This was a prefect lunch stop! We were greeted by a hostess at the front counter who showed us to a table! Our server arrived and provided us with excellent recommendations. It was lunch time so we choose the lunch combos. These combos are such a great deal, $6.99 for a drink, sandwich and a soup or salad. We both opted for the salad and sandwich. Our server started us with bread and garlic dip. (this dip is loaded with fresh garlic and it is yummy!) Bread was heavenly, fresh baked. Our salads came and they were loaded with fresh ingredients like tomato and cucumber. I ordered the chicken shawarma and my boyfriend had the lamb shawarma. Both came rolled up in a flat bread with more garlic sauce. They were delicious. Our server was attentive and kept everything moving. She offered us dessert but we stuffed..... so we took it to go! The food is alright.. I ordered the lamb kabob with rice combo, and also tried the chicken shawarma. I only got one out of the great amount of lamb (plus) that was cooked through. The chicken also needed a little more time cooking. Overall, I probably wouldn't recommend this place if you want that true Mediterranean food. read more

When in Michigan you gotta try the Mediterranean food. A couple different places came up when I searched and this one was on my way back home so I decided to try it. The restaurant is brightly lit on the outside, can't miss it! The inside is nice, normal restaurant seating so very casual not intimate. The host and waitress were very friendly and checked up on me frequently which is always great! I ordered the shawarma combo and shish combo. They bring out bread and garlic sauce as an appetizer which is nice cause I LOVE garlic sauce. The bread was okay definitely not the best. The water was horrible and I'm chalking that up to not being cincinnati Ohio water. My meals also came with the choice of rice,veggies , or fries. As well as a soup or salad. I upcharged to the fattoush and also got the lamb chili. The lamb chili was basically a cup of beans so I wouldn't recommend! The fattoush was good however I think there was more onions than lettuce. The shish and shawarma combo were really good ! Definitely big portions! Overall it was a good experience. read more

I've tried Mediterranean food a few times now and it isn't my favorite cuisine, but Le Kabob did help me come around to it, which is a feat in its own! For one, I love Le Kabob because they give you such huge portions and the meals all come with quite a few add ons like the delicious bread with the garlic butter. The 'butter' is more like pure grounded garlic and was really intense in flavor, you only need a little of the spread because it goes a long way! (I wish someone told me this before I plopped it on. lol) I got a sampler platter for one that came with grilled meat, roasted peppers, chicken, rice, grape leaves, a spinach & meat pie, babaganosh, hummus and a parsley salad AND a soup. Not small little tastes either, full side plates of these items! It said it was for one but me and my roommate ate until we were fully, full and STILL had food to take home. :) restaurants not skimping on portion sizes is a HUGE plus for me. All of the flavors were really intense so this is why I think Mediterranean isn't for me, but it was still good so I can't knock Le Kabob! I love flavors but the food here is unique and that's apart of the reason I still recommend food enthusiasts to try. :) At least try it, its unique and may take some getting used to, but it's still very likable. read more

In July 2023, I ordered a "Greek Salad" from the menu under "Salads." This was not under the Appetizer section, but under the entrees called "Salads." The Greek salad was on a tiny plastic plate and was the same size as the side salad my friend received with his meal. For $10, I received a tiny salad. I felt completely ripped off and gypped. When I asked if the salad was indeed the restaurant's "entree" size, the waiter assured me it was. The Greek salad I ordered bears no resemblance to the photos of the Greek salads shown on this site. Well we came back, it was so good. The tabouleh was to die for, and Moe's was a total gem! We have a mom to be present and she wanted to know if the feta was pasteurized. He didn't know, but found out, smiling his ear to ear grin the whole time. The coffee. Oh, the coffee.* I had a side of the gyro meat and was very disappointed. It tasted nothing like any I'd had before, so we won't do that again. No avgolemono soup, so I went with lentil, also not a fave, but I will return, if for no other reason than the coffee. I went to Le Kabob on a gloomy winter day with my work group for a Friday lunch outing because...well we just felt like having some Mediterranean food. On their website the place looked like a quick fast-food kind of place but we were surprised to find out that it was a sit-down place with a waiter and all. After sitting down on a far away table in a dark corner, we were brought a basket of little pita breads with garlic butter. The pita bread was nice and warm and looked like they had been baked just minutes ago. The garlic butter just melted on top of the pita and made for a tasty pre-meal munching. We were also happy to learn that we could get an unlimited refill of the little pita breads and we sure took advantage of the offering. After placing our orders, the food arrived nice and hot about 10 minutes later. I had the Falafel wrap and it was pretty delicious. The wrap had lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and the Falafels all brought together in Tahini sauce. I got to say though that the lettuce tasted a little bit on the bitter side but the wrap was still good. Although I enjoyed my wrap, I would say that this was not the case with my friend's chicken schwarma wrap. I don't know if they forgot or what but they said the wrap was pretty bland and didn't have any onions, lettuce, or sauce for that matter. Also, I would have to say that the portion size of their food was a bit on the small side. It's a good thing that they have those complimentary pita bread baskets otherwise we would all be going back hungry. While I am gracious that there is a decent Mediterranean place on 28th street, I see no reason why this place couldn't be converted into a quick fast-food order off the menu on the wall kind of a place. While the wraps were delicious, they could be stuffed more with vegetables. Also, this place can use some remodeling with new lighting and decorations. read more

If I could give this dump zero stars, I would. I ordered a combo plate and spinach pie off of Postmates. In the order notes I specifically said "No side salad or tahini sauce. Add hummus and/or extra rice as substitutes if possible." Guess what shows up? Zero hummus and double tahini. Not a side salad, but a FULL sized salad and *no* spinach pies. I'm pissed off immediately but there's a ton of rice and meat so I'm like "Well, at least this is correct." Proceed to try the chicken and the shwarma and realize that this is fucking dogfood level quality of meat. I'm not exaggerating. This is *the worst* meat I've ever had from a kebab spot. I almost refuse to believe that this wasn't served out of a can in the back. I immediately called my bank and had them pull this transaction. Now I want you to think about that for a second - this restaurant was so bad that I was able to successfully convince Chase bank through receipts and pictures that I was the victim of what is essentially fraud. Avoid this restaurant like the plague. Speaking of the plague, I'm pretty sure these animals they get their meat from are plague victims because I cannot stress how fucking low-tier the meat is. read more

Used to be flawless Lebanese with a consistency that made it a regular stop. However, the past few visits have been a disappointment to say the least. From getting salads for takeout without dressing to having them forget food items all together it's been a downhill journey and a growing frustration especially when they used to kill it. And while I held out writing an updated review hoping they'd get it together I was inspired tonight by an entire order of humus with chicken that consisted of all raw meat. On a side note they didn't forget anything from our order this time around and the grilled chicken from my wife's salad was cooked perfectly but the raw chicken was disgusting and was tossed along with the bed of humus it came in. read more

I live in Detroit just outside of Dearborn, MI where you can get the best of mediterranean foods, so I know the good from the bad. Le Kabob of Grand Rapids, MI was great! I ordered the basics including a beef shawarma, tabouli, bread and garlic paste with a bit of baklava but it was all excellent! These basics are a good measure for middle-east foods and Le Kabob did a good job! Garlic paste was a whipped delete. Smooth textured. The tabouli was very fresh, and not overly oily. The beef shawarma has a perfect balance of flavors - fresh meat - yummy. To top it off the baklava was topped with just right amount honey and cinnamon. Excellent service/ quality food. We go here quite a bit to the 28th street location. The food is always fresh and tastes great. The lamb vegetable soup is super good. Lots of meat and veggies in a tasty broth. The kabobs, be it chicken, beef, or the kafta are always delicious and cooked the way we want them. The chicken is always really juicy, not sure how they do it. Some of the best rice we've had also. The only thing we wish, is that we could still get falafels by the piece. The servers told us you can only get a whole order now. We can't eat that many, but we skip it now. Taking out a group of clients, I allowed them to choose the restaurant. Le Kabob is a larger strip mall style restaurant. It looks like it was converted from a Big Boy or something similar into a mid scale Mediterranean restaurant. When our full group of ten showed up they brought out the highlight of the night... homemade pita style bread with toum ( a garlic, with whipped oil and lemon). I ordered appetizers of Spicy Hummus and vegetarian and lamb grape leaves. The two bowls of hummus came to the table and neither were spicy. The server said she could fix it but we just kept them as is. The hummus and grape leaves were not bad but nothing to write to yelp about. After receiving our appetizers it took quite awhile for the server to come back and take or order. I was nervous because we were on a time schedule but even with the late order our service flow was good. Another highlight for me was the ground lentil soup. It was like a lentil bisque packed with flavor. I also tried the Tabbouleh but it was just parsley with out much contrast or depth. For dinner we shared sampler platters. I tried the chicken, beef and lamb shish kabobs. They were all too dry for my taste, they lamb and beef were ordered medium but cam out mid well-well done. The grilled vegetables were the highlight for me in the entree course. The one thing I have to say is this is not a place you will leave hungry. Every table around left with to go boxes and our table left with five to go boxes filled with leftovers. I know that the majority of my group really enjoyed their meals so that is a bonus. Don't let the kitschy, chain restaurant sounding name fool you. Le Kabob is Le KaBOMB! See something can be of quality and kitschy at the same time. Seriously, the portions are generous, the flavor is robust but not overpowering and the food is fresh and served with aplomb. This time around my boo got the shrimp skewers platter with fattoush salad (sans feta). She said it was the best take out she had in a long time. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned. I tried the ghallaba which I had to google to discover what it was ... one of the best searches I've made in while. It is a savory, Old World stew that is Middle Eastern comfort food. Even the vegetarian version I ordered was satisfying and hearty. I ordered with hummus and it was served with the hummus surrounding it. It gave a creamy texture to the hearty stew. Tried Le Kabob for the first time Saturday night, and it was really good. First of all, we ordered takeout, and my boyfriend picked it up on his motorcycle, and it was so well packaged, it all arrived perfectly intact! The fattoush salad was delicious, as was the hummus and pita. We also ordered the Shish Combo for two, which was tasty, but lacked a little in the flavor department. The Kafta was yummy, but the chicken, beef, rice, and veggies could have used a little more seasoning. Nonetheless, we ate all of it, and would definitely order from Le Kabob again! read more

WORTH the trip!!!! We definitely wrote it off upon walking in but the service and food was BEYOND our expectations! Fresh, pillowy naan is served with this delightfully garlicky dip (for free btw), the serving sizes per price point were I N S A N E. We loved the bhaba, hummus, potatoes, house salad, spicy red sauce, and veggie platter. We didn't love the spinach pies, but the grape leaves and falafel were full of flavor and freshness. Order a meal and then take leftovers home. The naan is amazing and we definitely filled up on that without meaning to. I am still stuffed and we took plenty of leftovers home.
