So today, I asked for a receipt, and I was told there is a commission fee if you use your card. Seriously what? Who carries cash anymore? And what you see when you are rung up is NOT what you are paying, it's always more if you use your card, and you don't see what it is until they hand you the receipt, which they always ask if you want one because they don't really want to give you one, so you don't notice the charge. That is so incredibly shady. To top it off, they have a terribly handwritten sign at the counter explaining the "commission" charge. Never again. Another customer entered followed by the cashier and was served. After that customer left, I approached the entrance at approximately 9:47 PM. The posted closing time is 10:00 PM, and the store hours online also indicate a 10:00 PM closing time. As I reached for the door handle, the cashier quickly closed the security gate, locked the door, and walked away. When I knocked on the door, he turned around and simply said, "We're closed," despite it being before the posted closing time. He then shut off the lights and left through the back. What disappointed me most was not being unable to make a purchase--It was the way I was treated. I was polite, have been a regular customer for years, and was simply trying to buy a small item. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude, disrespectful dand dismissive. I hope management reviews this situation and reminds employees that customers deserve to be treated with basic courtesy and respect, especially long-time patrons.

He told me to wait a moment before emerging from behind the counter and plastic shield with peroxide, gauze and bandaids. Guiding me to a corner of the store he had me hold my arm over a wastebasket so that he could rinse my wounds with peroxide, dry them very carefully, and apply the bandages. He refused any payment for his help. and restored my shaken faith in humanity, A small, humane gesture that I won't soon forget. Over the last few months they've been able to keep a constant stock of cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, and hand wipes. The staff at Park Place Market are friendly and extremely handful whenever you are looking for a particular item. This is the type of market that if there becomes a big enough demand for something they would make an effort to try to obtain that item. Time to address the elephant in the Yelp review, yes everything is more expensive than it would be at the grocery store. You are paying for the convenience of having a market right in your neighborhood. They also have a $10 minimum for debit or credit cards but you can easily get to that minimum if you are grabbing a few items.
