This is my favorite West Indian bakery in all of New York. It is located in Queens. I came here the Saturday morning of 11/1/25. Their pastries evoke memories of my maternal aunt, baking coconut tarts and guava jelly rolls on Saturday morning in her Bronx house (Soundview) throughout my childhood in the 1970s. Their fruit cake slices remind me of those baked by my paternal aunt in London, England--moist, flavorful and topped with icing. Some customers in the store were raving about Patmar's meatloaf patties. I must come back and try one. All goods are reasonably priced, and everything comes out quick. When I'm in the area I always try to stop off here before getting on the LIRR back to Brooklyn (Barclays Center). One day I went to the Golden Crust next door to order food but the line was too long and was not moving. I went into this place as there seemed to be no customers. But don't let the emptiness fool you. I ordered a small oxtail meal (includes rice and peas with vegetables), a slice of cake and a Ting soda. Staff was quick with putting in the order but service for food was slow. I was in a rush but was ok with waiting. There is no ambiance as it is a stop and go establishment. As for the food it was delicious and flavorful. Since that day every time I'm in the Springfield Gardens area, I will stop to order anything they have in stock as I know the food so be delicious. read more

I am not big fan of their baked goods but this is my favorite lunch take out! I usually get Oxtail, curry goat, or curry chicken. The vegetable and rice come with curry and they are just perfect. Everything I order tastes always great. Never disappointed. The customer service is nice, too. It can be la long line sometimes but for me it is worth waiting! read more

Ok this review is mainly for the cakes, patties and that heavenly hard dough bread. The patties and cake are good...but it's the hard dough bread that stands out for me. As a Jamaican, I've had some of the best patties, obviously, in Jamaica. So I'm always dissecting the Patty's I taste in New York because they almost never stand a chance in comparison. However, patmar has really really delicious patties I must say. From the crust to the filling, it's perfect. They have something called meatloaf, which is just like a regular beef patty but instead it has a crust made of a bread similar to Coco bread. So if you are a fan of Coco bread and a beef patty definitely try the meatloaf. It is so good. They have all sorts of different West Indian pastries that are so good as well. They're cooked food is ok. Nothing remarkable. It's a hit or miss with the food I think. I've gone there and gotten a delicious brown stew chicken lunch meal and then on another occasion ordered that same meal and it be flavorless and Bland. I don't have money to waste so I stop Taking Chances with ordering plates from them. I pretty much goes to them for patties, meatloaf, and pastries.They bake whole Cake's there as well so if you need to order a cake for a birthday or special event they have them. So now, the customer service. What can I say, it sucks. Not in a sense that they are rude, but they just have the wrong people working there. I have been trying to figure out for years how they have these two same woman working there. They are horrible. Horrendous. Terrible. They do not need to be working in the customer service industry at all. Literally every single time I go there I'm so irritated when I leave but I keep on having to focus on the food that I ordered that I know would be good. Those women there are bringing the business down. I don't understand how the owner still has them working there. I'm pretty sure they get complaints all the time. They are so slow. All they do is talk nonsense while there's a huge line waiting. They say inappropriate things in front of a huge Lion of patrons.They are so disorganized and confused and can't focus. Almost every time I have an interaction with either of them I have to repeat myself 2 3 and 4 times. For example on my last visit (I told myself it would be my last while I was in there waiting forever... But I know I'm lying lol) I ordered 2 meatloaf, and 2 large goat head soups. because she's talking so much, nothing related to work, she had to ask me three times what did I say. It's ridiculous. I really can't stand them. I made up my mind to only go in there for meatloaf Cravings from now on. At least with that they can just put it in a bag and let me pay for it. But even that might take awhile for them. I'm pretty sure that this place loses business just because of them. They must be family or something. there's no other way to explain the fact that they still work there. If the owners read these reviews get rid of those two women. The only thing saving your business is your food and that can't work for long you need good customer service as well. The two missing stars are for those two bozos that work there. read more

I usually get the spinach patty from here (so good), but the other day I decided to go for an entree. I got curry goat. Portions were good but the meat wasn't too flavorful. One thing is consistent though, customer service is trash. Ladies in the front need to fix their attitude. read more

The only reason why they did not get five stars just because when it's crowded the customer service is not as good. The one thing I hate about most west Indian places is that you don't feel very welcome as you give your money away for whatever service or product is being provided although the items be good, service is very important to a customer. Especially when they are customers or brand-new to the location. So put a smile on your face. It never hurts or say hello what can we do for you today? Something very simple be can changed. Now... How about trying some of these items other than the Jerk Chicken and Curry Meals (which are very good)? Like: cheesy~bread MEATLOAF which is very similar to the original beef patty, but the West Indian version. And there fresh Pastries like coconut cake, bread pudding, sugar bun, bulla cake, etc. But otherwise as far as the location, the food, the products, the owner They get five stars One major thing I must give honor to that they do is give to the poor and the needy, the homeless those folks who are hungry, at least once a month they are a blessing which is classy not trashy. The food ,especially the curry goat meal use to be excellent but of late I noticed the dish is no longer tasty . I live in a family of people who have a sweet tooth. This is now our cake place. They have the BEST cakes ever. My mom makes excellent homemade cakes but this place is my favorite place for baked goods. They taste so good and the frosting is out of this world. About the food, which is why I walked through the door in the first place....pastries are amazingly great...food not so much. The flavor is not so authentic especially not the rice & peas, they need to use some coconut milk or spice. The owner is a beauty inside and out, the bakers/chefs are darlings....However, the front of house staff is horrendous!!! Their faces match their attitudes and that is bad for business!! I am much more likely to take my chances at the Golden Crust a few doors down...that's how awful they treat customers. Organization is not an option for them...one person takes your order and then begins the "process" where at least two people touch your money/card before you wait about ten years for change or card back while your nice food is getting cold!!! It's extreme hunger and the smell of the pastries that bring me back to grandmas kitchen even though I have to put up with bitter Patsy and grumpy Stella lol!!! It wasn't me!!
