Feta Fries: 5 stars - The garlic sauce that is drizzled over the top is tangy and addicting, plus it makes the feta stick to the dries. These are a must. Spicy Chicken Shawarma Wrap: 3 stars - It wasn't spicy at all... maybe they made it wrong. The lady asked me if I liked spicy, to which I excitedly responded, Yes! But the the spice just wasn't there, and the wrap is crispier than I anticipated, but still good. The pickles also through me for a loop on this wrap, but I really wanted something with some kick so I was disappointed in my entree. Service: 4 stars - friendly and polite, but nothing extraordinary. Overall: 4 stars - I will need to try the combo plate next time to sample a variety of items. I will be back. read more

Excellent food!! Their variety is really good and I suggest some baklava for dessert.

Wraps need better bread than what they use, but they are tasty! Baba Gahnoush is awesome! Prices are a little on the higher side. It's definitely worth trying for those that like more in their life than meat and potatoes! read more

One word? Wow. My wife and I were locked in the eternal struggle of "where do we eat tonight" when we ran across Laziza in Evans, GA. A short drive from the middle of Augusta, its tucked away in an unassuming shopping center (which is probably why I never noticed it). I cant remember the last time I had Mediterranean food of this quality. When I was asked what kind of homemade hummus I'd like, I knew I'd found a winner. The wait was a little over ten minutes; time I spent noticing all the to-go orders this place processes. The food was superb. I'm a pro at suggesting changes to improve a menu, but I was at a loss following this meal. I had a Chicken combination plate with feta fries - awesome. They give plenty of food per selection, which more than justifies the average price per entree (~$11). I couldn't finish everything given me which is important to note as a 6'4, 240 lb dude. I'd certainly go back again, and will do so in the near future. Great stuff! read more

Laziza is a good Mediterranean place! I hadn't tried any other Mediterranean food in Augusta til now and I was happy with my meal. I got the chicken shawarma lunch special for $7.99 with salad for an extra $1 Instead of rice. The garlic sauce was sooo tasty. We also ordered a small side of baba ganough and it was very small but pretty tasty as well. They have 4 different hummus flavors to choose from. I chose the jalapeño hummus. I was visiting my sisters for a couple days and they told me about this Mediterranean restaurant with amazing feta fries. Not one to rely on hearsay I had to go to taste for myself. One of my sisters also mentioned this place wasn't "Instagrammable" and almost made it sound like some run down, hole in the wall. Honestly, as long as the food/service is good and they have a high food safety inspection score I'm a happy girl. We got there and I was pleasantly surprised. No, they don't have marble countertops and gold bar stools but it was clean, spacious, and well lit. But onto the food because that's what really matters. We called ahead and it was ready and waiting for us when we got there. In fact, as soon as we walked in it seemed like the server immediately knew which one our order was. I ended up getting the salmon tacos (you get two big ones) and they did not disappoint. The salmon was flaky and nicely grilled, the garlic aioli was delicious, the flatbread was soft but still withstood the weight of the ingredients in the taco without disintegrating (and it was a solid taco), and the crisp pieces of grilled flatbread added the perfect bit of crunch. I'd order this again in a heartbeat. And the feta fries. Amazing and delicious. The fries still managed to be crisp and have some texture/bite to them with the sauce and feta on top. And as someone who doesn't care for the dryness of feta cheese I loved it on these fries. In sum: go and get everything I ordered and you'll be set. This will have to be a required stop whenever I come back to visit. read more

The Mixed Grill Platter was very good! My favorite was the Chicken Shawarma and chicken kebab. Also, the pita and hummus tasted great as well. I don't eat Mediterranean food often, but I'll definitely be coming back here next time I do. read more

We spoke on the telephone, he apologized and mailed out coupons asking us to give him a chance to change our impression. We received the coupons immediately and have not had an opportunity to dine again yet but will soon and will update! With the owners immediate response, he has earned a second chance! Ordered for delivery through Uber Eats! Paid $40.96 for Sampler Platter, grilled veggies, stuffed grape leafs, Baklava for dessert, a Sprite to drink plus deliv! I must say that was a wasted $40 dollars! Food arrived cold, presentation was very poor and the taste as just bad to say the least! My gf and I went here for lunch and wow, I have a new favorite. The use of flavor and spices is refreshing and uncommon. The food is easy on the wallet and waistline. I cant wait to go back. I had the mixed grill platter with chicken shawarma, beef kebab, chicken kebab and falafel. The platter also comes with rice, pita, salad and the hummus of your choice. The meats were deliciously tender, well seasoned, and served in plenty. I chose the red pepper hummus which also excellent--full of flavor and creamy. My biggest problem, and it's a game changer, were the sauces. Having moved here this summer from a big city with lots of mediterranean food I expect certain sauces--a tzatziki or yogurt sauce of some kind of a spicy chili sauce. I was given 3 sauces here; mostly they were all terrible. Their take on tzatziki was fair. I have no idea what the other two were. I had requested the garlic chili sauce, but both of the remaining sauces were yellow and had the consistency of room temperature butter. Our second visit to Laziza just confirmed my original opinion. I had the beef kebab (kofte) with rice, jalapeno hummus, pita and a side of stuffed grape leaves. Everything was delicious. My husband enjoyed a gyro. That's his staple. The 4 year old and 1 year old shared a kids meal. The 4 year old is "picky" right now but loved the French fries They were crispy. He likes the Shawarma but didn't eat nearly as much as the toddler did. The toddler seemed to enjoy Shawarma, kofte, pita and the pineapple that came with the kids meal. Based on the other reviews I expected the food to be way better than it actually was. My husband and I shared the platter for 2 in order to try most of the menu items. The pita bread tasted like it was out of a grocery store package, the hummus as though a can of chick peas was ground with no lemon juice or tahini or seasoning of any type. The quality of their food changes all the time. Some days it's pretty good others it tastes like it's a few days old. The portions are getting smaller and the pricing higher. If the restaurant keeps this technique, people will take their business somewhere else. I'm not a big fan as I used to be and will only eat it once very so random compared to before I suggest trying it once or twice and hopefully the quality doesn't change.
