Stopped here while getting gas. First time trying Layne's. Went through the drive thru. Prices are a bit different than if you look online. In-person prices less expensive than online. However, no drink that came with meals. Unless, they got my order wrong. Otherwise, I thought the prices were fine. Very fast. I got the four finger meal under $10. Cane's. That's what first comes to mind when I think of Layne's. Now it's been a while since I've last been to Cane's so I can't provide the most accurate comparison. Though at least in this battle - Layne's won. The chicken fingers seemed to have an extra layer of crunch with a similar taste. Fries were also crispier. Sauce about the same. I felt the toast was good but Cane's is better in that department. Portions could have been better but can be said for a lot of restaurants nowadays. about 1 or 2 months ago I walked in with my wife to grab some Laynes, and as soon as my wife went to order we overheard a taller look to be manager or maybe a shift leader yelling at a smaller and looked like a younger worker, He was saying words I would never expect someone to say infront of customers such as in the F slur and Loser to another employee, I than asked the very nice worker for his name to make this report. Aaron or Aron you need really need to show your employees leadership, and respect as you are embarrassing Laynes, somewhere I've eaten for years now. Other than that the food was Great!! read more

Stopped by the tower point location Sunday and picked up very old chicken strips. Not crispy at all, warm but definitely not hot. Guess when the students leave town they don't care about the locals. Very disappointed. Fast service but clearly that's thanks to the old chicken sitting under the heat lamp I guess. read more

In the great debate of Lanyes versus Canes... both are good. But the best part about Lanyes is the nostalgia and that you can only get it in College Station. Can't beat the taste of home. I will say though that I prefer the Canes sauce. Lanyes is a staple spot in CStat and a must try. A true taste of Aggieland! read more

The chicken fingers were overcooked and literally half the size they used to be. They were so small that it seemed it was mostly crunchy crust, so disappointed. It used to be the only place in town that I got chicken from. The serving size has diminished, prices increased and quality has gone down. I am sad to say I will not be going back. I was hoping it was just an off day but I have been greatly disappointed the last three times. Im done. read more

Very poor service. Microphone was out when we pulled up so we pulled up to the window and the workers stared at us for a good 10 seconds like we were zoo animals. Was really weird. It then took 15 minutes for our box combo to come out at 2:30 on a Thursday afternoon. No one is here. It should not take that long this is ridiculous, save your time and eat Canes. All i can say is wow, I've been a loyal customer of this location through the ups and downs, then today I pulled up to the drive-in window, only car and noticed the inside only had two people inside... ordered two Boxes, waited and waited to see four cars lined up behind me to order and counted 13 people walk in while I waited 17 minutes after ordering to get two Boxes. Running out of excuses for this poorly managed location. read more

I have eaten Layne's Chicken Fingers for what seems like forever. I graduated from TAMU in 1996 and anytime I was in town Layne's was a necessity. Today we ordered Layne's for a Realtor open house. We got to the house only to find THE most important item missing. SAUCE. The day was headed to tragedy. I called Layne's and explained the situation. Lo and behold Adrian brought me sauce. I've always liked the convenience of "the box", and one box is enough for my sister and I to share. Neither of us cares for the sauce, so we always order ranch dressing instead. Today when I tried to place that order, the young woman at the drive-up window (who was, in my opinion, rude) said that I couldn't have ranch dressing because the cost was not the same as the sauce. Note: I did not ask her to give it to me for free! I just said I wanted ranch dressing instead, and that I had ordered it this way several times. She shook her head, "no", and said, "We don't do that." I responded, "Well, I'm leaving because you're calling me a liar. I HAVE had ranch dressing several, several times"... to which she responded, "Well, I WORK here..." and I didn't hear the rest as I drove off. She never once said, "I have to charge you extra" (which I expected), or "Let me check with the manager"... just "No". I will not be back. There are three places within 1/2 mile that also sell acceptable chicken, and none of them have ever argued with me about what I wanted to order. read more

Updated from 2 stars to a 1 star. Ordered over the phone for lunch in Tuesday. The drive thru had several cars so I went in to pick it up. The staff was flat out rude...didn't speak a word to me, slapped my card, receipt and pen on counter and walked away. I signed my receipt and was left standing there until I decided to walk out with my food and leave everything else on the counter. Food is fine like all locations. I was first dine-in customer and not a single table was clean. Instead of the employees cussing and talking about female anatomy they could take a few minutes to clean up or have someone do it before closing up each night. This location tends to overcook the food. I have tried it on 3 different occasions and it would benefit greatly from some training. I will not go back to this location, but the other 2 are generally very good and prompt, though the one on Wellborn has pretty good lines on gameday weekends. Great food chain. Terrible location. Same problems as others on here have mentioned. Just awful customer service. I come here very often too, about 7 times a month at least, so I've experienced all of the shifts. Very rarely do they have good customer service, and it's a 50-50 shot for the food to be as good as the other locations. I hope to God the owner of this location sees this. read more

Our past 3 visits have consisted of dried out overcooked chicken that lost its color maybe because of old grease or being cooked twice? I really don't know. Either way I don't see us returning with all of the other chicken options in town. read more
