The biggest tip I can give: always book an appointment--the service is way better when you do. Jenny is amazing with designs (hands down the best!), and her partner Andy does the cleanest polish jobs. They're both super professional and clearly know what they're doing. I've had a few hiccups here and there--like once I paid $70 (plus $10 tip) just to get my nails taken off and filed. My nails ended up super brittle and honestly, it felt like a waste. I wouldn't recommend that service--just get them redone instead. Also, I've been cut before to the point of bleeding (not with Jenny or Andy, but another tech), so just a heads-up. That said, most of the staff here are really good: Sofia is gentle and cleans my nails better than anyone else, even Jenny sometimes. Hannah takes her time and does a great job--super patient and detail-oriented. Julie knows her stuff and is really steady with her work. Sometimes Jenny can feel rushed, so I rotate between techs depending on how I'm feeling and what I want done. At the end of the day, I definitely recommend Nails Allure. What stands out about this salon is their push for the new "dip" system: essentially powdered polish that won't chip and strengthens your nail. I am just NOW seeing dip pop up around places - Avalon definitely adopted this first! You'll see in the number of dip colors they offer. I made an appointment online. Very easy. Picked which pedicure I wanted, any extras etc. they let me know that I would be emailed or texted to confirm which they did. Parking is ample and plenty! I parked right across from the salon. Upon entering it smells divine!!! Like lavender and lemongrass.. not sure what it was but it was so good ! Clean, elegant and quiet too. Not too big, not too small. My nail tech was Kristy. I showed her a picture of the toenail polish design that I wanted and she said "ok, I can do that for you". I chose the full moon pedicure that includes scrub, cream, paraffin wax and a 20 minute massage. It was wonderful and well needed !!! Kristy then began the nail polish and design. She took her time and even then she was quite fast. The design came out exactly as I'd asked. BEAUTIFUL!!! I was so happy and let her know. Kristy was kind and friendly throughout and so was the front desk assistant. There's an ATM inside for cash tip. I had called ahead and had asked if they provided dipped powder nails and was told anyone in the shop could do. The lady who worked on my nails seemed nice as well. A bit difficult to understand her English but, we worked it out. I have been using the dipped nails for several years so I know the routine. When a technician doesn't do things the right way, I can tell right away. So she started off ok, but quickly went in a different direction then what I was used to. When I asked her about it, she assured me it would be ok. Her product line (OPI) was new to me (for this process) as well. As she got into the process, I could see she was having problems with the brushes and the liquids inside the OPI bottles. She kept trying to make them work, but you could obviously see on my nails where the powder would cake up or there would be a streak or the powder didn't cover my nail. She was trying to do a good job, however - the products she was using (OPI) was old and the brushes were stuck together and just not usable. Several of my nails came out with bumps and empty places where the powder color did not cover. She tried several times to fix those places - but it just wasn't happening. They were looking worse. I finally asked the tech to please just finish up my nails and let me get out of there. The product was either old or had not been stored properly or just wasn't for commercial use. Ultimately I asked for the manager and explained what was going on. She offered to fix my nails if I wanted to stay for another hour or I could return tomorrow and she would do. I said no thank you for today, and I don't plan to return tomorrow. I felt sorry for the lady who was doing my nails cause I know she was trying. The positive - the have a huge selection of dipped powder nail colors!
