Service was on point, was always getting checked on. I ordered the salmon Benedict and I'm glad I did because it was out of this world delicious. The hollandaise sauce is the best I've ever had, never had it taste so fresh and light. The eggs were runny enough to enjoy with the English muffin. Meaning, it gets pretty busy, they open at 7am & close at 3pm. So get there at a decent time so that you don't have to wait long to be seated. However, here's a tip! Regardless of whatever time you decide to go, you can reserve your spot with the @yelp app. Just go to "Le Peep" on "Yelp" & do your reservation. I've always been a fan of le peep, for a solid, consistent weekday brunch/breakfast place. The atmosphere is casual, bright, roomy, and the staff was great. Luckily there wasn't a wait when we arrived so we got seated right away. It was two of us and the menu is extensive. There's so many options to choose from, so it can be difficult to decide on something. Eventually, after much trial and tribulation lol, we ordered almond chai lattes, blueberry lemon zest pancakes, and the crab cake Benedict. It all came out pretty quickly, and perfectly. Everything was all delicious, the portions were great, and we were very full. The Tres Leches French Toast is a perfect shareable option for the table to get that morning sweetness in with the caramel drizzle and strawberries on top of soft bread. As one of the most widely known brunch places in Edison, I knew I had to try Le Peep despite the rumors of the extremely long wait times. I joined the waitlist on yelp late Sunday morning, and 1.5 hours later, I received the long-awaited text that our table of two was ready for us. After scanning the QR code to see the menu, my friend decided to get the Greek Goddess omelet with a side of bacon and I ordered the waffle benedict. The meal was affordable, and only the side of bacon seemed to be questionably priced with each strip of bacon essentially costing $1. My friend thought that her omelet and side of bacon was a bit dry and I was intrigued by the concept of the waffle replacing the classic English muffin in eggs benedict, but I felt that the waffle wasn't large enough to carry the weight of the egg and bacon. However, the egg itself was perfectly cooked and doused in delicious hollandaise sauce and the potatoes were also well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. The tomato slice and lettuce added a nice pop of color to the plate, but the fruit was unimpressive, and there could have been a wider variety provided. However, today when I went there with my mom, my sister and her two kids who I haven't seen in months for family breakfast, it was not a great experience. The food did come out very quickly and was excellent! However, we sat down at 9:30AM and at 9:57AM our server handed us our check without us asking for it or her asking if we wanted anything else. We had not even finished half of our breakfast yet. Also, she started clearing our table shortly after that (still before we finished eating) and then when we were paying, she was practically ripping the credit card machine out of my sisters hands before she even signed. I know they are busy, but we were literally sitting there for 27 minutes. I know this because we had to wait 20 minutes for the table, so I knew exactly when we got seated. My sister hadn't even had the chance to finish her coffee - she had to ask for a to go cup. I could see the manager was pushing them to do this by the way... it wasn't our server. I have lived in Edison for more than 6 years and I can not believe I had never visited this spot! I went with my sister today because we were in the mood for good food but also yummy warm drinks. We had the Omni Omelette and it was hearty and tasty! We also had the tomato mozzarella avocado toast the combination of flavors and texture was devine! The toast was thin and crunchy, the avocado and tomato were super fresh, the mozzarella and the fried egg were the perfect amount of salty, and the balsamic glaze was the perfect final touch to bring it all together. The service wasn't exceptional which is why I couldn't give them a 5. The waitress didn't really check up on us. She gave us water, no cups. Then brought us coffee and milk and no sugar. I come here often and I decided to finally make a review on it. First, always join the waitlist a few minutes before arriving. Every time I walk in , I only have to wait a few minutes or I just wait in my car. The food is always made very well, I LOVEEE the strawberry cheesecake . It is not too sweet either, so don't worry about that.The chicken pesto panini is very consistent and it's got just the right amount of everything. The salted caramel latte is always good but sometimes I barely taste the coffee. So I usually have to order an extra shot of espresso . As for the service... it's always questionable. I don't think we have ever gotten a good server. There's always a rush with the servers, they won't even tell you they are bringing the bill, they just do. They also forget to bring water every time, it's always up to us to ask for it. And we wait until after we have our coffee?? Like come on. One of my FAVORITE brunch places ever! I've been coming here with my boyfriend for about less than a year now since it's so close to Rutgers NB campus. Because I'm such a huge brunch person, my boyfriend one day discovered this cute spot on Yelp! However on our first time coming here we were completely shocked how packed this place truly is. So you KNOW it's that good LOL Since graduation, I haven't come back to this place until recently when I wanted to have brunch with my family and wanted to introduce this place to them since they had never tried it before. I was taken back by the beautiful renovations they had done, it's truly a major change! The Food: my go to when I come here is usually the Eighteen Wheeler however I wanted to try The Wanderer since my boyfriend got this the last time I came here and it was amazing! I do have to say The Wanderer is pretty good though I would recommend asking for not too much bacon since they do put a bit too much. My sister got the Eighteen Wheeler and loved it a lot. My mom also got the Wanderer and thought the same thing about the bacon being a bit too heavy but she still really enjoyed her dish. The French toast here is also BOMB and you can never go wrong with that! Before the renovations, I would have voted Le Peep with 3 stars, but the wooden decor, aesthetic lights, and neutral color tones really bring together the chill and cool ambiance. It's superior to your usual diner but not a hipster upscale type of brunch place like Hatch 44 Cafe. However, like many diners that offer numerous options, items can be a hit or miss. Anything that comes with lobster or salmon I feel is not really worth the price because it feels like they skimp on the meat, but when I feel like splurging or being healthy I go for these dishes and they taste good! What I enjoy the most from Le Peep are their egg dishes, especially the omelettes and egg benedicts. Omelettes have a great balance between being fully cooked on the outside but not fully cooked inside. Egg benedicts are runny, which compliments the crunchy texture of a crab cake or english muffin. They usually come with potatoes that are seasoned well and are plenty in number so they fill you up. Overall, the portion sizes are decent though you may not finish the toast/english muffin and potatoes that come with your entree. The waffle also is good, a balance between cruncy outside and soft inside. For coffee, I've tried their regular brew, lattes, and cappuccinos, and I've liked all of them. One day I would like to indulge on some of their unhealthy options, such as the french toast. The service is always attentive and friendly. I've only went here by myself and there has not been a wait during lunch on a weekday. Bringing a group is fine though because there is plenty of seating and tables that can accommodate bigger groups. I have seen Le Peep get really busy even during lunch on Friday's, but service seems to handle it well as I have not had to wait longer than 5 minutes. Anytime I order a smoked salmon dish, I expect them to not be cheap with the salmon. Did they think I was not going to notice? Don't get me wrong, the toast, egg whites, and avocado spread were good, but the salmon is the main ingredient in this breakfast item. The side cup of fruit was good, as it should be. This place was quite crowded on a Sunday morning, so they clearly must be doing a few things right. They use the yelp waitlist feature which is nice, so you could put your name on the list before you get to Le Peep. My friends seemed to enjoy their meals, so that's worth something. My husband's family has been going to Le Peep for generations. They started off with his grandparents going when the restaurant originally opened. Followed by his parents, who took my hubby as a newborn. Now we go often with our children and it's amazing. We've known Michele throughout the years, along with Maggie, Francesca and a few other employees who've been there FOREVER! The food is delicious, and I love how they're always creating new specials. They're definitely one of the better breakfast spots in Jersey. Lastly, the ambiance is farm house vibes. I love it because they recently made upgrades to the location that elevated the whole experience. Our drink and food orders were promptly taken once we sat down. Even with our large group, the food came out quickly and was warm. Everyone was extremely pleased with their meal of choice. The food itself was alright but the home fries were extremely dry and hard to eat, even with a glob of ketchup on it. I don't think anyone in our group attempted to even eat half their fries.
