When I dropped off 8 cotton short sleeved men's shirts to be laundered, I asked what the per shirt cost was. I was quoted $4.25/shirt. When I picked up the shirts, I was charged $48. Do the math. Based on the quote, it should have been $34. I questioned it and was told that the shirts cost $5.75 and that one had to be hand ironed so that was more. I don't know if they are incompetent or just trying to take advantage of a new customer. Needless to say, it was very bad business, and I will not be going back there.

And it's a but pricier than other places. The dryers are a bit of a ripoff. It's 4 minutes for $,25 but the machines stop and go back the other way continually so you get considerably less than 4 minutes. Plus, I put $ into dryer, went outside to read and came back in only to see the dryer stopped asking me to hit 'resume' for some reason. Arrrgh.

But the real reason it's so much better is they have a fabulous person on staff here named Monte. Monte was nice enough to help me with the big machines along the back wall. He says there from Germany and are Superior to the old style box machines. He showed me how to operate the machine and was very professional. They are really lucky to have him. I'm not a brain surgeon when it comes to operating laundry equipment. Needlessly to say Monte is a wonderful addition. Having a 711 a few doors down is also nice.

It was well lit and seemed safe (although I can't imagine anywhere in Fairfax not safe). It's not the cleanest place. It's a bit older. When we were there, there were a couple of machines that were out of order. But, the laundry mat served it's purpose.
