The experience was great. It was interactive and the hosts were nice and welcoming. Came here for my partner's birthday celebration and ended up having 6 course menu instead of 5. The dinner started with a plate of salad with Italian dressing. The salad was delicious and light. The second course was seafood bisque and it was fantastic. The bisque was smooth and rich in flavour. The third course was chicken and it was partnered with maushroom and some veggies on the side. The chicken was juicy and soft. The 4th course was the steak and it was cooked medium recommended by the chef. The steak was juicy and tender. The last course was a creme brulee dessert topped with berries. At the end of our dinner, my partner and I were full to the brim of our stomach and we were served a birthday cake. Highly recommend the experience and for special occassions.

Delicious way to end the meal! Crème Brûlée

Thanks to a couple of the reviews, we ordered -- among other things the spicy rigatoni. Absolutely unbelievable flavor that really wakes up your tastebuds and says, "Delicious, aren't I?" The answer is YES!!! We ordered the truffle fries for the table, which are the best I've ever had and I love truffle fries. I ordered the Sangria Rouge simply because I love a really good one. This met and exceeded all my hopes and dreams. In fact, I would say that that describes this restaurant. It was a wonderful, wonderful experience.

We ordered a bunch of things to share and the table ended up being full pretty quickly. Rock shrimp to start, truffle fries with truffle aioli, a wagyu caesar salad, half roasted chicken, and king oyster mushrooms. Everything was good, but the rigatoni completely stole the show. Creamy, spicy, perfectly cooked pasta and one of those dishes where you keep going back for another bite even when you're already full. Drinks were solid too. The Pornstar Martini and the Hot & Bothered were both great and fit the vibe of the place. The space feels polished but still lively, especially around the bar. Definitely the kind of spot that works for a night out, drinks with friends, or a late dinner. If you go, do not skip the spicy vodka rigatoni. I would come back just for that.

They had a large seating area. Only 2 tables plus us. The food came fairly quickly. They have a sauce bar and with some fruits there. I found the menu to be pretty small. A lot of it were like filler food. Like spam, different types of balls. It was mostly just beef or seafood. The beef didn't taste as tender as other places we been to before. It actually tastes quite dry. Our server also never really came around. We had to wait till someone comes around. Another weird thing that they do is add a mandatory 12% tips onto your bill. They do tell you before hand, but it felt obligated when it's forced onto the bill. Super weird

We came around 5 pm and chose to just get shareable items before our show. Menu is burgers, salad, pasta, steak and seafood etc., most with lobster in the food description. Service is very good. When we arrived we were offered a complimentary glass of Chardonnay and during dinner we were check in on at least 3 times with once being the manager of the evening. What was ordered: Chicken sliders - 3 to an order; just okay, nothing spectacular LBB nachos - drizzled with lobster cheese sauce but no actual pieces of lobster; nacho chips seem old Lobster Mac and Cheese ($36.00) - you can taste bits of lobster in the dish but flavor wise was nothing amazing. The service made this place a 4, otherwise based on food alone? I would have ranked a 3.

All dishes were at least pretty tasty. Even the sushi was pretty good (this is not a sushi place) & the seaweed was the crispest I've had at a buffet. Roast beef was not the best cut but was tender & medium rare. At this price there's nothing to complain about. The biggest surprise was the roasted peppers which were really tender & had a great grill flavour. Potato salad with white balsamic dressing was good too with firm potatoes & a novel dressing. The fried rice was Japanese style so don't expect Chinese style. Stuffed basa had a good flavour & balance. The toppings didn't overpower the fish yet were not so weak that you only tasted the fish. Even the deep fried items (shrimp & wings) were good - not the usual buffet cheap crap. The only flaw was the desserts, eg the cream puff was a little dry. The tanghulu came out slowly but was not worth waiting for - the fruit was too big & the candy layer too soft & too thick.

I have been to the Sutton Place hotel many times since I have friends living in the condos there, but this was a first to settle in to this beautiful heritage building dining room and take in the ambiance and vibe. It's a great location being right at the corner of Blue Jays Way and King with a nice view of the streetscape through the large windows, yet set back comfortably from the action outside. The evening in January brought some fluffy lazy snow dropping out of the sky which added to the drama of the view and the added context for our meal extravaganza that was coming for us. Check out my photos for the menu items that we tried, all ordered a la carte and from the menu for January 2026 that I have also included in my review. When each dish arrives, the server describes what it is which is nice. But with a larger table, a typical noisy din on a busy Saturday evening, often diners can't hear or understand what was said. Some of us would appreciate if the servers would slow down, and make sure we heard more clearly what we were in store for with each amazing dish. Otherwise, our service was great! The asians at the table appreciated the tea served in the typical familiar glass teapots when I asked what they wanted to drink, knowing that they were not into beer or cocktails like westerners, or even the other typical non-alcoholic beverages available. That helped make them happy with hanging out for an extended time in the fine dining tradition. We did have to ask for the servers to keep the tea flowing to our table, since that is part of the idea and the shared experience that needed inclusivity. The server explained that the menu was a mediterranean sharing menu, so we felt like we were a family. The free flowing tea dove-tailed nicely with that theme. It was a bit of a learning experience for the Abrielle staff to see that hey, we needed more tea cups and more tea for everyone!! Not just the teetotallers in the group, us beer drinkers want to be included too : ) When we turned down the dessert options it was a nice VIP touch that they brought out a little bite of a matcha mousse sweet at the end which was super tasty! Fantastic and highly recommended.

The service for most part was really good. They are attentive, friendly and do give the fine dining experience. The food really gave me mixed thoughts. There are some dishes that are good but some that I really thought was average given the price point. Starting with the appetizers, I got the hamachi and it didn't have a lot of flavours to it, it was a little spicy but that was it. I had a bite of my friend's braised lamb and it was good and flavourful. For the mains, I got the sea bream and the iberico pork collar. They were both perfect cooked - the pork was tender and the fish was soft with a crispy skin. The pork sauce was a nice pairing, but the fish sauce had a very strong green pepper and olive flavour which I did not enjoy. I had the coconut cream pie and basque cheesecake to finish. The coconut cream pie is big and perfect for sharing. It is very strong coconut and creamy, it wasn't my favourite pick for dessert but I can see why it's popular. I enjoyed the basque cheesecake. It was dense and creamy as expected. Maybe I had high expectations for Alder but sadly I just don't think anything was outstanding. Dinner came to around $200 for two people, not including drinks. Portions decent for the most part. There's a cake cutting fee of $10/pp if you bring your own cake.
