Always recommend checking out the local brewery. Whenever I come and visit my family in BSL we always try and make a trip here. The staff is always super nice and you cannot go wrong with any of their beers. Their pizzas are also super tasty, we love to share the meatballs too. I personally didn't like the wings but we had some other people at the table that did. My personal recommendation for beer is either the Neon life jacket or the classic Southern Pecan and for pizza is either the meat lovers or the CBR. read more

We moved to the area in May and visited Lazy Magnolia in July for the first time. We had some great beers, pizzas and meatballs. The food was just as good as the beers. We've been there around 5-6 times. Last week we purchased our mugs and became members. We went back today for a pizza and guess what else......yup, a beer. Once again, food was fantastic and the service is top notch! I am happy we have such a great place to visit that's nearby. Now that we have our mugs, we have an excuse to visit more often. This is by far one of the better breweries that I've been to in a long time the people are very knowledgeable and friendly. I did have the opportunity of having a beer flight and a brunch beer. I also bought some beers for the road and they threw in a couple extra that didn't have labels on them from the pecan collection. I would definitely come back they have really good garlic cheesy nuts and the pizzas are supposed really good as well. This place is literally in the middle of nowhere! But they have good pizza and beer. The employees were very nice and I appreciate there patience! This makes for a great "I dont know what you feel like doing lets go to Lazy Magnolia till we figure it out" kinda place. Its just far enough away to make it a road trip on a eventless day. The happy surprise is always seeing what new brews are available. Like you can imagine, what is available in the stores is nowhere near as what is actually available at the brewery. The tap room is fancy and the recently expanded to have more AC'ed sitting. I guess more of a dining room. They have less than typical brewery food. I would say more fancy than just nachos but that is a solid thing!! Its not a perfect place for watching football but a nice spot of a group chat or breaking up a road trip. The staff is always friendly and not arrogant in anyway that some breweries staff may be. Sweet Mississippi folk loving their job. Definitely suggest you visit here. This place is so cozy! I got the Salted Caramel Pecan Beer on Tap. We got "The Captain" Pizza and it was tasty! They were holding an event the night we first visited. It was a Christmas themed pottery painting event that was sold out. The decorations were gorgeous and it looked like a lot of fun! They have other events with live bands and beer tickets. Been coming here occasionally since 2018. Have been there about 8 times. They have drastically gone down hill the last few years. Specifically, post Covid. We pull up on a Friday at about 4:15, should be packed for a brewery taproom, used to be packed when service was excellent. Now you get zero service and bowling alley pizza for excessive prices. Their pretzel bites are literally the pretzels you can buy at your neighborhood Walmart that they put garlic butter on and served with canned nacho cheese. The pizza is terrible, crap ingredients, greasy and you get three options, cheese, pepperoni, and meat lovers. It's slapped into a cardboard box with a styrofoam plate, no silverware. With a 'here you go' flair. The food is ship. The bathroom smells of mold. Which considering how hot the processing plant is...what do you think is going into your beer if the only bathroom is hot and moldy smelling? The 'bartender' or shall I say lazy employee that turns their back on the only two customers in the place so that they can play on their phone. Didn't ask a single time how anything was. Then...to show just how stupid they were...they pour the wrong beer. Mind you, this is the ONLY thing they serve on tap...about 8 beers. They pour the wrong one and out of graciousness, my spouse says, don't worry about it, I can just take that one as to not waste it. They give my spouse the 2/3 full beer AND THEN CHARGE HIM AN EXTRA DOLLAR FOR THE 2/3rds FULL BEER THAT THEY MIS-POURED!!! You can't make this ship up. Then a father and son arrive and they wanted to sit at the bar that no longer existed. Instead of pulling up a few bar stools for them, as the place was empty other than ourselves, the 'bartender' says, no we don't have a bar anymore. The guy, seeing the writing on the wall, left. Buying nothing! I'll be shocked if this place isn't at out of business in six months with their hot beer, poor service, moldy atmosphere, and bowling alley pizza with canned nacho cheese. Run! We stopped in for a pint after blueberry picking and ended up with a surprise pizza!! We ended up getting a few pints inside their tap room. The room is *huge*, and feels nicely industrial - as a brewery should. You can peek around and see the mash tanks and beer barrels. They weren't doing tours because of Covid, but apparently they come with a free beer and pint glass. We were happily surprised by their menu for food - they have a wood-fired oven (hand built) and the pizzas come out fast and hot. Some really creative options as well. We enjoyed the Devil Pizza (garlic sauce, cheese, chicken, jalapeno ranch and buffalo sauce, with Parmesan) and would go back for the rest. Our beers were the Sun Fox IPA (New England style hazy IPA with citra hops) and the Timber Beast (Rye Imperial IPA). We took home a bottle of Stella Obscura (bourbon barrel aged) and a t-shirt! Oh, I'm five starring this one all the way, you guys. I've wanted to do the Lazy Magnolia Brew tour for a while now and wow. It was so worth the wait and did not disappoint. First and foremost I've gotta mention Ginger, our wonderful tour guide. She was so funny and entertaining and really, really great at her job. I'm still laughing at her jokes nearly twelve hours later. When it comes to the brews at Lazy Magnolia she really knows her stuff, too. She was a perfect host. On to the tour. We were able to sample six of the beers...some brand new seasonals that can't be found in stores yet (yay for that!) and also a wine that's new to their line which is only sold at the brewery. I liked the wine and hope I'll see it in my stores soon. We learned about the bottling process and were able to tour "behind the scenes" where all those great locally made beers you enjoy at a crawfish boil are made. Like others have said, you can't buy their beer here but for $10 it's a great experience and you'll leave with an awesome pint glass of your choice and if you check in on Yelp you'll also get a kick ass Lazy Magnolia bumper sticker to take home. This is the most arrogant company I have ever dealt with. I got a bad bottle of beer from them that had only about an inch of questionable liquid in the sealed bottle. I still have the bottle. I tried to get a response from them through their website as well as direct email. No response. I then made a complaint through the Better Bisness Bureau with no response to them. These people are that arrogant or they are running their business into the ground and just don't care. All over one bottle of beer. They don't deserve to be patronized. read more

Okay, I may be a little biased on this review. I really like the Southern Pecan ale, it's my favorite when I am anywhere east of CA. Coming to the brewery was a lot of fun, and very informative in how they make their beer. Do the tour that includes a pint glass (about $20), well worth the cost! This is a cool brewery and they have a little restaurant inside also. I'm just not really a fan of the Lazy Magnolia beers. I don't really like a lot of extra stuff thrown into my beer and Lazy Magnolia seems to specialize in making beers with a lot of extra stuff and flavors thrown into their brews. I like my beer to taste like beer and I was hard pressed to find any of their beers that worked for me. Other folks tastes likely vary greatly from mine and most will probably find something to their taste here so you certainly should visit at least once to try it out. read more

Love this little hidden away gem ! $10 apiece for the tour is a deal considering , the pint glass of your choice ( they have three different designs to chose from ) , and the 6 samples of beer you get to try after the tour. It's a small brewery , that not only brews their own brands , but beer for for other small upstart companies. The tour guide was very much a people person , very knowledgeable, and eager to answer all questions. He even gave me some extra 6 pack boxes for my shop wall collection. They have a cornhole , and giant jenga game set up in the lobby area . It was nice to have something to do while , you sampled the various beers . With the music playing , and the games going , it was like your own backyard party . Lastly , for all of you that aren't use to the hot humid South Mississippi heat , they offered to let you hang out in the cooler where they store the kegs . New state laws have been passed since , I last posted my review. No long do you have to take a tour before you sample the beer. Now you can come in and buy what you want. This is my go to spot when we visit Gulfport. The beer is great, the food is spectacular and the service is on point. JJ is by far the best bartender around. Lazy Magnolia is Mississippi oldest brewery. It was founded in 2003 so that tells you something about Mississippi's archaic laws regarding the production of alcoholic beverages. My favorite LM brews are their wildly popular southern pecan and one of the smoothest stouts I've ever tried which is their Jefferson Stout.They brew many different varieties and the best way to sample them all is at a brewery tour. The tour costs $10 if you're drinking and is either free if you're a designated driver or kid. It may cost something, but whatever it is the fee is nominal. I had been turned off by the prospect of paying for a tour, but I realized that would keep the riff raff away who just want to get shithammered for free. No offense to those rif raff because at one point in my life I was one of them. That aside, you actually get a free glass for your $10 so it is well worth the cost. Tours at Lazy Magnolia are fun and entertaining. Our guide was hilarious but she was also very knowledgeable on the brewing techniques and beers themselves. We were able to tour the warehouse, brew room and sample almost all of their brews. We even tried some fruity ass fru fru beer that I thought was horrendous, but others loved. If you like beer and are a responsible adult, I recommend this tour. read more

When Lazy Magnolia began selling beer in 2005, it became the first brewery to open in the state of Mississippi after Prohibition. Located on a backroad in the backwoods of southern Mississippi amongst a series of lookalike corrugated steel industrial buildings, it's not the easiest detour off I-10 ― though it's not nearly the schlep a visit to the Abita Brewery down the highway is. The taproom, named "The Porch," was pretty empty when we stopped by on a Friday afternoon. This is no mere showplace bar: There were pallets loaded with boxed six-packs in the front, and the "yellow line" that directs customers to the restrooms leads right alongside their active bottling line. (A new batch of their flagship Southern Pecan was going into bottles as we walked past.) I like this kind of taproom the most ― one really feels like one is drinking in a brewery here and not just another bar. Their beers aren't what anyone would exactly call avant garde, but they are extremely drinkable. Due the continuing coronavirus mass insanity, they aren't able to offer flights as they don't have "an assigned dishwasher," so half-pours are the smallest size they offer. However, customers get to keep the SunFox sour glasses in which the drinks are served. Service was really accommodating, epitomizing that legendary Southern hospitality. And when I saw the unique, handmade, really damn cool local pottery mugs that belonged to the brewerie's members behind the bar, and for once, I really, really wanted to join a brewery club for the first time ever. Beer lovers on the road to Biloxi or New Orleans really should take the time to stop in at Lazy Magnolia to try a bit of Mississippi's original craft beer ― and maybe take a few bottles of the Gulf Coast home, too. read more

We stumbled on this gem last Thursday while traveling from New Orleans to visit my parents in Ocean Springs. After a long night in NOLA the night before, we decided it was time for a snack and a drink and happened to see their signage on the freeway so we went to check it out. Really cool place with great decor. Anna Claire gave us great service and was nice to chat with. We also chatted with Mr. Ed while sipping and enjoying some great queso dip, then went on our way. We liked it so much we decided to stop last Sunday on the way back to the airport to get another taste of their great beer. We also bought some bottles to take back to California and picked up some of their swag. Anna Claire was taking great care of the customers and we had a nice time talking with them as well. I had a sweet potato porter (maybe a stout, I can't remember) that was really great, but I couldn't find the prices listed anywhere and was a little surprised how expensive it was, even knowing that craft beer is almost always pricey. The tour is great and really makes you appreciate their history in light of Katrina. On to the beer and food. They have a huge selection of beers and extremely good. Stopped in our our way from New Orleans to Biloxi and shared two flights. We purchased the Groupon for a tour but couldn't make it on any of the tour days so they let us use it for just the tastings. With over 20 beers on tap we didn't try even half of them but what we did have was really good, especially the Pecan one and Sweet Potato stout. Great beer! We love the Southern Pecan Ale, the Reb Ale, and the Southern Hops'pitality. In fact, my husband was drinking Southern Pecan Ale when he fell in love with me...or something like that. We finally made the trip over to Kiln one day to take a tour of the brewery. I would highly recommend it if you're in the area. It's a small brewery and doesn't take up much of your time or cost a lot of money. It's pretty informative and you get samples of the beer.
