping company. 10/10 experience! read more

I recently hired this company through a recommendation from a friend to remove a couple small trees near my pool equipment and was very pleased with their service and results and here's why. They actually showed up on the day they said they would, they completed the job on time, and when they were done they cleaned up everything and even cleaned the street out in front of my house! I have seldom been more disappointed. To start, Lawnman requires you to pay a non-refundable fee of $250, which can be applied towards the cost of repairs. This fee is supposed to cover a "comprehensive" evaluation of the sprinkler system, both front and back. However, they never even stepped foot in my backyard. They came, assessed the situation, and replaced a pair of valves, which apparently were not the actual problem, costing me over $500. This did not resolve the issue; they later discovered that my controller box was sending a faulty signal to the valves they had just replaced. This led to an additional charge of $360 for another installation. I ended up ordering the exact same controller on Amazon for $179 and installed it myself in under an hour. Lawnman's response was that they "showed up on time, did what we said we would do, and gave you the opportunity to resolve your issue(s)." My reply is that their goal should be to solve the problem in a cost-effective manner, rather than just doing what they promised. I truly appreciate a job well done and recognize the expertise required to perform it, but over $900 for what seemed like a simple repair is excessive. Why didn't they check the controller box first instead of replacing two valves? On the upside, this experience has renewed my inspiration to fix any future issues myself. read more

Over the last few months, I have scheduled three service calls for irrigation projects at my home. They included valve replacements, terminating and capping one section of sprinklers and converting one section of pop up sprinklers to a drip system. I have been very pleased with the results. Tells me to call my office ( they r closed this early) then tells me "the law" that they can start at 8am. So they know they r being jerks but don't care. I stumbled across the website for Lawnman Inc looking for someone to do sprinkler repairs. On the website there was a spot to request a quote which I completed. I received a call back the same day, from Bernie. I explained what I needed and Bernie was super helpful, talked me through some options and set me up with an appointment with Brian. Brian was also super helpful, instantly diagnosed the problem with my sprinkler system, which was mainly operator error. He made the corrections and gave me helpful information to keep up with my system. He made repairs to the sprinkler heads to make sure they were efficiently covering the yard space. Used Lawnman to remove 3 Birch trees that had died and one other tree that also had died. Their men arrived on the scheduled time and went about their business. I was plelased of how professional they were and had they explained what they were doing and how. They were able to make sure that they didn't damage my drip system and that my yard was cleaned up of all debris . I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to anyone. read more

The bid they gave me was $2k to replace a timer so I'm out $400 just for them to confirm what I already knew. I asked about the break down in labor and they refused to answer. Was told that the earliest that they could come and look at my broken sprinkler system was 4 days from now, but only if I paid them a $200 deposit to make "an appointment". Allegedly that amount would apply to any work they would do. Also they would check the problem and give you an estimate for the job. They also require a credit card before anyone would come out. I have a leak near a cluster of valves in my sprinkler system. Could be water main, valve, piping, I don't know. Brian turned up, and did nothing but take a brief, cursory look, no real inspection, no diagnostic (didn't dig around, or turn off the water supply, etc). And then he charged me $125. For basically showing up. He then gave me a quote of $2,000. To fix a valve. Or a pipe. Outrageous. Subsequent bids, btw, have come in at $500 to $650. So definitely shop around. These guys are over the top, and everyone uses the same valves and pipes, so..... why? read more

This company does not deserve to be in business. Their game is to get you to make a $250.00 deposit in order to schedule an appointment. Then they tell you they can't make the appointment for several weeks later. Then they say the deposit is non refundable, and they have a recording to prove it. Obviously they have dealt with this issue with other unsuspecting individuals. A few days later, we cancelled the appointment because we could not wait that long to complete our drip line repair. They provided no service and incurred no expense and yet they refused to refund our deposit. Quite a racket. read more

Horrible work, Horrible communication, Horrible follow through. Used them for my companies office. Id ask them not to trim the plants into a square or circle, the next week they'd be out there trimming them into squares. Than say the original supervisor wasnt there to tell them not to. I asked for the irrigation to be looked at, seems like thats all they did was LOOK because it still didnt work which caused new plants to die. I asked for the dead plants to be replaced and only one was replaced with a flower plant, which I specifically said no flowers. So we have all these plants and one flower plants thats seasonal so its just green stems sticking out of the ground. Lastly, I asked them to perform an extra job, owner and I agreed on a price but when I got the invoice it was more than doubled. The crew exaggerated their time here. I know because I timed them and I was told we were being charged drive time. I was never told about drive time, I would have never agreed to that. They are no longer our landscapers and now we have 2 dead plants and a "flower" plant that we have to pay a second time to replace. I would not use this company! read more

This is a horrible company. They may do a nice job on your yard, however they will destroy the yards of your neighbors because they are too lazy to do their jobs correctly and with any sense of pride. They have been maintaining the yard next door to my house for years, and every single Friday, they take their blowers and blow all of the dirt, leaves and trash under the fence and into our yard and all over our cars and driveway. Despite numerous complaints to the company, they continue to do this EVERY SINGLE WEEK. I now plan on filing a complaint with the BBB as well as sending them an invoice for the clean up that our yard requires weekly due to their negligence and poor work. Shame on you lawnman. Two years ago we hired Lawnman to re-landscape our fairly large backyard. We agreed upon a price of $15,000. A workgroup lead by a very pleasant and helpful foreman by the name of Tony Garcia proceeded with the clean-up and the new construction. The work began on June 1st and consisted of a walkway, a rock river using a present drain, topping off a large flower planter with garden soil and the installation of a complete drip watering system. The design was designed to achieve a low maintenance back garden. After approximately two months on and off work due to very hot weather, the unfinished work stopped. We were later informed that the foreman Tony Garcia had terminated his job, which apparently terminated the unfinished project. Many of the newly installed plants died although the three zone drip system was apparently completed. After a period of waiting for Lawnman to come and finish the contract, which had been paid, we contacted Lawnman to obtain information as to when to expect completion of the project. Meanwhile, it became obvious that the fill for the planter was highly contaminated with grassy-like weeds, which apparently does not seem affected by insecticide. A portion of the dirt in excess to what was needed in the planter was dispersed over part of the grounds on to of the weed barrier and is also highly contaminated with the same grassy weed. As we did not hear from Lawnman again, we recently contacted Lawnman again, to get our backyard brought into an acceptable condition, requiring trimming of a tree, several rose bushes and a knowledgeable programming of the drip system as well as weeding. A group of three persons worked for about one hour and a half for which the price was $265.00. At the same time, we entered into a written contract that required Lawnman to furnish on a person to work one day each month to maintain the garden, which would be the last Thursday of each month. Today it has been a no-show without explanation. Requesting someone to come and explain the no compliance to the agreement resulted in the appearance of two supervisors, who determined that the three zone valve system had one defective valve, causing one zone to not function, thus the death of the original and replacement plants and others. Also, the now overdue maintenance was highly visible. We were then informed that Lawnman would come on the following Tuesday and perform the work that was needed.
