I've been ordering food here since it opened. It started off great and has declined steadily since. I've overlooked getting the wrong order, cold fries and soup that obviously was from the bottom of the pot. But today they lost a customer. I have a go to sub and I've ordered it often, for me. When I brought it home today the sub bread was dry and on the edge of stale. I thought I'd call and let the owner know so she could check the sub rolls and perhaps not serve another customer an unsatisfactory sub. I was not expecting a refund. I took the time to alert the owner in order to help her prevent another customer being dissatisfied. This was her response " The bakery delivered that today" my response was" well it's very close to being stale and this is not acceptable " her response was " I'll let the bakery know." And then she hung up. This was the owner, not gee thanks for letting me know, or I'm sorry. I took my half eaten sandwich back and told the owner a thank you goes a long way and you lose one customer at a time. At which time she tried to defend the contents of the sandwich and to tell me,she said she'd let the bakery know. Is it me or as a business aren't you responsible for the whole item you sell? There are plenty of other quick food places around and I won't be going back to Lazy Marys . Obviously this owner doesn't understand a customer who makes an effort to say something deserves an acknowledgement that it was appreciated. A thank you goes a long way. read more

The staff is friendly, the pizza is good, but most importantly the cannoli's are to die for! Especially when they're chocolate dipped. The filling is definitely as good as Mike's, and without the wait! read more

Best pizza in town, cannolis are fresh, sandwiches good too and delivery is fast. I had one bad experience but have moved past that. they were real flexible too when we ordered 10 pizzas one night (have done that twice and they always come out good). read more

Stopped here again (first time a year ago) and got a slice of barbecue chicken pizza. Had my food in less than 5 minutes and tasted just as good as it was a year ago. I stopped here to get good pizza quick. And that is what I got. read more

Lazy Mary's is the best! They have spectacular desserts, including awesome cannoli, best outside the North End and a great selection of Ben & Jerry's ice cream. (those are just my favorites). Very friendly folks. I highly recommend it. read more

Lazy Mary's is such a nice break from all the drive-thru and Chinese places nearby. The chicken tenders are our favorite, but we also like their pizza, desserts, and fresh salads. Sometimes we just stop in for some of their giant cookies and glass bottle sodas - or even a pint of Ben n Jerry's - I love that they can answer to all sorts of cravings! The staff is super friendly and down to earth. I also think it's a great little place to stop with one or two of my kiddos just for something 'special' once in a while, which really sets it apart from some of the more adult places or cheesier kids places. read more

My grandmother happens to be a highly esteemed food critic by our family and friends... She has a distinct taste for what is good and what is bad in the restaurant world. Her first few visits to Lazy Mary's were filled with joy and happiness, raving about the wonderful pizza. However, something must have happened between then and now, because whenever someone mentions Lazy Mary's she makes a peculiar sneer and and says she doesn't like their pizza anymore. I believe it is because of the cheap taste of their pizza, thin and nothing special. I guess my grandmother's first impressions were wrong, but the important thing is that she has realized the error of her ways. read more

My husband and I popped in on a whim. We were on our way home from running errands and my husband suggested we try it out. I remember when the building was a residential home. I was curious what the inside would look like. Very cute. When you walk in, you are greeted by a pastry case filled with different dessert cakes and pastries. Another small case displaying Boars Head deli. Very cool! I saw several pieces of tiramisu and cannolis filled to order (mmmm!) Walk further in and there are a few tables for about 6-8 people and a larger case filled with more sweets. While we waited for our order, many people cake into pick up orders. It seems the locals do indeed like this little place. We decided to try some wraps for dinner. The size was very generous, the price and quality was very good. My husband got the Gobbler. He liked it. The only critical comment was that he wished it was served hot. I got the veggie wrap. It was very good. Very fresh and packed full of lettuce, cuke, carrot, roasted red peppers ect, topped off with swiss cheese and hummus. I spotted a slice of apple pie in the display case and immediately was craving apple pie. I added that to my to-go order. Our dinner was pretty good, but the apple pie left much to be desired. The crust was very soggy, the filling, although generous with ample thick cut apples, was lacking in flavor. The crust and filling needed a bit more salt, making it quite flat tasting. The texture of the crust was probably due to it being a day or so old and was kept in a plastic container. I suspect it was a shortening crust as well, so hence the lack of flavor. For 3.99 for an average size slice, I was hoping for a better experience. They do advertise as, amongst other things, a bakery, so my expectations were a bit higher than if i were just at your average run of the mill pizza joint. We will definitely be back, I want to try their pizza. Next time I will try another dessert. They had many to choose from and they looked really good. read more

I have been a few times. I won't go back. The pizza never tastes fresh - more like one or two days old and reheated...which is ironic because ordering a single pizza requires a 25 minute wait. We have tried their pizza and cannoli. Lots of choices for pizzas. The first pizza we tried was a sausage pizza. It was ok. Next time, we tried their Mediterranean styled slices with feta cheese and it was excellent. The Cannoli's are good too. They fill them after the purchase so they stay crispy and fresh. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but food quality is good and their service is very friendly. read more

Upon first glance place looks great, normally buzzing with customers so something must be good, right? Not in my opinion. Ive lived in Ayer for about a year now and due to convenience I have ordered here multiple times. I am finally fed up! Recently I learned (from an employee!) that the front end workers DO NOT receive the tips that are put into the "Mr. Peanut" head tip jar, which is ILLEGAL in Mass. So I will not be leaving a tip again. I have witnessed employees, AND customers get yelled at by the female owner (Wendy I believe is her name?) Food is mediocre and with the recent increase in prices, its not even worth it. Delivery is not offered between the times of 2-5pm & when delivery is available it seems there are not enough drivers. Roughly 90% of the desserts are not homemade, they are ordered in & what is homemade is crap. HOWEVER::::The front end workers are welcoming, and the 2 different gentlemen who have delivered to me are always very nice. I believe the owners need to forget about being money hungry and get with the thought that the people and food count more. End Rant. read more

Their pizza is very good. Their wrap sandwiches could be bigger. The worst part is we didnt get what we ordered. My husband ordered a pizza which was fine. I ordered a gobbler wrap and my daughter ordered a chicken cesar wrap, we both got chicken cesar wraps which I didnt notice until we got all the way home. I was very disappointed to not get what I was in the mood for and what I paid for. read more

Every six months or so I retry lazy marys in hopes that they have worked out the kinks but im let down time and time again. When they first opened, first two weeks that is.. I thought they were great. Pizzas were awesome and subs and wraps were plentiful. For the price they charge that's how it should be. After my first two bad experiences I have been hesitant to go back but tonight 12/11/13 i will never go back. We ordered three different wraps all with grilled chicken and one with bacon. The bottom line is nothing is fresh. The chicken was pre-cooked processed style chicken that was ice cold. Why advertise grilled chicken and then produce cold pre-cooked chicken.. It's just not how food should be. Fresh chicken actually grilled is cheaper and 100 times better. The bacon seemed to be microwaved bacon as well, which is a joke. It was soggy and had no flavor. McDonald's has a superior product ten times out of ten compared to what you actually receive. Advertise what you serve, not what people want to hear. It's too bad , that location and building had incredible amount I potential. The owners just need to realize that it all starts with the product. My husband and I were too lazy to cook tonight so we decided to order pizza. We were planning on trying Di Napoli in Westford but they are closed on Sundays so we figured we would try Lazy Mary's since its close by. When I'm not in the mood to cook I like to order something inexpensive that we can have leftovers of for lunch the next day. My husband wanted their specialty pizza called The Works ($20.99 for a large) and I wanted the Sausage & Ricotta ($15.99 for a large) which was also listed under Specialty Pizza. When he called to order he asked if we could do half and half of their specialty pizza which they said they could. They never explained how they would charge for it and we didn't ask but I just figured they would charge for the more expensive pizza which was The Works. Now, $20.99 for a pizza is sort of pricey to begin with especially for the burbs but they ended up charging us $4.00 extra for the half with sausage and ricotta. Our large pizza ended up costing us $27.00 after tax. i don't think I've ever paid $27 for a pizza. If anything they should have charged us less since there were fewer toppings on the pizza. When we got in the car and started discussing this figure out the logic behind how they charged us we realized there was none. My husband called to see if we were charged right. They basically just said "that's just how we do it". No reasonable explanation. Needless to say, we were both pissed. They could have at least given us the heads up on that. As for the pizza, it was OK. Nothing special, they were stingy with the meat and the crust was a bit chewy and undercooked. If you're going to charge those prices, you need to put out a really great product. There was nothing great about our experience with Lazy Marys. We'll never go back. read more
