I included the size I needed and the inspiration (Ninjago). Within a few hours, the bakery got back to me and confirmed my order and actually suggested a smaller cake for the # of people I needed. I appreciated that. We went with a simple vanilla inside along with vanilla frosting. The design turned out amazing!! I didn't get to try the cake (since I wasn't in town for the party), but everyone said it was moist and wasn't too sweet. Yay! The cake was on the pricey side. The 9inch Ninjago was $165. I really enjoy the rich French buttercream flavor from this Vietnamese bakery. The sweetness is just right and not overwhelming. My family has purchased cakes here for all sorts of occasions (see pics) and the quality is excellent. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the cupcakes. The pearl stuffed florals are held in place by PINS. We have lots of kiddos who could have easily been injured had I not discovered the numerous pins in the cupcakes or worse. Not a safe measure but overall, exercise caution and stick to larger cakes and you'll have no problem at all. read more

Macaroons are also very very good, with the exception of two out of the 10 I got they were hard so I'm assuming they were old :/ but I'll definitely be back for my own cake order in the future and more macaroons. It's not super sweet- it's perfectly balanced. The pandan cake is a green color and has a light hint of vanilla taste. The coconut was a perfect touch. They do a fantastic job decorating cakes. Mocha rum has toasted almonds on the side. Yummy! The cake is moist and coffee/rum flavor. I like to eat when it cold or even frozen. It's a Genoise cake layered with coffee flavored buttercream frosting. They drizzle the cake with a simple sugar. If you need a cake the day of the event, they always have mocha rum cake and Pandan cake available immediately. This place honestly isn't that bad. Sure, it's incomparable to real French bakeries, but those are out of the league when you're talking about Vietnamese bakeries. I came here a few years back, but I don't remember much of it so I can't say anything. However, I ordered the same thing this year and a few years ago- a Christmas mocha-flavored bûche de noël ... or log cake. I distinctively remember the wonderful taste it had in my mouth when i ate it back then. It wasn't too sweet. No- it was BARELY sweet. I mean, if you're a typical American who enjoys the cakes they have up in Kroger or HEB, I'd say this cake is perhaps 1.5x less sweet. I enjoy it, though. It allows me to eat more of it without getting sick (For some reason, I can't eat a lot of sweet stuff.) Anyways though, onto the review, hahah. I ordered the cake (they have this cake only during the Christmas times... and you have to pre-order it. You can choose between chocolate and coffee, 10 inch and 12 inch..?) And I believe it costed me $21. I think the 12 inch is $25. There were many people ordering the same cake when I was there. The cake itself had a strange rum-like smell to it. I didn't taste any rum, of course (not that I ever tried it before). There were pretty Christmas-related decorations around it and the outer icing was just beautiful. I couldnmt finish the entire cake even after two weeks or so, so I had to throw it away. I do plan on buying one next year (unless I decide on a marble slab ice cream cake..... yum). A few weeks later, I actually bought some macarons. They weren't too bad. I thought that the green apple flavor tasted pretty artificial, though. I wasn't a fan of the mango one, either. It's not Ladurée, obviously, so I can't really say much of it. It tasted prettt good, and I enjoyed it (because I felt like I was eating a truck load of money... Seriously, who pays over $1 for these tiny cookies? The fact that they're $2.50 in New York makes it worse....) Overall, I give it a 4 stars because I do believe that the icing could be a taaaad bit sweeter and perhaps the flavors of the macarons could be changed a bit. read more

I called Thursday night and it was ready for pickup Saturday afternoon. The person over the phone was very detailed in taking the order: flavor, size, decorations, pickup date/time, and recommendations. We had the pandan with coconut filling and topped with fruit, and it was just as good as when we last had them (only 2 years ago, so not that long ago, heh). I also saw in another review to try out the pâté chaud. They have a separate display case where they're stored at room temperature. My house mate's birthday was coming up so I asked him what kind of cake he wanted; he told me that he tried the pandan coconut cake here and loved it so I decided to get him the same cake. I used them for my sister's wedding cake. They did an amazing job. They responded quickly to each of my emails and the communication with them was very prompt and professional. I honestly wasn't give much info from the bride on how she wanted it, which I know had to make it hard for them. Luckily though the cake style we wanted was very simple. They accommodated us and allowed us to bring our own fresh roses and the way they had the flowers bloom and placed was AMAZING. The cake was a lot bigger than I thought it would be. They sent me a sample picture to show me what my cake would look like, and a detailed invoice to verify my order and request. We booked Le Duc for our wedding cake. It turned out so beautiful! Our cake was tiramisu and pandan (without the coconut) flavored. Our guests were mainly Filipino and Vietnamese and they liked that the cake wasn't too sweet. The pricing is much cheaper than other wedding cake vendors, but the cake still tasted great and looked beautifully made. It was delivered on time in perfect condition. The only complaint is that they're kind of hard to contact because mostly everything was done through email. Also they have a complimentary cake tasting, but it wasn't formal.
