Last night was our third time having dinner at Marzano and will definitely not be the last. We love the BYOB part, of course. The food is great, and prices are reasonable. We particularly loved the verde salad ($15), the fish of the day (orata, filleted table side) and the divine desserts, limoncello cake and cream brûlée cheesecake. They should be in the Dessert Hall of Fame! And we cannot say enough about how pleasant and friendly all staff members are. Our server, Francesco, definitely added to our enjoyment. Our experience was good however the short ribs I ordered( that was one of the restaurants special on Christmas Eve. ) were very dry. I had to ask for au jus to replenish it with moisture. Disappointing due to the price we paid. read more

The service and the atmosphere were both very nice. The food was very, very mediocre for the price point. We had: - Bread: The bread was fine. It should have been served with olive oil, not two plastic packets of butter. - Calamari: This was ok. It did not have the jalapeños that were advertised. - Arancini: Not good at all. Very, very mushy with a layer of beef that didn't need to be there. - Veal saltimbocca: Also not good. The veal was tough. The prosciutto lacked any crispiness. The cheese wasn't quite melted all the way. There was no sage flavor. The dish was covered in oil. - Ribeye: Very, very not good. The steak was big. The temperature was right. There was zero-- and I mean zero-- flavor. - Crème brûlée cheesecake and tiramisu were both fine. Neither were particularly large portions. It was $135 for two without tip or drinks. My first time in Jenkintown, my son had a Football game in Northeast Philly and after the game he wanted Ravioli. Using Yelp, I found Ristorante Marzano. Walking in I got the feel of a family run restaurant. The hostess and waitresses happily greeting regular customers by name, even though it was our first time here my family received a very warm welcome. I note that because I've been to small local restaurants that I've felt slightly like and outsider compared to the regular patrons, but not at Marzano we felt comfortable and welcomed. Our waitress Josephina, was attentive and efficient with her service. Marzano provides complimentary fresh hot bread and butter for your table that was excellent. We ordered Calamari, Arancini and Antipasto as our appetizers The Calamari is very lightly breaded and tender, the Antipasto was enjoyable and the rosted peppers are excellent, my favorite was the Arancini which was very close to my Aunt Maria's Arancini (by Italian Family law I can't say it was as good as hers) I could have easily eaten 2 orders of the Arancini myself! My son, who's craving for Ravioli was the reason for our visit to Marzano, got his Cheese Ravioli with red sauce. He loved them so much that unfortunately he finished them all and poor old Dad didn't get to eat one!(He's grounded!) A friend of our also order Ravioli with Pink Vodka Cream Sauce (as listed on the menu) she also cleaned her plate and was happy with her meal. My wife ordered Paccheri Cremosi, again I was angered because she enjoyed her selection so much she didn't leave anything behind for me to finish off! I order Bolognese Sauce with Linguine cooked Al dente, the menu had it served with Rigatoni which is logical, so that the sauce is captured inside the Rigatoni, but I love to twirl so Linguine for me. To my delight my Linguine was served, as ordered, Al dente!!! Marzano is a real Italian Restaurant but this confirmed they are a proud Italian Restaurant! I always order pasta Al dente but sadly, either the waitress in other restaurants doesn't relay that to the kitchen or the kitchen in other restaurants doesn't comply to my request. Marzano cooked the Pasta perfectly Al dente and the Bolognese was delicious! I finished the pasta and cleaned my bowl with the fresh hot bread. Nothing left for anyone to sample! Think we are done?! Nope! Dessert time! We got Oreo Cheesecake, Raspberry Cheesecake both excellent!!!! And and order of Creme Brule Cheesecake to go for my Daughter(she loved it!) When we were done my wife had to roll me to our car! I was full and happy on our drive back to South Jersey! If Marzano was closer we would definitely be regulars, if we're ever in the area again we'll be back. read more

This restaurant has a spacious parking lot at the back. Very spacious dining area. They can accommodate a couple of groups of private parties. They do not have paper menu. You can see it by scanning the QR code or they will lend you an iPad. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The complimentary Italian bread is warm and crusty. Fried calamari wasn't heavily breaded. Instead of being served in rings, they came in bite sizes. Fresh and perfectly cooked. Pear salad: arugula with poached pear and goat cheese. I normally do not the bitter flavor of arugula but this one isn't bitter at all. Very delicious and didn't have too much dressing. My entree is halibut with crab meat served with potatoes and vegetable. Big slice of the halibut, the crab on top is a bit too salty. Dessert menu isn't available online. Instead the waitress brings you a tray of the available dessert options, very inviting. Peanut butter pie is delicious and so is limoncello cake. Tiramisu is ok. read more

Came here for a birthday and it was so good! The food was so fresh and tasty and the service was even better. We ordered a few pizzas and some Italian pasta dishes. My wife and I had an early dinner here on Christmas Eve. The food was good, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was very festive. However, we ordered a halibut special and were shocked when we got the bill and it was $20 more than the most expensive item on the menu. Yes, we should have asked for the price ahead of time, but it absolutley never occurred to either of us that a fairly ordinary halibut entree would be $53. Be sure to ask the price before ordering a special. While this surprising cost didn't ruin our evening, it impacted our experience and left us with a bad taste in our mouths, when it should have been nothing but deliciousness. read more

Dinner will not disappoint! We had the eggplant rollatini (special appetizer of the day) and the sauce was delicious. This was followed by the ravioli, cooked Al diente, with vodka sauce (my favorite). The Paccheri Cremosi had a nuanced flavor and the ingredients fit well together. The sauce was very thick and could have been thinner but the flavor made up for it. Our server came over with a plate of dessert options. My husband decided on the crème brûlée cheesecake for us to share . It was a "melt in your mouth" situation that we were happy to be in. Come here with room to eat! I am very disappointed in this restaurant. I have been a regular of Marzano's for several years and have never had an issue. I attended a meeting in one of their private rooms and placed a separate order for Branzino and a slice of limoncello cake. Due to all of the cost and supply issues restaurants are experiencing, I wasn't surprised when I was presented with a $47.00 bill. But when I got home and opened the dish to see what looks more like leftovers, I was shocked and pissed off. The attached picture is exactly what I was given. That is shameful! I understand raising the prices, but I find it completely unethical to raise prices and cut the amount of food. I will never patronage this place again! read more

Came here for my wedding rehearsal late last month and it was beautiful. They sat 16 of us in a private dining area which made it feel more intimate. The food in general was good, but I think the Paccheri Cremosi could've used more flavor. Cheese sauce was lacking in flavor. The calamari was cooked perfectly. Very crispy just the way I like it. Overall, I would definitely come back here. I like the BYOB option, because wine at Italian restaurants is usually pretty expensive anyway. read more

02/17/2020 Note: I would rate this place 3.5 stars I would first like to say the restaurant does have parking, however it is located on the opposite side of where the sidewalks are. The door directly from Old York is actually the back entrance, not the front entrance. The layout of the building was actually pretty confusing. There are street parking if their own parking lot is full, but you have to pay so make sure to check the parking lot first. The restaurant interior is pretty good and spacious. The staff is attentive as well and had some good recommendations. When we asked questions regarding the ingredients, they were knowledgeable in their answers. They gave us bread as a starter. We ordered Calamari Fritti as an appetizer while I ordered the Risotto Frutti di Mare as my main. The bread and Calamari Fritti was pretty good. The calamari was pretty crunchy and sauces definitely complimented well. The Risotto Frutti di Mare looked small but it was surprisingly filling. The one thing I wanted to say about the Risotto Frutti di Mare was that it was a bit bland for my taste and felt soggy. It was not a bad meal overall, but I wasn't blown away by the taste - which is why I gave this place overall 3.5 stars. The service was terrific. We were greeted with smiles and seared immediately. The server was professional and informative with the specials. The atmosphere was very nice. The restaurant is simple, but nicely, decorated. Very clean. But the food was less than good for the expense. My salad was the romaine spine; white and hard. The entire salad! My veal was very good, but the tomatoes were too few and the arugula was more lettuce than my salad had! The tiramisu looked (and tasted) like it had been left out overnight. All-in-all, not what I expected for $120. No- I would not recommend and I'll not be returning. read more

Nice local Italian restaurant with good food and good service. Have outside seats available during the summer which is very pleasant unless the sun is boiling down. The ambience is OK but the acoustics aren't terrific. Attic tends to get noisy inside. My favorite table is that the front window, which has a lot more privacy and affords the opportunity for good conversation. Prices are reasonable. read more

First time and last. Wasn't impressed at all with the food. Service was very attentive...shouts out to Giuseppina. Ambience was nice as well. But let's get back to the food so our starters was the salad (Verde & Alle Perre) which was good. Then we got the rice balls which lack so much flavor it was pretty much blah. Our entrees was pappardelle primavera. It was bland. Needed more flavoring. My husband got the pasta special and was explained to have shrimp (which were a nice size) and filet mignon. I was thinking the filet mignon would be sliced but when we got the dish the filet mignon was chopped like beefaroni and by no means worth $39 buck at all (see pic). read more

My party of 10 dined at Marzano for my birthday dinner last night. The restaurant is a little tucked away on a quiet block in Jenkintown and is approximately 20 minutes from the far NE. There is a lot of onsite parking and street parking but the spaces call fill up quickly. Inside they have two private dining rooms and the main dining area. We were lucky enough to be able to dine in one of the private rooms. I was grateful for this as the main dining room was very loud and lively. Overall service was ok. The waitress checked in often and most of the courses flowed nicely. There was a huge gap between the appetizers and entrees though. We waited about 35 minutes which was a bit disappointing. We I asked the waitress why we were experiencing a really long wait she explained it was due to the fact they had a group of 35 people in the other private dining room. The food was very good. I ordered the antipasto tray as my app and a prosciutto/arugula pizza for my entrée both of which were very good. I did not order dessert because we brought a birthday cake with us. We were going to have the cake at home but decided to leave the mess in the restaurant. They added a cake fee to the tab for $16 dollars-if I had known there would have been a fee I might have opted for eating the cake at home. There were a couple disappointments but overall I had a nice time and I think I would visit again. read more
