Salmon and tuna poke over quinoa.

I always thought this was a bar or night club given the darkened glass. I went in for tacos but found poke! Surprisingly tasty and very healthy and satisfying if you get the large.

My friends and I were sightseeing and came to this spot to check it out. I'm still full my breakfast so I didn't eat much. But this place has over 20+ places to choose from. My friends decide to order a few items from Le Super Qualite, an Indian crusine place. My friends said the food was really good so I ended up ordering the wada pav myself. I agree, it was B-O-M-B! It has a ball of potato fritter with tamarin and other sauces. I love the umami flavor plus the crispy crunchy pieces around. I definitely wanted to try more things next time~

While visiting Montreal we look for places to eat different things under one roof. We (4) enjoyed food from different places and we all enjoyed. The service was great and the ambiance was very pleasant. Exceptional food options. I highly recommend it while in Montreal. Really close to other attraction, subway stops, shopping and Chinatown.

So many food stalls to choose from inside Le Central. I saw Asian fusion, Mediterranean, Italian, Hawaiian and Vietnamese just to name a few. I especially liked the made to order churro stall with chocolate dip and nougat, yum! I'm pretty sure there are over 20 food stalls in total so definitely something for everyone. The vibe inside is minimalistic, clean and trendy with lots of good seating. A perfect spot for a bite if you are indecisive. Something will definitely catch your eye as you walk around. It was a tough decision, but Kame caught my eye for a late afternoon lunch. I ordered two small poke bowls which were quite substantial in size. Also a shrimp tempura snack which was very decent in size as well. The bowls had a good variety of shredded pickled carrot and mixed greens with seaweed salad and rice and poke salmon tossed in a vinaigrette and siracha mayo wow! The wait time was rather quick after placing my order. The only downside is that you have to order menu items as they are as they do not allow for customization. But no matter,as it was all delish and definitely a lighter healthy option. A fun place to grab an anytime bite!

Reminds me a bit of Time out market but without being attached to a mall. I like the area and a food court makes a lot of sense since there is always something to do around Place des arts and it adds a lot more options than just the complexe desjardins mall food court. They have a nice mix of options and price ranges are $15-$30 depending on what you order and from where. It can get very packed here on nights with shows or other events so it will become hard to navigate around and finding a seat for a big group will be a hassle. I find the layout of the merchants a bit strange because there are some that are hidden in the far back and there's no one way to do a tour of all the options properly because there can be a lot of people and there are many entrances which just means more people and lots of noise. They don't have a buzzer system either so you kinda have to wait for your food at the counter or sit and walk back to the place you ordered with your receipt within the time frame they told you. I've tried a handful of the stalls here and nothing has really wowed me so far except Le petit vibe (but they are sadly closed now) and trou de beigne (excellent doughnuts!!). I've also tried Ramen Misoya (a bit too salty and uninteresting broth in my opinion), the mac and cheese bacon poutine from Le gras dur (good but small portion for the price and the mac and cheese nuggets were just frozen ones). I will say despite how this review might seem, I do enjoy coming here. When it's quiet, it's a nice place to sit with a friend and catch up! There's something guaranteed for every craving and the space itself is nice and inviting. Plus you can walk around Place des arts after and check out the light installations in the winter and the street decorations in the summer (or a festival!)

We really weren't looking for a meal or even a snack, we were there just to take a look at one of the three food halls in downtown Montreal, Le Centrale. Le Cathcart and Timeout Market are the other ones. We had just spent some time enjoying the warm weather and sights within the Quartier des Spectacles and this place beckoned. Churros offers fresh-from-the-fryer churros. The long treats with serrated ridges, a bit denser than a cruller, are coated in sugar and had a nice crunch. They were served with a choice of dipping sauces. I had one of each: dark chocolate, salted caramel, dulce de lèche, and Nutella. The dark chocolate was intense and flavorful and the salted caramel highlighted the contrasting sweet and salty flavors; they were my favorites. Service was kind and professional.

Something for everyone because it is an upscale food court with many cultural cuisines available, plus bars too. The communal tables are great for meeting friends, and the variety makes for good people watching too. When using maps to find a restaurant by name, it is super hard to find because they are not listed outside. If you are looking for local (French) food, there are crepes and poutine. I went for crepes, and unfortunately Milo was out of savory batter. So thus the deduction in a star.

It has variety of foods, drinks, snakes, desserts, coffee and pastries. I stop for a little afternoon pick me up- it was near my hotel( literally across the street). I meant to come back to try some of the foods, but unfortunately they were closed on Sunday, Monday, and open at 11 on Tuesday ( my flight was 12) so didn't get to try it.

This is a cool spot in Montreal! A market style eatery where you can order many dishes from different vendors and sit down in a central area. Perfect if you have a group of friends with different preferences for food. I tried the poke bowl from Kame, churros, and also a coffee. I would have also liked to try a pasta dish (there were a few vendors), but you can only eat so much. Good prices and friendly service. And also lots of seating with social distancing measures in place. They also require vaccination proof. Will definitely stop by again in the future!

I get that you're paying for the market-like vibe but the quantity of food is unreasonable for the price at Kamé. For the same price in a good quality sushi restaurant I got a bowl with twice the amount of food. To top it off, it turns out that 3 slivers of mango costs an extra $0.50 *raging inside*. The Centrale menu prices don't match the website menu prices--it's between $2-$4 more. Taste and quality were reasonable although my small HANAUMA BAY had at the bottom of the bowl a pool of oil. Possibly from the salad base. I also took the small Waikiki, which is snack sized bowl and the total with taxes came out to $32.19 for 2. I find this overhyped.

Indian street food - excellent but very spicy

Now THIS is a food hall! I stumbled upon Le Central when looking for another restaurant, and I'm so glad I stopped by! The food stalls were top notch, and there was an incredible amount of variety. I ate a crazy mix of food and beer from multiple vendors. The masala dosa from the Indian street food stall was excellent but very spicy, and I loved the look of the stall itself. I had excellent pizza, sandwiches, and ramen also - I feel like you cannot go wrong here! Overall, a great place to bring friends or a date. Highly recommended!

I'd never had the French Canadian heart-attack-on-a-plate, and was a little nervous as it just looks like it has A LOT going on. I sludged into La Banquise dead sober at 4:11am, as this is a legendary spot that is open 24 hours. I sat down in a bustling no frills atmosphere and remembered my deep appreciation for a 24-hour diner. You see people for who they really are this early in the morning. A couple in front of me was in a heated argument about what "being exclusive" really meant, while two separate groups of 4 to my right were feeling no pain and enjoying a poutine night cap. There I was, sipping on my black coffee mentally prepping myself for the 45 mile (72 km) day I had in front of me. The dichotomy of life. I asked the server what the most popular item was, and he said La Scooby. This monstrosity consisted of fresh cut fries, cheese, gravy, ground beef, bacon, onions, fried pickles, and caesar dressing garlic sauce. I got the small ($12.40 usd), but this thing was a TANK. It was bigger than my head and I have a HUGE head. The large must be a family style portion or somethin. Upon first bite, it was damn good. I completely see the poutine appeal. Is it an ideal meal dead sober at 4:11am? No, absolutely not, but this is an S-tier hangover food. Also, if there is ever a day when I need some extra calories, it's on a 100k step day. All the staff was so welcoming, and surprisingly chipper this early in the morning. SHOUTOUT TO LA BANQUISE! THANK YOU FOR FUELING THE JOURNEY! IG @johnny.novo Tiktok @jnov__ Substack @johnnynovo

I took my niece from New York City here because La Banquise is supposed to be the "must try" poutine spot in Montreal. We had a great night overall: soccer game, drinks at Mellon Brasserie (none of us were drunk; my wife was 100% sober). Everything was fun and chill. But La Banquise completely ruined the end of that trip, and I'm not okay with letting this go. We paid for the food and service. But it doesn't matter if you pay $1 or $100: at the end of the day, we were customers, and we deserved to be treated with respect. We waited for our Uber outside. It was cold, and I'm on crutches, so my injuries hurt badly in the cold. After waiting outside for a long time with the Uber not showing up, we went back inside to wait near the door, in the corner, not blocking anyone. The staff at the door immediately came in and started rudely and aggressively kicking us out. He refused to speak English with me after I clearly said, "I don't speak French, so talk to me in English." He kept talking French and was rude to my wife, my niece, and me. He told the waitress in French that we were "blocking the way," which was 100% false. (My wife speaks French) We were just standing near the entrance, waiting for a few minutes, trying to get out of the cold. When I went to the cashier and explained, "This guy is kicking me out. I just paid for my meal. But it doesn't matter if you pay $1 or $100: you're still a customer, and you shouldn't be kicked out and treated like trash just because you're waiting for your Uber on crutches. I'm on crutches, it's cold, and my Uber isn't here yet," they called a waitress who also started telling us to leave instead of helping. She didn't try to find a solution; she just said, "No, no, leave, leave." This is not just bad service. This is disgusting, disrespectful treatment of a paying customer with a mobility issue. My niece, who had a blast all night, ended the trip saying, "What the f....? You bring me here and they treat us like this?" She now has a bad impression of Montreal because of this place. My niece is from New York City, and she's also posting her own review. That review will be seen by people in New York and by tourists looking for recommendations. If you treat tourists like this, you're not just ruining one night, you're ruining the image of the whole city. Montreal is supposed to be a welcoming city for tourists and people looking to have fun and be treated with respect. La Banquise failed that completely. The food was okay, but the experience was terrible because of how we were treated. This is unacceptable. You should be ashamed of how you handled this.
