Our home was damaged from a gas explosion of a neighbor's home on June 11th, 2017. I found LDR in Rockford on State Farm's website. On June 23, 2017 we entered into an agreement and were clear that our siding company was to be used, we had replacement coverage therefore the same material must be used unless discussed with me and that I receive a schedule for repairs. LDR and State Farm discussed the job and they agreed upon a completion date of November 30th, 2017. State Farm sent an email confirming this on August 1, 2017 to LDR and me. I requested a schedule numerous times but LDR would not issue one. Their workers and/or sub-contractors failed to show when expected, used the incorrect replacement material from what was currently in place, did not use material stated in their own quote that was mandatory city code, missed repairing a cracked 2x4 in the wall that was called out in the Architectural drawing, did not finish the demo leaving the screws and nails in the 2x4s, and nails, staples and tack strip on the sub-flooring. Our Bank's inspector deemed the house at 16% complete in January 2018, seven months after the explosion and they had received a total of 45,884.18 the beginning of August 2017. Once the agreement was dissolved, LDR sent me a final invoice for 58,998.87. The bill included work/services that were not done, were not completely done, were not done to code (as indicated by the City when they received the permit), billed for materials based on the estimate than what was actually used, and billed for a cancelled purchase order from Home Depot. We had missing items and items damaged by LDR. Out of the 45,884.18 they have only done 28,897.60 (our current contractor still thinks that it's too high) leaving 16,986.58 to be credited. The insurance company will not cover any rental expense passed March 30th, 2018 and we will still be out of our home April and possible May of 2018. Based on this experience, LDR seems to be doing a bait and switch with agreed up work/material, trying to get money for work not done. They made decisions to make changes that was not theirs to make, cut corners with less skilled people (their failed attempt to put in windows), billing for work that was not performed or finished. It is bad enough that people go through a terrible and frightening tragedy that turns their life upside down only to fall prey to a construction company that is conducting what seems like fraudulent business practices creating another level of stress and anguish. read more

We had a flood and they came after hours right away and took care of it. They cut out some carpet and tile and trim and put it all back together after it was dry. We even got new tile throughout because they didn't make ours anymore. They worked with my insurance company and figured everything out with them. Super easy process and fairly quick. read more

i own a townhome and a while back my dishwasher had sprung a leak causing damage to the tile floor in the kitchen, carpet & pad, and leaked through the ceiling in the garage. it was a mess. i contacted my agent and they put me in touch with ldr cleaning & restoration. their staff was prompt to start the drying process and removal of any damaged tiles, carpet, drywall, insulation etc. within a week everything had been dried and ready for repairs. i met with their estimator who walked me through the entire process. having never dealt with an insurance claim, i was a bit naive in the process. dave explained everything, from what was covered, how the process works with the insurance company, and what to expect. despite the fact that insurance claims can be a lengthy process, and really confusing at times, ldr always stayed on top of it working with both myself and my insurance company to ensure everything would be taken care of and covered. hats off to the office for their communication and ability to explain the process. after everything was finalized (about 2 weeks), the crew was sent out for repairs. matt & jim were great. respectful & hard working. even the subs that they used for the drywall, flooring, and painting were excellent. responsive, on time and professional. in all i was back to normal after a few short weeks and very pleased with the overall professionalism and communication with ldr and their team. insurance claims are not fun and due to everything involved it can be a bit taxing going through the back and forth with the claim process. when our lives are flipped upside down because of an incident, such as a flooded townhouse, it's hard to deal with. we all just want things to be back to normal. ldr did just that. from start to finish. it took time, but in the end everyone had gone above and beyond to help get me get back to the way it was before the flood. thanks ldr! i really appreciate everything you guys did. read more

Our electricity went out about 1 a.m., and therefore, our sump pump failed and coincidentally, the battery backup failed, and back up sump pump failed, all causing about 1" of water to fill our finished basement. At 4 a.m., we discovered this when the electricity came back on and immediately called LDR as per recommendation of our insurance company, American Family. At 6 a.m., we received a return phone call from LDR, Dave specifically, and we advised of the situation, but that we needed to put it on hold because American Family call center agent stated that we may not have the coverage. While we waited for our agent to call us back (never did but instead emailed 5 hours later, that's for another review), Dave checked in twice before 8 a.m. to see if we still needed LDR's services. We explained that we likely didn't have insurance for this, and if he wanted he could still have someone come out for an estimate, which he agreed. Jordan came out within the hour and recognized our emergency, gave us an estimate, we agreed, and they immediately began extracting the water, setting up the Gale Force fans, 2 industrial humidifiers, and had everything under control within 4 hours. 2 days later, they came back and did readings and analyzed what more needed to be done, removed some of the fans, repositioned others to generate the proper air flow, and then came back out again another 2 days later to do the same, and I believe by day 7, they had everything done. The drywall was completely dry, the carpets completely dry, although slightly stained from the water damage. They mentioned they could also clean and deodorize the carpets once everything was complete, and because they did such a FANTASTIC job with the restoration, we hired them for the carpets, and I cannot express enough how much better the carpets looked when they were done. Not just how they looked, but, to me, the air quality in our finished basement just felt so much nicer. I personally am someone who is touchy about germs and mold, am very sensitive when it comes to allergies, and I just never realized until they were done the difference in the air. It seemed "lighter" or something. We also have a lot of heavy items in the basement, and a bunch of littler boxes that required going up and down our stairs frequently to move out of the way, which would have been very hard on me and my husband, and they (for a small additional fee) did help us with that. They came back a day or two later as well to help remove the little foam squares that the heavy equipment was set on while the carpet dried (also for a small fee that was very fair). They were way above what I normally deal with when it comes to hiring contractors. They worked with us with the pricing since it was out of pocket, they were so helpful with aiding us where we couldn't lift or move items, they, from the very beginning, recognized the urgency and treated it as if it were happening to them personally, each of the different individuals that came to the house were very professional and courteous. It was not a short drive from their business to our home, (40 min one way) but they still came out every other day to measure the moisture or do whatever they did to assess how many fans were still needed, and it wasn't easy to lug those up and down my stairs I know, but each time, they displayed nothing but professionalism, they showed up when they said they would, and they got in and they got out. I would hire this company without hesitation again and give them my highest recommendation. read more
