My wife and I were in Paris and I had not had foie gras since entering Paris. We took a break during a quick rain shower and our waiter was super cool. I had only had foie gras one time before, when Michelle warmed it up. I liked that a lot better, but it is quite good with the toasted bread and a beer. If this review was for the food only, it would be a 3.5 or 4, but since this is a review of the whole experience - it is a solid 5+. From a food standpoint - we had a variety of dishes and all were good. My dish, the flat steak special was perhaps the best - accompanied with a nice salad and scalloped potatoes. The French fries - well, they were the best food item for sure. The service we had at Le Flores was the absolute best! It was so kind and attentive - that I want to go back just to support the owner and his team. Our daughter made a mess by spilling her mocktail- and the owner did not miss a beat or even blink, he cleaned everything up and made it so easy. He was just so kind with our little girl. The meal was such a great experience because of the kindness of the waitstaff and the owner. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone; and particularly anyone with a family. Had breakfast or lunch here for a week...excellent. Only warning is if you don't like smoke...always eat inside! The French are chain smokers and you will suffer from their habit outside. Sad, but can't fight the culture of smoking. read more

The employees here were super accommodating and friendly! I ended up talking to our server for a while about local attractions and things to do. The Warm Goat Cheese Salad was tasty but not the best in Paris (pretty much all the food in France is good though!). Their Warm Chocolate Cake dessert was delicious and definitely worth it! However, it was obvious that they tend to serve tables occupied by French people who came AFTER non French customers much faster than tables with tourists from other countries. A fairly standard Paris cafe. Free wi-fi, standard Parisian cafe fare (omelets, cheeseburgers, salads) and proximity to our hotel were the big draws. They're located on Rue du Bac about a block off of St. Germain, so they never seemed as busy as cafes on main streets or in more touristy areas. Not sure if its the best for those who want to people-watch for hours. Still, it's a nice friendly place well worth stopping in if you're in the neighborhood and looking for a bite. read more

The bride and I decided to find something close to our hotel that had dishes that weren't too heavy. On the menu board I spied the roasted chicken with rosemary and fries and salad for 15.5 Euro. We both ordered it and we're totally impressed with the quality of the food and superior customer service. We also got two scoops of ice cream for dessert. Mmmm. Discovered the restaurant when we were in a hurry to use the toilette plus was super hungry! Stepped in the door, the waiter shouts from the bar in Japanese, "Konichiwa!!!!" Okay, okay, no problem, he doesn't know we are Chinese... We rushed down to use the toilette. Came back up, sat down, the same friendly waiter comes over and asked where we were from. After we told him we were from China he asked, "so can I ask a question? Why do the Chinese people never say hi back, when I waive to them and say Bonjur on the sidewalk?" To which I answered, "well I think some Chinese people can be impolite, also maybe because they don't understand that Bonjur means hi. Most importantly, in major cities in China, people who say hi on the streets are always really pushy and trying to sell tourists something." He replied, "ok, yeah, I guess no problem, but when Japanese people come in, they will ask, 'can I sit here or there', Chinese people just find a seat and sit themselves down." To which I agreed, "yes, Japanese people are known to be extremely polite". He continued, "many Chinese people live on my street, they are good at making many things.... But they are also good at taking stuff back to their country and copy them". To which I agreed again and said, "yes, Chinese people do do that, they are good at copying." Then he brought us our food and I asked if he could take a photo of my friend and me. He agreed, but when he held the camera up, the belt fell in front of the lenses obstructing the camera view. So I paused him and asked him to move the string out of the way before he took the photo. THAT'S when he started to pout his lips and asked aggressively "what do you want?", then he clicked a quick one of my friend and me both with our eyes shut, and handed our camera back. After this, he stopped responding to us when we tried to waive him down for a spoon. When he brought the spoon, he dropped it (most likely on purpose). He came around and asked to clear my dish but after I said I was not done, he pretended not to hear me and started to clear away my dish anyway. I had to raise my voice then he said sorry, shrugged his shoulders and walked away shaking his head at us. Can you imagine?!?! So French people in China, please, you have no right to complain about the lack of service in Chinese restaurants! At least we don't great you using "Guten Tag!!!" Then before you order, ask you why do French people smell so bad and use so much perfume and why can't the French economy get its shit together like the Germans?!?! So my advise is, if you are asian (who accounts for roughly 60 % of the world population), only go here if you are Japanese! And if you are Chinese, this place just might give you enough ammunition to turn into an Italian mob and do a drive by shooting! Ate here on our first night in Paris and by the end of the week, this was one of our favourites. We started with the Charcuterie and Fromage platter, which was just wow! We could have gone home full of food just from this and ended up taking home a container with leftovers! The main courses were not fancy food, but well cooked, presented and with loads of flavour. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing who had quite a lot of personality who made us feel very welcome. With a bottle of Beaujolais wine the bill was very reasonable. This restaurant was a great find. It was close to where I recently stayed. My husband and I dined there twice and would have gone back a third time but we just didn't get a chance. The warm goat cheese salad was wonderful in my opinion. I ordered the French onion soup which was incredibly good. Honestly, the best I've ever had. My husband ordered a chicken dish which he loved. The smoked salmon special was delicious. My husband is a retired chef and trust me, we are both pretty picky. Everything we ordered was great. The service was warm and efficient. Attentive when appropriate. The young wait staff do an exceptional job here. Breath of fresh air here. In the states it's annoying to get that fake, "Hello, my name is so-and-so and I'll be your server". Unlike many restaurants in Paris, the tables are not crowded together.
