It was refreshing to come to a deli that didn't have an overwhelming menu. When it was my turn to order, the interaction felt very personable. I ordered a Turkey Pastrami & Provolone sandwich and my girlfriend ordered a Turkey and Provolone (not pictured). The overall assembly of the sandwich was perfect. The bread is sourced from D'Amoto's (IYKYK) ‍. The meat was thinly sliced but they didn't skimp at all. The hot peppers were the star of the show though. On a busy Saturday, I decided to order ahead for myself and my hangry kids. We ordered Italian, tuna and prosciutto subs. We also threw in an order of tiramisu and the large canoli. We were quoted a time of 20 minutes out. We arrived a little early and the gal at the counter told us it would be a few minutes. She called out when ready and sat at one of the tables in the front to eat. Each sub had a decent amount of filling. While we each offered the smallest subs, we were plenty full when we left. We enjoyed our subs and now have a place to add to our list for a new quick lunch. For the store itself, they have some odds and ends but many Italian staples. 02/10/26 - Today I was on Taylor Street & wanted to grab a bite to eat. I saw a Potbelly on the corner & thought I might stop there. As I parked this large Chevy Suburban parked in front of me. As I sat in the car & saw one person after another unloaded & head towards Potbelly. In all I counted 8 guys unloading from this Suburban. & head to Potbelly. I'm like oh hell no. That's when I saw CONTE DI SAVOIA @ 1438 W Taylor Street on the north side of Taylor Street. I decided to cross over & check out this old world Italian Deli. Conti Di Savoia is small Italian grocery store w/an Italian deli that has w/outstanding & inexpensive sandwiches. When I went in there was a line of people waiting @ the deli counter waiting to place their order. I must have looked confused because the owner directed me & told the line started on the other side towards the back of the store. What I found was an awesome of fresh handmade sandwiches for a very reasonable price. I ordered an 8" pastrami w/mozzarella cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, red onions, mayo, & Italian oil drizzled. What I got was an awesome inexpensive sandwich loaded with/fresh ingredients. Absolutely delicious. After I got my sandwich the owner (I introduced myself (I think his name was Mike) rang up the sandwich. He said they have been there for 35 years. There's also a small dining area in the front of the store where I sat & devoured my sandwich. Like I said this is small Italian store w/a nice selection of products like meats, cheeses, pastas, wine, olive & deli items. I throughly enjoyed finding Conte Di Savoia. The pastrami sandwich was awesome w/a generous portion of pastrami & toppings for a reasonable price. I'm the type of person who who loves finding new places to eat. Most times unless I find great food & reasonable prices I won't go back but I feel like I found a real gem W/Conti Di Savoia. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN. read more

Came in on a Friday afternoon and it was such a nice day out. They have so many options on the menu but we got their Italian sandwich instead and it was so good. I think I posted once before about this wonderful little Italian store and deli, but I cannot sing their praises enough. It is very nostalgic for me to go there they used to be in another area when I was younger, and my grandma used to take me and I remember her making a snail stew. I don't know the pronunciation of it so I'm not even gonna try but I remember them having the bushel with the fresh snails live and then she would come home and put them in the pot and I'm not sure if she said if they stick to the pot they're good or if they float they're not good vice versa I'm not sure but my God it was so delicious. I had high hopes for this place. It's an authentic Italian deli with a market that has all your classic favorites including pasta, cookies and more. I ordered a turkey sandwich. They forgot all of the condiments I asked for including the giardiniera (extra cost) which was super disappointing. The bread was probably the best part of the sandwich. It was nice and soft. I was in the area and looked into a little help from Yelp to suggest a good place for a quick lunch. An authentic deli and sandwich shop? Count me in, as I have fond memories growing up with Freddy's in Cicero. Surprisingly, they had at least five vegetarian sandwiches to choose from. It was rather difficult to decide, but I ultimately went with their Natalia. I ordered it online so that I had time to walk over. The storefront and interior seating was cute and homey. I received my sandwich and was excited to dig in. I loved the old school deli wrapping! But when I unrolled it I was a bit disappointed in the size of the bread. The fillings seemed adequate, but homemade pesto was advertised as being in it and my sandwich contained none. I also paid 0.50 extra for hot Giardiniera and I was lucky if I counted ten pieces. My total with tax was $9.46. this was not cheap for what I received. The premise of the sandwich sounded good, though. Roasted red peppers, grilled eggplant, homemade mozzarella, and pesto are a great combo. I then went up to the counter and informed them they forgot the pesto. They responded by saying they ran out, but would jarred work? I'm unsure why they didn't offer a homemade container of it from the back of the store. At any rate, I said fine.
