We've tried the sweet potato hash (forgot to click a picture), vegan hash (for spice lovers), polenta pancakes (half portion), spicy chicken sandwich, breakfast sandwich with bacon, the shakshuka with olives and feta (may not get this again) the variety toast with smoked salmon and strawberry cream cheese! So I went into Layered as a new customer and also new to Yelp, I was shocked at the price of the 10 dollar minosas that I ordered to go with my Togo order which I then understood that it was 10 dollars for the first one and then 1 dollar after, which is awesome with me! But I was by myself and ordered two to go just thinking oh I can go enjoy these on the square and come back and take advantage of the one dollar minosas since I had just been charged for two rounds of not so bottomless with a tip. Great location across for the Courthouse. Had to start with a Dirty Chai Latte to warm up from that cold wind. Cynthia enjoyed the Bottomless Mimosas. Came solo for a quiet breakfast. Cute place, nice sized menu, very different options. I got the Bao buns which were amazing! Portions size could've been more than two. I can go to the Asian markets/restaurants and get 4 for the price that I paid for 2. But the flavor profile was amazing! I also tried the corned beef hash, which was not what I was expecting, but none the less very tasty. The portion size on that was well worth the money. I also got the Nutella latte which was very delicious. I want to come back to try the Israeli dish. I've seen this place often but every time I pass by it's always so busy on the weekends, so I would recommend coming during the week. Staff was nice, 2 were very nice, one was not very friendly. The avocado toast with radish was my healthier option of the two. I would probably make it a point to ask the waitress to make the toast more toasty next time. I stop by Layered a few times a week for my Breve fix and decided it was past time to write a review. Every time I go, they know me by name; know my drink; welcome me and thank me for coming in. They are friendly, efficient and my drink is always just the way I ask for it! Haven't eaten here in quite some time but only because mornings are busy. We decided to go to breakfast here after getting off work this am and we were the only people there to begin with. The place is super cute inside and loved the atmosphere. We wanted some fried items but the fire marshall had told them they couldn't use it so we ordered some waffles and the migas instead along with two coffee drinks and all of it was fantastic. We noticed as we were there longer the more people came in and they all seemed to be regulars. I guess they recently renovated because everyone was commenting on the new look. The fries were cold and stale so I didn't eat any of it. I ordered the Breve coffee and that way decent. It had a nice foam on top. Service was below average. The hostess was unfriendly and treated us like a nuisance. She didn't want seat us because we didn't have a complete party even though half of the restaurant was empty. Hoping to switch up our normal brunch spot, I popped into Layered but won't be changing our go-to anytime soon. The food was okay. I ordered polenta pancakes, but received regular pancakes. Our server wasn't very attentive, so I was unable to ask for my actual order and ended up eating what I was given. They were just pancakes, nothing special. My boyfriend ordered the corn beef hash. Again, just okay. He enjoyed the coffee, and I got hot chocolate which was overwhelming sweet. It was all just okay, but maybe it was just a bad day. Side note: they have a robot thing that rolls food around to the tables, which was very fun to watch. I've never seen one in person. Kids would probably get a kick out of watching it:) read more

I started bringing family and friends and they all fell in love too. Nir is a great owner and has a deep passion in this industry and strives to make every customer happy. It's rare to see the owner in their restaurant as frequently as you'll see Nir. If you're looking for a good laugh, ask about his rental BMW and a deer. Employees know my order without having to ask, and knows that if the back table is open that is where i'll sit. It's fantastic to know that employees care and want to see you happy. I've eaten many things on the menu, but the Vegan Hash with avocado is by far my favorite. It is a great boost to start your morning off with, and the coffee is outstanding as well. I would give this place 2.5 stars but I'll round up to a 3. After seeing all the great reviews for Layered and perusing their brunch menu, I was super stoked to get to try this place out. However, my experience here was subpar at best. It's located in downtown McKinney and has a cute interior set up with a coffee bar for those who want to grab a cup of joe and some pastries. There's several tables inside that accommodate their diners for breakfast, lunch, and brunch. We came for Saturday brunch and made reservations for our party of four just in case it got busy here. When we arrived at 12:30, most tables were occupied but there were several spots open and the restaurant was able to accommodate a few walk-in customers as well so a reservation isn't necessarily needed. We were hoping to partake in their bottomless mimosas but they only offer this on Sunday so we settled for other beverages. Our table started out with the smoked fries to share and also ordered the two toast with smoked salmon and the strawberry balsamic basil. For the entree, I ordered the lox and bagel and my husband ordered the chicken and waffles. Our friends ordered the breakfast burger and the sweet potato hash. The smoked fries came out first and we really enjoyed these. The fries were smoked and then fried so it had a really nice, smoky flavor in each bite. We were eagerly awaiting the toasts to come out next since we had ordered both as starters. The chicken and waffles came out next and then the burger. We found it odd that all our entrees were coming out at separate times and our toasts still hadn't made it out. We were also never given silverware and had to remind our waitress several times before we finally received them one by one as the kitchen was cleaning them. My friend's sweet potato hash came out next and then my lox and bagel at the end. My meal was mediocre and the bagel was super chewy. Toasting the bagel would've made it more palatable in my opinion. My husband's chicken and waffles were also very underwhelming with chicken pieces that resembled frozen chicken tenders. My friend was also displeased with the sweet potato hash since it was drenched in oil. The only entree that seemed to be enjoyable was the breakfast burger. Finally at the end of the meal, our toasts came out. I was utterly disappointed with the toasts. They were on a piece of soft, thin wheat bread (not even toasted) and then had the toppings on. Flavors were bland and definitely not what we expected when we ordered this. Overall, the service was lacking and the food was not any better. I really wanted to like this place and am hoping I just came on an off day since there are raving reviews.
