Wow. This place came recommended by a Parisian for traditional French cuisine. Myself and my guest were greeted kindly and using English was no problem for our server and the restaurant staff. The establishment itself was well ventilated for summer time and the interior was lovely...gold, rouge, and oak tones for a quaint but regal atmosphere. The homemade bread served was fresh and filling! Naturally, we ordered escargot and they were delicious, buttery, and plump. My guest mentioned her lobster meat was of impeccable quality and the salad was filled with top notch ingredients for a simple but full flavored meal. I ordered the calf liver, and I was BLOWN away. Another favorite Michelin restaurant. We were in the mood for seafood tonight and decided to try this place out. We had an awesome waiter Anton who made the dining experience amazing. As an American living in Paris who speaks French, I have never had an experience like this before. Let me state first that I have been to Petit Lutetia a number of times with smaller groups and have eaten well. I had family in town last week and decided to take them because I have always thought of it as a nice restaurant. We were a group of 5, and upon arrival, we were greeted nicely and shown to a good table. We placed our order for drinks, but about 3 minutes after taking our drink order, the waiter came over and asked us for our food order saying, "he thought it was time" and we were rushed to look at the menus and order. The food came out about 10 minutes after that, which made us question whether it had been just sitting in the back and reheated with how quickly it appeared in front of us. We had a nice meal and the food was fine.   At the end of the evening, they appeared with the bill at our table and the card reader. I thought this was bizarre as while living here, I have always asked for the check when I am ready but assumed maybe they thought Americans may not know that. Then, when swiping the card, our waiter asked if we wanted to tip which I found rude. I have always found this to be a way to take advantage of Americans who do not understand tipping culture in France, especially for subpar service, but before I could say no, my family had already done it.   After paying, we were trying to figure out where we were going next before stepping into the cold, when one of the managers came over and spoke to us rudely stating that we needed to leave the table now because the next group was there and waiting at the bar. This is what ruined the night. Our reservation was at 7 pm, and it was 8:50 when he came over to us after our incredibly rushed meal. I understand having a 2-hour limit for a table, but never less for a group of 5 especially when it has never been communicated. There are no notifications of this on their website or any of their confirmation emails.   Even more maddening, there were 3 other tables in the restaurant of people who had arrived before us and were still seated, including a group of kids who were disrupting the whole restaurant. We rushed to grab our coats from the racks in the back, which no one helped us retrieve, and hurried out of the restaurant too stunned by the rudeness to speak.   The next group with the 9 pm reservation had arrived 10 minutes early, and it is my understanding that the table belongs to those who are sitting at it until they get up. Those people should have been politely asked to wait until their reservation time, and we would have been gone by then with no need for a rude manager to ruin the night.   With this horrible, rushed service, I will never go back and will never send anyone I know. After looking at their reviews, I see similar comments as well. This restaurant needs major changes to their service. If you have a time limit, share that information ahead of time, and hold everyone to the same standard. If a table has already paid, there is no need to rush them any further.   We thought we were going to have a great night but instead spent the night discussing all the bad service at Petit Lutetia. Paris is full of wonderful restaurants, it is not worth it to pay these prices for a bad memory. Do not go here unless you can inhale your food and love bad service! read more

I am very disappointed with the restaurant. I had a reservation for 7 pm tonight. At 6:30 pm, I received a notification from JetBlue that my plane reservation for the next morning to New York was canceled because of the weather issues. I scrambled and spent almost two hours trying to arrange a new flight and hotel room. During that time, my wife and the hotel concierge called the restaurant to notify them of the situation, and they still charged me $118 for their cancellation fee, which I believe was unnecessary considering our dire and unavoidable circumstances. I certainly did not have to notify them at all if they were going to charge me anyway. This is not the first time we have been dealt with in an unprofessional and uncaring manner by this establishment, and I would highly recommend you patronize other, more worthy dining options in Paris. We have had numerous other delightful experiences over the many years of dining in our second city. I'd skip this one. read more

We made a last minute reservation here and it was one of the top experiences of our entire trip. We loved the ambiance, the enthusiastic staff, and the food. With our reservation we were seated immediately - with bread :) We ordered the "top of the beef filet steak au poivre" and the "farm chicken breast cocette with morels cream sauce." Filet came with fries (frites) - best I've had in Paris. And the. Chicken came with green beans - super delicious! We couldn't help but eat off of each other's plates. We opted out of dessert, as we were too full - but from just seeing them flaunted in front of us, the whipped cream & berries looked the most popular & the most appetizing! best meal we had on our 16 day trip in paris. wasn't very busy when we got here at 7, but by 7:30 it filled up!! ambiance is great and popping. we ordered the beef tartare, seared miso salmon, ginger & sesame, escargot, veal, the veal t-bone (which is temporarily replacing the duck dish that they are known for) and all of it was delish!!! the miso salmon was to die for. one of the best ones i've probably had ever. my dad said the escargot was also the best he's ever had, so I had to try one for the first time. it was delicious, the sauce that it was in was so tasty. we got the crème brûlée, strawberry sorbet and espresso martini for dessert. no complaints at all the food and the waiter was amazing read more

Our server was in training, and he was super sweet. He spoke English well, too. It does take long for the food to come out, so just enjoy the dinner! The locals were quite surprised when a couple of English speaking Americans walked thru the door. It is a little off the beaten path for many tourists and we'll worth the journey. The small warm restaurant welcomes you as you walk thru the door. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! We started off with some lobster bisque (creamy and delicious). For the main courses we enjoyed the veal and steak. The steak was peppery and delicious, prepared in the proper French way. The veal was tender with a crispy breading. The steak was served with a generous portion of heaping hot fries. The veal served with a refreshing arugula salad topped with fresh tomatoes and Parmesan. Cannot complain! You have to make a reservation, but it's really easy online. Once you're there, everyone is SUPERRRR FRIENDLY and treat you like family. Its really loud inside so maybe not the best place for the first couple dates but i mean if you're an American in Paris ya'll probably aren't on your first couple dates, yea. I digress, sorry lol. The food was awesome, escargot for the first time, yummmm.... The beef filet which, is a go to for my partner and I if we aren't eating ramen, was bomb!!! However, when I went to pay for the bill, the waitress took my card and then asked if we'd like to leave a tip (assuming because we were Americans). I agreed to a 10% tip; she then input the amount and swiped my card. When she handed me the receipt she had added a 22% tip and then walked away. If dining here I'd advise next time just to say no to any tip since they either clearly can't do math or like to take advantage of customers. read more

We were recommended this restaurant from the previous President of Normandy (Hervé Morin) whom we met at another restaurant, the night before. The restaurant was packed with people and many seemed quite happy. The drink menu was delightful as wellWe were greeted by the owner, whose name I cannot remember, but he was awesome and hospitable. Many were happy with their food (i.e. - King Crab Salad, Large Prawns, Mushroom risotto, Salmon to name a few). One person didn't particularly like their food, but that is just one person. The service was ok. We had to continue to ask for water and more bread, but all in all, it was a good restaurant. Now let's get to the desserts!!!!! OMG! The Baba for Two, Mango/Passion fruit sorbet, and Brioche French Toast were all amazing! The rum cake had too much rum, but the cake itself was delicious. This is the rare restaurant where I really like the food but the service ruins it. Surprisingly for what is clearly a scene restaurant, the food is actually really good here. Our French friends have taken us a few times, as it is a favorite of theirs and close to where they live. But I've sometimes gotten the impression that the manager gives them a bad table to put them in their place when they bring us. We've never spent under €150 pp there, so this treatment strikes as especially shabby. We usually see a reality TV star or some such C list French celebrity getting fawned over. Similar vibe to going to the restaurant at Hotel Costes in the old days. Sort of dreary, really, and not what I want out of a restaurant. Some people will read this and decide this is exactly their type of restaurant (before I was ancient I, too, only went to clubs that had lower than three stars on Yelp...) We had their Escargot (ordered two for 4 of us), veal chop, famous roast duck, salmon. Desert we had the Pavlova, Apple tart. Bill was paid however stupidly I wanted to make sure the tip was included which is always is being in Paris, but the guys said no! & I think I had my full glass of wine did not think anything of it and left €40 tip! I would have left more tip anyways but I felt I was duped by him thinking I won't go back! We did not again and I'm only give it 3 stars as I did not like to be duped! Local establishment with mostly locals but with an English menu. Friendly staff and very accommodating. Le Bon Marche is just a few blocks away so it is easy to shop the afternoon there then walk over to Le Petit Lutetia for dinner. Food is good and at a decent price. Wine is also decently priced. Couples - walk over and ask for a table in the back for some privacy with dinner by candlelight. I find if you just sit back and watch the French do their thing, uninterrupted w our American impatience, your dining experience will be fabulous from beginning to end. And it was just so here at Le Petit Lutetia. Candles, nice linens, beautiful place settings. The interior is cozy and charming. Of course they served petite bottles of delicious Sancerre. The Burratta w plum tomatoes, olive oil and fresh basil was the very best I've ever had. It was light and rich and creamy all at once! I wasn't so pleased w my overly blanched whole artichoke w the too Dijon mustard Hollandaise. However, the Sole Meuiére was a marvel. Filleted table side and represented in all its buttery lemony golden splendor. It was amazing. The Duck Confit served from black Staub vessels along w crunchy sliced golden potatoes rounded it out for perfection. I was disappointed as dessert menu was limited and no soufflé was offered. Very good French. No English menus but staff are kind and many bilingual. Smoked salmon with bellinis very fresh and not fishy. Gazpacho wonderful with a little kick of spice. Fish carpaccio which almost never see here. Duck confit with amazing potatoes. Served in a cast iron pot. A must and hit the mark as I was needing a confit fix! I was very pleased with this restaurant. I love a place where the bulk of the menu changes daily to accommodate for fresh ingredients. To start, I chose the mussels. Honestly, to start, I chose a glass of wine, followed by the mussels. Both were delicious. For the main course, I went with the sole and potato dish that was on the daily menu. And of course another glass of wine. I was a little concerned that the meal wouldn't be exciting enough for my palette. I mean, just fish and potatoes? Shouldn't there be a veggie on the plate? Where's the color? Thankfully, my concerns were squashed. The dish was amazing. Not quite "lick the plate" good, but definitely , "I am going to eat all this even though I was full 7 bites ago" good. I have to start off by saying the food was great. If i could give 5 stars for just the food i would. now the customer service was another story.. They opened at 7 like most restaurants in the area. When i arrived i was the first customer of the night since they were actually still setting up when i got there. After i was sat and given a menu i was left unattended for almost 20 minutes. Was not offered water or anything to drink. When a waiter finally came to take my order his first words to me were, "what do you want".. Now maybe the waiter didn't speak better English so it could have been an issue of translation, i was a expecting a "how may i help you". I ordered soup and for dinner i had rigatoni. I was eventually asked what i wanted to drink and i ordered a wine. After drinking the wine i found a fly in it. Not only that but it seems many small flies where in the restaurant.The staff did replace my wine with a fresh cup.I was then offered water which i took to later see in my bill i was billed 7 Euro for water. What a wonderful find in Paris. Le Petit Lutetia is wonderful. And don't be surprised if you are the only American dining in the bistro. It's very French with a very Bistro atmosphere. Still, you will feel right at home as some waiters are totally fluent in English. The restaurant has both sidewalk and inside dining and the food is terrific. I highly recommend the chicken for two. Prices are very reasonable. Whether you are on the Right or Left Bank, it's well worth the trip to this wonderful French restaurant! Enjoy! read more

Do not eat here if you are American! The owner told me 3 times that a bottle of champagne would cost 18 euro. I also asked the waiter if this was correct and he told me "no, 16 euro." I speak enough French to say 18 or 80, but didn't try because they spoke perfectly good English and repeated it to me multiple times. They gave us a bill for an $80 bottle. The waiter then came out and proceeded to yell in my face and acted like he didn't speak English( which he clearly did) we told him that we will certainly pay our bill but they were rude and disrespectful in the way they spoke to us. They waiter was loud and horribly disrespectful. He was very aggressive in his actions, tone, and verbiage. If this was the only restaurant left to eat at in Paris...I would rather starve.
