Everytime it rained our French doors leaked. I tried to fix it, even though I was able to temporarily stop the leak I got chalking all over the frame. And to make matters worse when I tried to smooth out the chalk I made it even worse. Ronnie and his son came over and removed all the old chalking ( not an easy job) and resealed the door with quality chalk. The doors look great. I would definitly use them again. read more

After submitting an online request for a quote, I got a prompt phone call and a representative came by to take a look at a few windows and doors which needed fixing. He told me he'd reach back out with a quote, which I never received. Over the following month, I called multiple times (no one ever answered), sent an email and resubmitted an online request. While I've tried many times via phone to reach this company they simply do not answer and then send you to their website to make an appointment. After 3 emails, I give up. I received their name as a recommendation from a home inspector but I'll be sure he knows the service is far less than desired. I'd recommend another company that actually answers a phone or returns a message. My guess is that if this is how they behave before the job, it may be trouble during or after. read more

HORRIBLE customer service and DOES HOT KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING, COMPLETELY UNOROFESSIONAL. Never heard back from them on a window fix they were supposed to give me a quote on. They also broke a functioning window in the process! I rent from and property manage the unit I live in from my LL. Thought I'd try these guys. NEVER HEARD BACK. I had to explain to my LL how these guys broke another window in trying to see parts for a broken window, NEITHER OF WHICH THEY FIXED. Our house is over 60 years old. Our large, dual pane, front "picture" window was damaged, and the only solution proposed by others was to replace that window and the two adjacent ones with commercial products that would not match our other windows and that would also compromise the interior woodwork, at an extraordinarily high price. I highly recommend Fix a Window / LDS Renovations for window and glass repairs. They quoted 30% les money to replace 3 insulated glass units in my wood windows. They got the job done in two weeks, when everyone else said it would take three weeks or more to get the glass. And, instead of replacing an entire window that the manufacturer made as non re-glazable, they disassembled the window and reglazed it, saving me over $500. I've been in the window business for almost 30 years, but I don't work with wood windows. I have a small window that needed to be replace and someone came out to give us a quote and we waited over a week he said someone would contact us within 2-3 days and we never heard back from anyone so now it's been almost two weeks my window is not fixed and it's starting to get cold the guy asked if there was anything else we needed we told him not at this time so I'm not sure if they don't want to do a small job if so they should advertise that they don't take certain jobs. Not ok in my book with how they handled our quote this is bad customer service for a small business in my opinion. We have little kids so this was a top priority for us to get fixed. read more

It's easy to find someone to replace windows, but finding someone willing and able to fix them is almost impossible. I was really lucky to find this company. We had ROW windows (aka Rotten Old Windows) that would not close properly and a mammoth sliding glass door with a broken thermal seal. Ronnie was able to adapt and install the aftermarket crank mechanisms we unearthed (more good luck) for the windows. He and his outstanding crew also took the windows apart and reinstalled them with the right alignment to close correctly. Ronnie and his brother came out on a Sunday and installed the new thermal pane in the sliding door. They had a pretty hard time but persisted and got the job done right. The price for all the work Ronnie and his guys did was worth every dollar. Without their excellent work it's safe to say that selling the house would have been at least a lot more problematic. read more

LDS Renovations/Fix a Window came out to our house at the request of a prospective Buyer. The representative examined the reachable windows but looked up a the windows at the second story height from the first floor and declared that they were clouded. We cleaned the windows after he left and they are crystal clear. LDS Renovations submitted a proposal that was outrageous and claimed several windows were cloudy when they were not. i would not trust these guys to mow my lawn much less replace my windows. read more

I received a quote from LDS last September to fix a window that had cracked and then dragged my feet on it till March when I finally called to have the work done. I had an issue with another window so they came out to look at that and re-checked their measurements for the cracked window. I went through the nonsense of 3 window contractors before I found LDS. The day after I called they came by to measure and estimate, and once the glass order cam in they arrived the very next day and replaced my 4x4ft picture window in less than an hour. They arrived, I made coffee and ate breakfast, and they were done. I've literally never been this impressed by contractors. I first met Ronnie when he came to fix our porch screens last summer. He did a great job at a very reasonable price. When I found out he also replaced windows, I asked him to return and give me an estimate/proposal on replacing 5 damaged windows in our finished basement (4 double-hung and one picture window). I also got estimates from three other companies, but chose LDS because the windows he proposed using seemed an excellent value at a reasonable price, and I trusted him based on the work he did on the porch screens. He did very careful measurements, the windows arrived on schedule, they fit perfectly, and the installation went smoothly.
