Another fantastic experience. Today we sat outside on the patio. Maddie was our server and she was excellent-friendly, attentive and a lot of fun. Hubby and I I bought two of the seasonal drinks: apple cider mule which was yummy, no taste of any alcohol lol Hubby had the pumpkin something old fashioned which was so good he had two :) We shared the tavern pretzel: it was really good- tasty ( and I didn't use the cheese or mustard dipping sauce, it was that good!). I had the white bbq chicken tacos again, this time with broccoli; yummy all around. Polished them off. Hubby had the Baja fish tacos-- also delicious, with a flavorful mango salsa. He chose the undecided fries, always a great choice. Management here is outstanding. We've been here several times over the years all of which have been really good. I tried their hushpuppies as an appetizer. There are a bunch of deep fried hushpuppies that come with orange marmalade sauce for dipping. Really good for sure. For my main course I got the Smokin Hot Burger which came with hot garlic Buffalo sauce, bleu cheese crumbles, tomato, and coleslaw the latter 2 I had left off my sandwich. This was excellent with the sauce and the crumbles really shining along with the juicy, perfectly cooked burger. They come with a side of undecided fries which is a mishmash of regular fries, waffle fries, and curly fries and are really fun and tasty. The restaurant continues to look awesome and the service has been stellar each and every time I've been here. Proof 124 is definitely a winner for us. read more

We were here on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy. The weight wasn't too bad at 30 minutes. Quaint little town it's in Lawrenceburg. They have a decent beer selection, which I like. They have stout on the menu. I'm not as much of an IPA guy. I got the Baja tacos and they were delicious. They had an excellent mango in the salsa. My older two girls shared a Meatball flatbread. It's crust is made with cauliflower so it's healthy. I didn't even taste it when I snagged a slice. They liked it. My sweetie, got the bacon, avocado chicken club. When I ask her what she thinks about it, she looks at me while chewing and gives me a thumbs up, but does not stop chewing. She has an extra light in her eye and a smile on her face. My German grandmother would call that the pinnacle of love. The Littles got mini cheeseburgers with mashed potatoes and they seem to have enjoyed it. They're hitting it pretty hard. The server was pretty cool. He's a bit of an old dude but down to earth, straightforward, and nose, his stuff. If you ask my youngest, she says he looks like he's been to outerspace, but I would say he looks like a solid fireman to me. First things first: service was excellent. No complaints on that front. But! (But!) I ordered an extra side of asparagus, and for $4 extra, I received a whopping total of 6 pieces of asparagus. Talk about a ripoff. I understand that margins in the restaurant industry are tight, but if they're that tight on a dish, don't offer it. I am so disappointed (and a little irked), that I paid so much to receive so little. My partner got the chicken tenders, which they described as extremely tough and chewy. This is an old fire station converted into a historic bar with a great tap menu and bar, but the food was fantastic. I had a sirloin steak for lunch and asked them to slice it for me. Well done the steak was nice and tender and tasted wonderful and the mashed potatoes were just unbelievable. My wife had to finish them because she loved them so much that she managed to capture them from my plate. She had the walleye which was a basket and she requested that the fries be replaced with a salad and they actually gave her the fries coleslaw and a wonderful dip sauce with the walleye and she loved the walleye. Some really nice additions to the menu and it was a hard decision; however, our amazing waitress Angela J helped us make the right selection and we couldn't have been happier. I started my meal with their loaded potatoe skins. These are a bit above and beyond normal loaded skins. These have smoked chicken in them...so they're healthier ?. Jokes aside, they are very good. Next I had their Ultimate Burger. Big and juicy with plenty of flavor. For me, the onion jam added a bit of sweetness that I am not a big fan of, but all in all it was a really good choice. This is an old firehouse converted into a bar/eatery so it is a bit noisy, but it isn't intended to be quiet and romantic. Our server was very friendly and attentive. They have plenty of drinks on tap, all served ice-cold and refreshing. I went with the Roast Beef sliders, and let me tell you, they're hands down the best I've ever had in any restaurant. The sliders were packed with flavor, and the roast beef was incredibly tender, melting right in my mouth with every bite. Highly recommend these to anyone stopping in! The positive: our waitress was very attentive and top-tier. Something has changed at Proof 124 though. Last year my buddy and I ate there and the food was really good. We both had the pot roast grilled cheese sandwich and felt the food was good. We met again today and none of the food was good. Both of our fries came out really cold and were left. My buddy ordered the Cubana sandwich. He said it was cold and bland. I ordered the Hoosier tenderloin. The menu says it is breaded and deep fried. My sandwich was not breaded and looked to have been cooked on a flat top. It was dried out and leathery. We both agreed when we meet this summer that we will go to a new restaurant. read more

Im a chef by trade of 25 years and I know what fresh flatbreads taste like and to never serve less than hot food. I then ate some of their undecided fries that were so salt they tasted like they took the top of the Lawrys and dumped it on them. I've been to this place several times now, and I always find myself coming back. Every visit has been a great experience. The manager is always actively involved, not just standing around -- they're constantly checking on guests and even personally asked me multiple times how my food was. It really shows they care about the service and the customers. On my most recent visit, my waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive. Even after I accidentally left my card behind, he made sure it was kept safe and returned it to me when I came back. Experiences like that are why this has become one of my favorite places. We had just come from the Spartan race our group of six was starving. The soft pretzel with cheese was delicious. We ordered their undecided fries and we devoured them along with the homemade ranch. It's never the atmosphere, because the place is decorated well and has a fun ambiance. Their service is great too, everyone is always friendly and attentive. Their food has been hit and miss and usually the hit is with their appetizers! This time it was the appetizer too! The Indiana Skins were incredible! We stopped at Proof 124 for the second time this weekend. The first time that we stopped in it was in celebration of my birthday and we just had a couple cocktails. This time we brought a couple of friends with us and had dinner and cocktails. The place was very busy when we arrived at about 6:00 p.m. on Saturday night and we figured there'd be a very long wait but the hostess said 35 minutes and we waited exactly 32 minutes! We did say we would take first available so we ended up eating out on the patio and it was a little breezy and they could have used one more outside heater. Our waiter was quick to come to the table and take our order for cocktails and appetizers. My hubby and I had the big pretzel with the cheese dip and mustard dip, it was hot and fresh and delicious. Our friends ordered the buffalo chicken rangoons and thought they were excellent. I had the Proofs Poison cocktail and didn't care too much for it but last time I was there I had a Bahama Mama and really liked it. For dinner I ordered the Mahi club sandwich and had the undecided fries with it. My hubby had the tenderloin. Our friends had a couple dinner selections, the bourbon glazed salmon dinner and the Wagyu meatballs and spaghetti. Our meals were very good. We also ordered dessert. My hubby and I had the beignets with sauces on the side of caramel, chocolate, and raspberry. The Beignets came out to the table hot and fresh. Our friends ordered the tripple chocolate cake and really liked it as well. I ordered coffee but the waiter forgot to bring it.
