We waited for over an hour for food and finally had to have it boxed up. The food we did get was awful, there was a huge chunk of bone in my son's burger. First timer... Went for drinks & Weds tacos. The tequila sunrise was on special and paired perfectly with the Lawbster tacos. This isn't a skimpy taco either. The order comes with 3 fully loaded lobster tacos in a perfect corn shell with fresh guacamole and a wonderful mango salsa. Chips are included because the lobster pours outta these tacos. We also tried the beef tacos & equally stuffed & came with a nice salsa with a good heat kick. Attention Yelpers! There is a new chef in town. The owner commandeered him /her (?) from the Hilton. And based on the couple of times we have sampled his/her food, this chef is a keeper! Owner Michael has been working hard to give Law's a new, younger face, and he has definitely struck some harmonious chords with us. Guess what? New menus. Still keeping it manageably small, the menu now features prime rib every night. A huge 16 oz. slice will torment your tongue for $25. Tender, juicy, and Med Rare means Med Rare! And the same goes for his 16 oz rib eye $23. You can get a smaller cut for either, but why bother? I love that they make their soups from scratch daily. They always have their clam chowder plus one other that the chef throws together. Today I tasted the new chef's clam chowder. Turns out it was a far better clam chowder than before, a delicious milky herbal broth, thinner (i.e. not a thick pudding consistency) with tons of clams and potatoes, and topped with some chopped fresh tomato. I suddenly find myself in love with that chowder. They still have that awesome house blue cheese dressing that makes me drool over their black and blue steak salad. The 1/2 lb. hamburgers have been revamped so they can be customized with lots of add-ons, including pork belly. Trendy! Since I mentioned pork belly, you will find those golden words (pork belly) on their breakfast menu and also on the club sandwich. And if you are interested in some real adult desserts, perhaps you would like to indulge in a slice of the Chocolate Decadence Cake with Whiskey whipped cream, or the 3 flavored Mousse Sampler that comes in shot glasses with a little added Jack Daniels, Baileys and Kahlua. The waitress also dared to tempt me with a Mint Ice Cream Pie or the Three Berry tart. I was only able to resist because I already had something special waiting at home. Tempt me again next time please? If I had one complaint, the Long Island Ice Tea seemed a bit smaller than normal. Shorter glass. But they sure do mix it well. Lastly, there are a slew of new, younger waitresses. They are doing a great job bringing new life and friendly vibes to this neighborhood haunt. We stopped by Laws in Riverside last Friday night to get down with some karaoke! Located right off the 91 freeway, this dive bar was packed for a Friday night - we even struggled to find parking in their expansive lot. The bar seemed to be split into four main areas: the bar, a pool room, a dining room, and the outdoor patio. Like any dive bar, Laws offers premium stomping grounds for people watching, and intoxicated karaoke only adds to the equation! We grabbed our incredibly cheap drinks from the bar (between $5-6 for a well rum and coke) and began our night on the outdoor patio with exceptionally off-tune singing. While you don't typically go to a dive bar for the food, I'd like to recommend the chicken fingers and ranch as the perfect snack while waiting to duet Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. read more

This placed is hit and miss! Went there Week ago had lunch service and food were both good! Went to have lunch the other day and boy this was a miss ! We were one one of the first people in when they open at 11:00 . Usually they have somebody with menus to seat you take your drink and food orders! Not this visit we seated ourselves. Took awhile for somebody to to take our drink orders . The waitress took the orders and instead of returning with drinks she was talking visiting with bar customers . I just had a soft drink took awhile for her to get that my sis ordered a drink from the bar that after waiting 10 minutes and basically being ignored she came and told us drink was ordered but bartender doing ??? Whatever . I took 2 sips of my coke and told my sister let's get out of here! The waitress came back still no drink we asked why taking so long ? Waitress became very rude and tossed an attitude with so we just got up walked out and told her to cancel the drink! So just depends on the waitress you get . The food is usually pretty good . My husband and I frequently eat at Law's, the food is always good and my husband really likes the prime rib. My problem is while we were eating they seated 2 women a few tables away from us with a dog, it wasn't marked as a service or companion dog. I love animals and have both dogs and cats but wouldn't dream of taking any of them to a restaurant! They have 2 covered patios for dining and should've seated them there. We couldn't get away fast enough and will think twice about returning, I can't even imagine how many health code violations were violated! read more

We have been very apprehensive about going out during this time but a friend assured me that Law's was being very good about social distancing so we decided to go. Went for Karaoke tonight. Grabbed a beer(thankfully ) from the bartender(tall super friendly gentlemen, shouldve gotten his name) on my way out to the patio. Small crowd out on the patio, maybe 20 people max. Grabbed a corner table by myself. KJ was fun and engaging. It was obviously a crowd of regulars, and me. The patio waitress came in and out to service the patio patrons atleast a dozen times in the 2+ hours I was there. Not once was I acknowledged let alone offered service. She literally never once would make eye contact with me even after seeing me go inside 3 more times to get my own drinks directly from the bartender. She even stood directly in front of me 4 times to vape. Still no acknowledgement while serving drinks to and clearing every table BUT mine. Her obvious and intentional ignoring of me made me so uncomfortable that as much as I would love to start going on a regular basis for the Karaoke and fun atmosphere( not to mention great beer prices) I will probably not be back. Went in for dinner Monday August 23rd, terrible server. I didn't get her name but she couldn't bring our drinks on time, they were watered down because the ice melted. Our salads came with our meal, not before. She couldn't tell me what wine they carry. When I was brought my wine glass, it had lipstick on it. This is a problem when I go out to eat because I'm a server and I tend to critique most servers. Management needs to give a training to their staff how to do their job read more

First time we have been to Law's and we've lived in Riverside 6 years, have driven by it hundreds of times. Well, we sat on the patio, have grown accustomed to eating outside since the pandemic, it's actually kind of a nice change of pace being outdoors. One side of the patio was the "Quiet side" the other side is the karioke side. Choose wisely. We sat on the quiet side, I'm there for food not singing. They were waitstaffed light that night, our waitress Jackie or Julia (sorry old brain) was quick to come out, apologized for any delay and explained she was the only one covering the outdoor area. We got our waters fast. And some drinks....and then everything slowed down, way down. It took abit to get our orders in. And then about 58 mins later, we got an apology our food was almost ready. The food wasn't too bad, house soup is made fresh daily, I had cream of mushroom soup. Buttery smooth and epically large chunks and slices of mushrooms. Top sirloin steak came in, the end was cooked well done I asked for Medium Rare, but to my delight further in we hit that nice pink and red meat. Yum. Garlic fries were on par, crispy but not crunchy, and the green beans were slim and a tad overdone but not bad. We skipped on desert as dinner had taken almost an hour to arrive. All in all not a bad plate of food. We've decided to come back on a later day to retry, maybe have dinner sooner. read more
