Best donuts ever, hands down. I compare every other donut and they are still the best. Traditonal, fresh, light, and not.too sweet.

I'll start off simple - Le Donut has the highest finesse maple bars around, the ones from HoD and Pao are good, but these ones have the perfect size, texture, and amount of maple topping that is crisp to the bite and soft as your teeth sink in and melt when your tongue glides on it. If that isn't perfection, I don't know what is. I've frequented quite a few other donut shops around the 253 area, endless times especially on Seahawks game days, I call around and places are out of glazed donuts and maple bars, but have 100 of a useless flavor that's still there minutes before they close...oh the anger. Oh man. First off, the English translation of Le Donut is Le Frickin' Delicious. Not gonna lie, I was a smidge hesitant to stop in, but I was a fool for waiting as long as I did! These donuts put any other donut I've tried to shame. The maple bacon is perfect. Apple fritter? Pfffft. Try and find a better one. My second trip in the kind gentleman fellow asked if I wanted to try an egg roll. My head said no, but my mouth said yes and it was a delicious decision. The lady that works behind the counter can come across as crude from time to time but I believe as Donut Queen that's her right. It only takes about a dozen trips in for her to warm up. The donuts are FANTASTIC!!! Like many people, I was trying to find a place where my favorite donut can be found, cooked to perfection, at a reasonable price... Well that was me, I had been looking for a place that had Apple Fritters with the apple pieces in it and perfectly cooked. THIS IS THAT PLACE. However I needed to get donuts for other people, so I ordered some of their other pieces. Well, no joke those also are my NEW FAVORITES! The Old Fashioned donuts taste like "The Fair" Fry Bread, seriously, try it without the frosting and you'll agree. Also the White Cake ones are also amazing! Seasonally they have different donuts, currently it's fall and they have Pumpkin donuts which are great, also the applesauce in the fall/summer, are just amazing. I try to get the donuts without frosting because the taste of the cake is so delicious. Which you could never do any where else. These are my family's favorite donuts in town! Nothing fancy or gourmet about. Just good donuts! And, the people who make them are so kind. Plus they have the most random other stuff. You can get egg rolls whenever they're open (also very tasty) and a friend bought a cute blouse there. So random but worth the trip! read more

My favorite apple fritter. It's a beast, but it is not large to make up for a lack of quality. It could be half as big, and it would still be worth the $1.25. But it's twice as big as half it's size, so it's even more worth the cost. Scared of the fritter? The straight-up Raised Glazed looks like nothing special, but like the fritter, it's the best I've ever had. I've only seen the elusive Krispy Bar twice in the twenty visits I've made to Le Donut (French for "The Donut"), but if you are fortunate enough to stop in and see these babies, you'd be a fool not to get one. I am so fortunate to live near the best donut place in Tacoma! The owners are very friendly. I've never had a bad experience. We had family from out of town that are "foodies" and they were blown away by how tasty the donuts were that we had to come back the next day for more. It's such a good value. Amazing donuts. It is definitely up to date on the current donut fads with everything and anything covered in maple and big thick pieces of candied bacon on maple bars. I personally come for the plain cake donuts usually, maybe with some nuts on top but most recently I tried the bear claw. Now when I say bear claw its a serious bear claw like you're shaking hands with Baloo. This thing was delicious. Having enjoyed it so much I decided to get 2 dozen and take some to my office to share with my team. They were blown away and this is probably going to be a regular stop for us. I would have given it the full 5 stars but there is a catch. Since these donuts are AMAZING, an the place is kind of a small bakery, the supply is limited and gone fairly early. If you want the biggest and best solution you have to make it in between 5am and 7am. I am an evening worker myself but if you can make it in that early I know you will be blown away. I have not tried the egg rolls yet but other Yelpers would lead you to believe that they are as good if not better than the donuts so give it a shot and let me know ;) read more

We moved in down the street, so this is an easy spot to hit up. Because of our location, we have also walked to House of Donuts and Legendary Donut. While the selection at Le Donut is not as large as legendary, or as consistent as HOD, these donuts are by far the best! Bacon maple is delish! Dangerous that they are closest to our house because I just keep going back. The ham and cheese croissant is delightful as well, and I'm a sucker for random gift shop type items like they have around. Great vintage cards! I also don't mind the card minimum because I understand what it takes for a small business to operate and I want them to stay here! read more

I'm not a huge fan of donuts (don't let my two 5 star review of donut shops confuse you), but when a sweet item is done right. I want the world to know. This place is gangster. It's located in the heart and soul of Hilltop, there's a Western Union up in there, and this is the most gangster-est attribute of the them all....you can get deep fried egg rolls with your donuts! Where else on this beautiful plant does that happen?! I always get a few when I pick up donuts here to combat the sweet with salt and savory. As for the donuts themselves, they're darn good. Pao's might be just a smidgen better....but just a smidgen shy of perfection is a good thing. They have those whacky Voodoo Donut-esque donuts that the kids like (though I find Le Donut's bacon-maple bar is superior), I prefer the classics. And like at Pao's, my favorite here is the plain crueller. So go to Le Donut...don't be scerrd. Wire some money, get a donut and an egg roll....because you can. read more

I used the parking lot for an hour so I felt it was only right to pop in and buy something. I am so glad I did. I got a ham and Swiss croissant. Once I got home I heated it for 30 seconds as recommended. It was amazing. The bread was light and fluffy. The cheese was perfectly melted. I can't wait to go back and try a fritter. read more

We used to love this place! Today I got a glazed twist donut, got about 3/4 of the way through it and bit into a metal piece! So scary! Unbelievable value for the money! I'm a Type 2 diabetic and I shouldn't be eating donuts at all but every once in a while...c'mon, we all have to die sometime, right?! LOL. I went here the other day, right before a dentist appointment at SeaMar Dental (awesome dentists, by the way!) to get a broken tooth removed. I was not happy that I as soon going to have oral surgery, so I consoled myself with an iced caramel latte (so good!) and a $2 cinnamon twist donut. OMG!!!! Unbelievably great! Some donuts (Krispy Kreme!) are waaay too sweet for me and I was expecting the cinnamon twist donut at Le Donut to be the same. Nope, nope, nope! Yes, it was sweet. But not cloyingly sweet. There's a difference. After I ate my donut, I didn't have the strong desire to run into the bathroom and rinse all the sweet stuff out of my mouth. I didn't have that woozy "I've been dragged behind a pickup truck for miles" feeling that I get when I eat something overly sugary. No, the donut successfully curbed my craving for a sweet and the iced sugar-free caramel latte steadied my nerves for the dental appointment. Mmmmm, those were both so good! The young Asian lady and the older white lady were so friendly and treated every customer (I couldn't believe the foot traffic! This place must do a triple ton of business!) with the same friendliness. My wife and I have several more dental appointments at SeaMar, so we'll definitely be stopping by to get some goodies. The staff at SeaMar Dental loves Le Donut! Dental problems=donut consumption? Probably! But, as I said before, life is too short not to have some donuts! read more

Excellent donuts, good coffee, open early, reasonable prices: there's nothing not to like about Le Donut.

Are there bad donuts? I haven't eaten them. Le Donut serves a wide range of classics and some newfangled donuts, and they are a-okay. Options include vanilla and chocolate cake with nuts or sprinkles, apple fritters with chocolate or cinnamon toppings, and fancy extras are maple bars with bacon and fruit loop donuts. Being a cheapskate, I went for donut holes--a dozen for $1.25. Delicious! Maybe a little raw in the middle, but they were fluffy and light. The store itself is funny and random--if you need a "for rent" sign in addition to a donut, you are in luck. Thus continues my tour of Tacoma donut offerings. read more

I got a dozen assorted and one of the bacon maple bars. The bar was a bit pricey ($3) but I was so impressed! Much, much better than the burned shards of bacon Voodoo Doughnut tops theirs with. What really blew my mind was the French Cruller though! So beautiful and airy! Just perfect! And the guy behind the counter was polite and sweet. This place is great! I love donuts though, so my two main criteria are a fair price and fresh. This has both. This guy puts me to shame. Have only tried their donuts... which are fairly yummy! It's $5 for half a dozen and like $9.50 for a whole dozen. They also sell egg rolls, chai tea, soft drinks, and bubble tea. I typically get donuts at Le Donut when I've got a morning meeting or some event to go to and want to bring something good that people are going to like. I've never been disappointed here; donuts are made fresh every day and are all good. Especially good French crullers here and really good maple bars with bacon. Bought two dozen donuts for my staff this morning. I've bought donuts before from many other places in the area that were much more expensive- everyone agreed these are by far the best. I've gone many times and come away with a dozen donuts and 8 egg rolls because they smelled as good as the donuts. My favorite donut is the bacon maple bar. I had a morning sweet tooth so I stopped by right near opening. The owner was very friendly. I got the raspberry filled donut and it was delicious. Soft, and not overly sweet. I judge donut shops by their Apple Fritters. Compare to PAO's or Legendary, these are far superior. They cost a little more, but there is plenty of apple in these. They also do Apple fritters with various topping which are also excellent. I will drive out of my way to come here. read more
