I specifically went to the Farmers market on Saturdays to pick up pastries from Laurent, I just about died when he disappeared from his spot! Oh yeah, he's the real deal! We just love his pastries!! They are mostly $3 a piece for croissants and rolls - I easily spend $30 when I stop by this French bakery cafe - really good quality! My personal favorite is his simple Jalapeño croissant. Try out an almond, raisin or orange roll or croissant, ask them to warm it up- You won't regret it... Everything I get from here disappears quickly in my home! Hoooweee! We've been here several of times for breakfast. We usually get there when they first open and all the pastries are just baked. My son loves their croissants and pastries. We SO wanted to love this place. Very disappointed. It was a bit disheveled, not as tidy and organized as expected. Although service was very friendly, took a while to get it due to the sole clerk having to tend to the cash register, coffee machine and tables. Girlfriend ordered a croissant and coffee; I got a latte. The pump-it-yourself canister of French Roast coffee was empty, and since the clerk was now tending to another customer, girlfriend did not want to wait again for her attention, so settled for another coffee in a second canister. Croissant was tough and doughy...not a light, flakey French pastry as expected, so girlfriend took a few bites and tossed it. Earlier in the week, we had Trader Joe's frozen croissants you bake at home that are light, flakey, melt-in-your-mouth delicious; they are 100x better. read more

And we tried the berry waffle. The berries were cold and fresh - a great change from warm berry compote - and the waffle was fluffy and flakey. Ordered: - Breakfast sandwich - Le Bistro Club * Pros: NONE! * Cons: Prior to ordering we called and spoke to the manager Armand and I asked him if we can substitute the side salad that came in the breakfast sandwich meal for something else. He informed me that we can replace it with fruit or scallop potatoes. We ordered the breakfast sandwich with ham and feta cheese and chose the scallop potatoes in place of the salad. When we picked up our food to go we didn't have time to open our containers until we arrived at home and the breakfast sandwich didn't come with the feta cheese but swiss instead! Also, the side of potatoes were so small! To top it off, he charged us $1.50 extra for the potatoes, which he should have told us about AND he also over charged my credit card $3.00. I called and complained about the extra charge and after going over the charges with him three times because he couldn't calculate right he said that he will credit me back. * The food that we ordered wasn't that good! My Le Bistro Club had regular slices of turkey meat (grocery style, the cheap stuff) and was mostly bread which was hard as a rock! * DON'T eat here, it's over priced and the food sucks. The breakfast menu looks amazing! But my review is for lunch. I ordered a sandwich they had as a special that came with choice of a side (I ordered fruit). Overall I wasn't that impressed with the sandwich. I could tell the quality of the ingredients were high but I'm not craving to go back anytime soon. For $12.50 or something for a sandwich it should be great. I ordered a coffee which was amazing! Same prices as Starbucks but much better quality. I also ordered a muffin that was house made. Again, good but not mouth watering delicious. I plan on going back to try their breakfast but so far lunch doesn't impress me. Hopefully I can give this place a higher review when I come back to try their breakfast. read more

This place gets more stars than available. The food is nothing less than an inspiration. I had the Pita for breakfast and the eggs were so rich and creamy. The pita was the perfect temperature and it had a nice amount of veggies in it. I ordered the salad with mine and it was beautiful. The dressing was a perfect compliment. Over all the price is right. This little gem is under new ownership and if you want to taste food that has an AUTHENTIC French flare than you NEED to come here. First, your omelette does not contain cheddar cheese from the grocery store... it's the kind of dairy that punches your taste buds in their tender little tummies and then seduces you with a French accent into taking the next bite. WOW. That is what cheese is supposed to taste like! After our fresh and delicious breakfast, we talked to the owners wife- who trained in Paris and is trying to introduce authentic French pastries to the Temecula audience.... but here's the thing: if you are American and don't know anything about French pastries.... well, they are on another level.... like American pastries are a beat up Pinto and French pastries are the Ferrari and they are in a race towards your pleasure center. Yeah. That good. We tried the lemon tart and I squealed with delight. You will too. Just do it. Anything chocolate is probably gonna make me want to go to church- and I'm Jewish. This place is darling and it's very nice to see a small bakery in a place like temecula. Having traveled around France and parts of Europe I can enjoy and appreciate their footprint. I ordered the chai tea which was enjoyable but didn't overwhelm me which is fine because the soup I ordered was delicious and full of flavor.
