The steak was cooked perfectly but the potatoes were cold. The mimosa was flavorful but the drip coffee tasted burnt and stale. Just across the board hit or miss. This is a clean, modern looking restaurant. Staff looked sharp in their matching polos and khakis. All the staff were friendly and worked as a team, providing outstanding, quick service. My wife went with the Blue Dog Breakfast which we had to share. She loved the blueberry pancakes and I ate her Cochon hash (which was tasty but would have gone perfect with a little sour cream). I love Blue Dog Cafe - never had a bad food experience until today. I ordered the Lettuce Leaf Tacos with a side of Heirloom Tomatoes. I read the description of the tacos and considering this is on the "good dog" side of the menu, I thought the aioli would be a light drizzle or put on the side. For the tomatoes, I expected two slices of heirloom tomatoes with herbs on top. I was way off, and lesson learned - I will ask questions before ordering new to me meals. I would have never imagined to have a plate of 90% aioli tacos and slushy grape tomatoes put in front of me. The tacos had so much aioli on them, I could not even pick up the tacos without the contents sliding out and aioli all over me. I tried to get the aioli off with napkins but it had soaked into the slaw, so I ended up fishing the meager amount of shrimp out with my fork. The tomatoes were the icing on the cake - they had the consistency of stewed grape tomatoes, which could have worked if there had been a crunchy ingredient, like cucumber, added in. Walked in and asked to be seated inside due to having an infant that I was cautious about the heat . The hostess seated us and we waited until a server noticed we were not helped after a table that was sat 10 minutes after us got help before us . She was amazing her name was Jill. But my rating is only because of the prices. We ordered shrimp and grits, lemon pancakes, and the pecan bacon and 2 espresso coffees. Our bill with a tip was $112 dollars. This is a fantastic spot for breakfast or lunch, but it is also very popular so don't be surprised if there is a wait. Gulfport suffers from a lack of breakfast options that aren't fast food or chains, so this was a welcome addition. I had the cochon benedict, which is eggs benedict with a bunch of shredded bacon on top and covered with an amazing hollandaise sauce. It was excellent and I don't think anyone else around here serves something like that. My wife got the banana foster's fresh toast, which looked amazing. We both ordered coffees that came with their signature dusting of the dog logo, which is fun. Inside, this place is fairly small but there are a few outdoor tables. It's on the end of a strip of stores and parking is around back, so it's a little weird getting to it for the first time. Parking seemed to be an afterthought in this whole area, including Flamingo Landing, but also people that live nearby will drive up on their golf carts. Our service was excellent and quick, so although we had to wait about 20 minutes at 10am on a Saturday, we were still in and out in roughly one hour. I can't wait to go back. read more

Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. I love that they have food for everyone. Several vegan and gluten-free foods available on the menu. I ordered the pasta primavera and it was good. I also ordered the blueberry pomegranate mimosa which was also yummy. The entire aesthetic of this bistro is on point. Arrived and was told 15-20 minute wait. We actually waited over 45 minutes. Finally got seated in the upstairs dining area. Pretty small space, with lots of people packed in. It was very loud! We had a hard time having a conversation due to the very loud table of ladies behind us. There is an outdoor bar/dining area upstairs, but it was raining so unfortunately not being utilized.
