I honestly love this place so much. I come here most weekends for their lunch buffet (Sat & Sun). There's always a huge variety of choices and they change every week. There's always a few new dishes for me to try and I love trying new things. Yesterday there was a fish curry I've never had before and it was terrific. I also love their dosa night on Wednesdays where there is a little buffet and all the little dosas you can eat (it turns out I can only eat two). I really truly recommend coming here. I stopped here on a whim for a quick dinner, but had to switch to carry out. The staff was accommodating in that shift, but I will say, the food was not good. I ordered the paneer tikka masala, but the sauce lacked flavor and spice (I ordered Medium). I also got naan and a mango lassi. The lassi was good. read more

Hubby & I have driven past this place SO many times.. . We finally decided to give it a try & Praise the Lord that we did!! The flavors were so robust and all the staff were very nice and genuine. We really enjoyed our time there. I forgot to take a picture but...I have to mention about their Mango Lassi (Mango juice & yogurt). It was so yummy!! I love Indian food and haven't tried "Lollipop Chicken" before. Wow....I'm in love with it now..!! Shrimp had good flavor as well but it didn't hit us like other dishes. Chili garlic naan was so tasty as well. Everything was just so flavorful! Looked like they have lunch buffet as well even though they didn't have it today. I normally never order briyani from indian restaurants. But my coworker got some from here and it was amazing. Both the chicken and egg briyanis are really good. The chicken is perfectly tender and seasoned, I could eat just the chicken by itself. The rice in the briyani is also perfectly seasoned. After trying it I had to order some for myself. The portion is decent size, you can expect leftovers. It comes with raita and a curry. I personally would rather only have the raita and skip the curry. I also ordered the tandoori chicken, which was good too especially the chutney it comes with. I definitely will be going back to try something new here! read more

Probably my favorite Indian food in Grand Rapids as of March 2024. They have some unique dishes that I don't recall seeing elsewhere and their prices are more reasonable than other local Indian restaurants. Ambiance and service are nothing to get excited about and there's no alcohol served by them but the food is excellent! read more

The food there was amazing! I personally think it's the best butter chicken in Grand Rapids. The Samosas were pretty good although the wrapping could've been better, but the filling was really good. The service there was pretty good as well as they tried to make sure that everything was okay. The restaurant was pretty quiet when I went, but I went during a time that it wasn't busy. read more

I've been trying to get to this place for the past month or two. I'm a regular shopper at the Spice of India, right next door, and this restaurant is in my neighborhood (Alger Heights!) But just turning off of 28th Street and into the parking lot can be a bit hairy at certain times of day; that's par for 28th St. Once in the parking lot there is plenty of room to park and even a turn-about for getting out again. Great location - just hard to get off that road sometimes... Once inside the air was fragrant with incense and the hostess greeted me right away. It was just me or I would have gone splitsies with a couple of friends to try more stuff. I ordered the Mulligatawny soup (delicious), garlic naan (DELICIOUS! maybe best I've ever had) and the Saag/spinach entree (very good indeed). The spinach had a bit more cream than I like but the spices were delicate and fragrant, the rice fluffy and perfect. I brought a bunch home to have for lunch tomorrow - yeah! I am already planning my next trip back! Next time I'll try a Biryani dish - their specialty apparently. I'm so glad to have great Indian food in the neighborhood. The lunch special looks good too... This place makes some of the best Biriyanis, especially the Avakai Kodi Biriyani! We live in Southeast Michigan, where we have many India restaurants, but the food at Grand Indian Cuisine is far better better in taste, quality, and price, compared to others. The staff and service is amazing as well; a couple of times we were delayed due to traffic, but they were kind enough to keep the restaurant open for us. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Indian food! read more

I intended to take pictures when my food arrived, but after a quick bite of everything I couldn't stop. First off, the garlic chili naan is the best naan in Grand Rapids! It's chewy and soft. Really, really delicious. I also ordered the Chicken Chettinadu and the flavor was so warm and spicy; incredible taste. I also thought the chicken was cooked perfectly. The best part of my meal was dipping some of my naan in the sauce. Order this one! Besides the chettinadu, I also ordered Hyderabadi Special dum Biryani with egg. Wow!! This one is a treat. The flavor is soooo well developed. It was decently spicy and I enjoyed the seasoned hard boiled egg! Is this my new favorite Indian spot? I'm beginning to think so. I cannot wait to try the other chicken dishes! Give them your business!!! 10/10 read more

This place is amazing. Spicy, but amazing. The Kadai is so good, the naan is yummy, the lunch boxes are great values. They serve southern Indian food which not everyone in town does and you can find things like dosa, chicken 65, and REALLY GOOD biriyani. Don't sleep on this place, we need to make sure they stay in business. read more

Have been to this place a couple times now and the food is authentic, tasty and fragrant. The chef has worked at Saravana Bhavan (for those who have eaten there in India would know the taste and quality of their food) in India, so that gives some confidence on the food preparer. The Rasam is great with plenty of flavor from the chopped garlic, cilantro, black pepper and tomatoes. The South Indian and North Indian entrees are delicious and satisfying. So far, the service is good, price is reasonable though the space is not too big. At the moment, this is the only Indian restaurant we would visit after (the formerly known) Curry leaf has lost its way with food and service. read more

Had buffet lunch here recently to give them a try. Food was good but a bit generic. Expected better cuisine and meat like lamb or goat. I'm not a big meat eater bu considering lunch is $18 i expected those meats because they are special. But that's why I tried them. Next time, I'll just go to Curry Leaf. Excellent tasting food on the buffet every time we have been in. This has become our go to Indian restaurant when we crave it and drive about 35 miles for it. Always just the right spice level. The prawn biryani and methi murgh chicken really were great. read more
