"Like a kid in a candy store" is overused, but I have kids and they love candy and I have seen them in a candy store, so I can confidently attest that that is actually my experience coming in here. They carry some of my favorite clean beauty brands and makeup and scents, and I could spend hours just smelling and sampling and trying on. The last time I was in the store I was checking out when the employee asked if had I found everything I was looking for. I had a little time, so I decided to try to describe a specific scent profile that I've been trying to find for like 30 years using some vague descriptions and a metaphor or two (I know nothing about perfume). She thought about it for 2 seconds, went to the shelf and brought back my holy grail scent! It is PRECISELY correct, a magical potion and I want to bathe in it. I'm shook. read more

Let me start off by saying that my whole experience was a positive and happy one! This clean beauty store has so much variety in skincare, accessories as well as fragrances. What's funny is that what initially caught my eye was the Christmas ornaments on the beautiful tree in front of the shop . I am a Fox fan and when I had seen these cute little knitted fox ornaments I had to come inside and purchase them right away. Little did I know that I would meet such a friendly and helpful representative of Le Pink & Co. Miss Julia Brekka is such kind and friendly representative of the establishment and I couldn't have asked for better service and care. She gave great conversation as well as helpful feed back on choices I had made while looking about the stores plethora of exquisite inventory. Needless to say, I will be back! My sister and I were on our way to photograph some colorful stairs nearby when the front window caught my sisters eye. She said, "Aww, it looks so cute in there!" I grabbed her arm and took her inside. Upon walking in I noticed all skincare & beauty products were "clean beauty". I spent some time admiring the gorgeous displays while reading all the tiny labels. A floral to go mug caught my eye. I indeed purchased it. I live close by to this place and often window shop around the area. I noticed this place had a great selection of candles so I walked in one day-- no greetings, no smiles, no assistance what so ever. All 3 sales associates that day gave me and my friend a blank look and kept trying to stand near us pretending to dust shelves without speaking to us. I left because I felt uncomfortable, like I wasn't welcomed. Today, I needed to buy some new foundation and some candles as presents, decided to give this place another chance cause I got lunch down the street. I got the same exact vibe. Blank stares and no welcomes. One sales associate just looked at me so I said "Hi!" and she just kept walking while mumbling "hi" under her breath. Okay? I saw a couple candles I was interested in but was looking for a specific scent my friend told me about. I said "Excuse me" to one of the sales associates and she said "hmm?" without even looking at me or turning towards me. She just kept adjusting perfume bottles and not even looking. I asked her about the scent and she said that's all they had but they are sold out of one specific scent. I asked her if it was the one I was looking for, stating the name. All she said was "I don't know". Didn't bother looking or even putting in any effort. I ended up just leaving. Literally what is wrong with you guys??? I've worked customer service almost my whole life so I get it...But literally what was I doing to cause this kind of reaction? Maybe racism cause you guys seem super happy to help others. Great selection but please don't support this business. I've never felt so judged and like a nuisance in my life while just trying to shop. There is another super cute store down the street and across from this one that sells similar care products and candles-- right next to Alfred's Coffee. Go there instead. Wonderful customer service! Unfortunately, I forgot my salesperson's name but she was super helpful! I called beforehand to see if they stocked Voluspa candles since I was on the hunt for a gift for a client. Thankfully, they had exactly what I needed in stock, and then some! The store is super cute with an eclectic inventory of candles, fragrance, makeup, lotions, and jewelry. This store is definitely an underrated gem in the neighborhood, and I love supporting local small business versus large department stores. Parking was hard to find on the street so I parked half a block down by the neighborhood. Check this cute store out and support! I'll be back for sure when I'm in need for more cute gifts. Each time I've visited this shop, I have never been acknowledged or greeted by a sales person (all whom have been white women). Appears they cater to a very 'specific' demographic, so I won't be recommending this business, since clearly they don't want mine. Sad to see similar experiences with diverse clients not being greeted and welcomed to shop because that was my experience. I ate at All Day Baby and was really excited to check out the surrounding shops. The blonde woman who works here is very kind and lively, super helpful. She was able to recommend me a really nice scent based on some perfumes I like. It's more of an indie style shop, so you will find more obscure and unique fragrances that you wouldn't find at a department store. The intimacy of the setting truly enhances the buying experience but is not pushy at all and I felt comfortable just browsing until I was ready to get assistance. Decided to support a small business rather than Sephora, and buy a skin tint from here. The shade was too dark when I put in on in the daylight. Unfortunately when I asked if it could be exchanged they responded not if the product was opened. No one explained the return policy at the time of the sale which would have been helpful. The woman on the phone was also extremely rude and hung up on me. I had read bad reviews on here before but decided to give it a try anyways as it is in my neighborhood but I definitely won't give this place my business again and you shouldnt either. Go to Sephora. I had my dog with me and he is still a puppy and very rambunctious so I called to see if I could pick something up and pay ahead, instead of bringing him in the store with me. I was lured by the word "apothecary" from across the street but when I entered I was a bit disappointed by the offering. Yes they seem to carry a lot of different brands, but it was a mish mash of a bunch of stuff but not adding up to a lot. A lot of the brands are available from other stores -- I've seen most of the brands available from unique shops in Santa Monica and Pasadena -- so it's not like the stuff is just exclusive to Le Pink & Co. Secondly, the ventilation was really bad on the day I went in and the combination of the smells and the lack of ventilation started to make my head spin. I wasn't looking for help and neither was my friend. We were both browsing, but a few staff members were in the back room, one came through the front but didn't say a word to us, not even to acknowledge our existence, nor to let us know that she was there to help us if we needed it. I thought that was rude, but like I said, we weren't looking for assistance so I guess she felt she was letting us browse in peace. In any case, as soon as I saw that most of the items were available elsewhere I lost interest. Adorable teeny, tiny shop crammed with enough goodies to keep me busy smellin' scents, sprtizin' perfumes, burnin' candles and poring over makeup for a good long while. My best friend and I were walking down the street after searching for some cute clothing shops around Silver Lake to get lost in and feeling unsuccessful, depleted and rundown. Who the hell escapes for a weekend in LA and doesn't even find a cute dress to spend too much money on? Us, that's who. Anyway, my head was hanging so low that it's a miracle I found this place at all. But even in my rejected-by-the-fashion-gods state I had enough sense to realize this place was for me. If you know nothing else about me, I want you to know this: My name's Gabrielle, and when I walk in a room and leave, it better smell even better than when I walked in. Unless one of my girl's is already there. Because I only rock with gyals that smell good. Having this much of a scent specificity problem (as in, I can't handle gross ones and welcome good and gracious ones with open arms--which really isn't a "problem" at all) means I can spot the clue for where to get my next fix pretty easily and Le Pink fit the mold: painted pink walls, uncluttered, perfect rows of products arranged in colorful ways, endless rows of candles lining the shelves, you get the idea. I don't think we had been in there 10 minutes before I found my latest obsession: Tocca Cleopatra. My better half was trying on sunglasses and while I had every intention of making a beeline for the jewelry stands beckoning near the register, I got interrupted by another candle section and got pretty easily overwhelmed. I probably could've stood within those rows of perfumes, oils, candles, makeup potions and powders for hours but we both had a lunch to get to. M'lady copped some gorgeous sunnies and yours truly walked out about a thousand whiffs more gorg' thanks to my new bottle of Cleopatra. At the end of our weekend LA jaunt, we realized we're probably getting a little older if the only thing we really bought (after texting endlessly beforehand about how we were going to break the bank SO bad) was stuff in the smellgood category and air plants. Appropriately, located next door to Cafe Fiore, Le Pink & Company (formerly Apothecary) has top-notch clean and green beauty products without all those harmful chemicals. Not only are they green and good for your body, but they are dreamy! If you know me, I'm not one for clogging up my skin with gobs of makeup. I prefer "natural beauty". This is just the place for that. But those who like really dolling themselves up, don't worry, they have stuff for you, too. I love that so many of the products I love are here. I no longer have to go on a wild goose hunt hitting up various boutiques in our uber gentrified neighborhoods to find what I'm looking for, because it's all here! (I know there's the online route, but I really am trying to reduce my carbon footprint). ;) Sidenote, Le Pink has been here since 2003, so not a newbie on this block. My go to brands are Herbivore, Eminence, RMS Beauty, and French Girl. Lucky for me, they have them here. These are products that I really enjoy using, making me feel like I'm at the spa. :) Besides the brands I mentioned above, they have others such as Tokyo Milk, Weleda, Acure Organics, Thymes, Smith and Cult (LOVE their lip glosses!), Dr. Hauschka, and more. It's really hard not to leave this place buy something, even for someone trying to live a zero-waste style (ahem, me)! Like I said, I love their products. However, some of the sales representatives seem a bit on the cool side. Not that they need to be all up my business, but I would appreciate some appreciation for my perusing your products and making some purchases. Heck, I'm from the neighborhood, so be a neighbor! I always love small local boutiques & finding out about products that you wouldn't see in larger stores. The store looked super cute and caught my attention to see what i could find. I loved a jewelry piece & asked if there was a bigger size and the lady working response was short & in no way had a care to help. The lady working was absolutely rude and at no point welcomed us - no one else was even in the store! We felt uncomfortable and would rather give business somewhere else! This place has cool products since the last time I was here. Lots of good energy from the crystal inventory! I do know what people are saying but this last visit, it was different from previous visits. The salesperson was super kind, friendly and answered my questions. I did not know I have not reviewed this spot, but I'm so glad I waited until now to review. There are nice boutique face products, but they have also added in stock of lots of beautiful crystals. AVOID AVOID AVOID!! I shop here all the time for candles and gifts because it is right by my apartment, but I will NO longer be giving this company any of my business. I bought a purse as a gift today only to get home and see that it has a cancer warning on it, which I know can be common with faux leather, but I felt I should probably not give someone a gift that has a cancer warning. I went right back down to return it less than twenty minutes after I purchased it, and THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO DO STORE CREDIT! I was like, "I was JUST here fifteen minutes ago!" Crazy!! Please don't give this place your money! I beg of you. I got caught in the rain after shopping here, and my paper bag from Le Pink and the label on my VERY EXPENSIVE Voluspa candle were ruined. So were the boxes to all the cosmetics I bought, but who cares. The candle was a gift and when I brought it back in and asked to exchange it, the gal was a total bitch about it, looked at me like I was booger stuck to her cuff and asked what interest it would serve to put the ruined one back on the shelf in exchange? I said it would serve valuably for customer service, considering I was just in there and spent a shit-ton on make-up. She was like, yeah, well, our policy is to offer store credit for undamaged merchandise. I told her that maybe they should consider getting plastic bags. She told me yeah, sure, okay. Sure, this is a cute little boutique with original shabby chic decor and plenty of gorgeous bath, body and home scented products. I've been there a handful of times, and somehow, I'm hard pushed to find products that I really must buy. Everything is lovely, but they seem a little overpriced for what they are, and none of the scents are really to die for in my humble opinion. The two big strikes against this place for me are the lack of parking (which isn't a big deal during the week, but on a Saturday, forget it) and the spotty service. Twice I've gone and been helped by a really sweet lady who gave me good information on the products and was pretty friendly... And twice now I've come across someone there with a slightly snotty attitude who was, well, less than helpful. My girlfriend treated me to a facial here and I had no idea what to expect, but had a feeling I would be uncomfortable though most of it. Turns out, it was amazing. Tessa did my face and she was great. As a guy I wasn't sure what I would need a facial for but it was really nice to be pampered and have someone really clean out all the gunk from my pores. It felt so refreshing when she steamed my face too. She massaged hands and feet and shoulders and gave solid advice about how I could better take care of my skin. It's like a big girls candy store! I love it more than Sephora because they carry some random and obscure items that aren't as big as some of the Sephora brands. They carry Komenuka Bijin, which is a rarity to find unless you buy it online. That alone impressed me that they actually knew what that product was. The girls that work here will happily give you a sample if you'd like to try something before investing the money. The owner is a total sweetheart too. I was shopping with my sister & my mom while hanging out in LA, and my sister suggested (evilly, I might add) that we stop into this little store she frequents. Now, she knows I own drawers full of makeup, yet only wear mascara & eyeliner on a daily basis. She knows that I always wear the same fragrance, yet own shelves of perfumes, lotions & body powders. She also knows that I only occasionally polish my nails, yet own a giant box of polishes & usually go the salon, anyway, when I DO get my nails done. Yet, she brings us in HERE. The ultimate COOL product store, sprinkled with vintage objects and lots of feminine touches. The carry Butter London, which makes a formaldehyde-free nail polish, and they have many colors! Online I can get three or four colors. Yes, I bought four more while I was here. Also, they have tons of cool make up like glittery eyeliner (when am I going to use that??) which I bought one of, and also tons of creamy body soaps, lotions and perfumes. They also carry men's products, as well. I bought a couple things for my husband. He loves "Product", which the sales woman suggested that I get for him. He styles his hair, and this stuff makes his hair feel like he DOESN'T put product in it. He's added this to his basic requirements, like hand lotion and deodorant. Just don't go in without a purpose, like me, or you'll end up spending way too much money than you intended! Especially if you're a product whore like me. I'm not actually joking, and have had a few people close to me attempt to intervene, but I like a) to have good skin and thus be carded when, well, I really shouldn't be (I am getting to the point where the bouncers drop my ID in shock, which is both a compliment and an insult rolled into one nifty little package- no wonder I drink) b) to smell nice c) to feel girlie and pampered. i loved this place when it was on Echo Park Avenue because it was minutes away and how wonderful to be able to get Dr. Hauschka products in Echo Park. Now that it's near Sunset Junction - well yes, the parking is awful, but that is not their fault. Tons of interesting fragrances and makeup here plus the aforementioned Dr. Hauschka, which is a great and natural line. They do also carry the full MOR line here, which, in my opinion, is just not the best quality for the price, although the packaging is stone gorgeous. Most of the products are more the one-off frippery type- nothing wrong with that- I only dock a star because I find the skin care offerings a touch lacking, and because the staff can be snippy. Bottom line- fun to stop into- not the place to outfit your at-home spa. read more

Three words: Kai. Facial. Fantastic. Lately I switched to Eminence skincare products, so when it was time for a facial, I wanted one at which Eminence products would be used. The facial at Le Pink was by far the most beneficial, effective, and *relaxing* one I have ever had. (Actually, prior to this one, I had never had a facial that could be called relaxing.) Le Pink's aesthetician, Kai, is incredible. I loved that there was no upselling during the facial, and there was no pushing while I was shown the products that were used. That meant that I was able to decompress during the facial, remember what I liked, and figure out what I want to buy in the future. The price of the service is beyond reasonable, between the products and Kai's talent. A week after the facial, my skin still looks super. Go! read more

This is such a beautiful shop. I walked in not knowing what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only is there a vast array of perfumes and beauty products, there is a wall dedicated to candles. We love candles and these candles smelled amazing and the prices were decent for soy based candles with essential oils. This little shop is a girl's best friend where we can get quality products that will preserve our beauty without harsh chemicals, but allow us to express ourselves without having to use makeup that will damage our skin or make us look plastic. This shop does offer skin care services such as facials and waxing. I am definitely interested in the facial side the use quality organic ingredients an the price is actually affordable. And here I thought my little diamond-in-the-rough was a local secret. *le sigh* Conveniently located within walking distance of me, Le Pink is the kind of body wash/perfume/soap/apothecary place I wanted to open back when I was much younger and dreamed of a life in alluring fragrances and indulgences. (Calgon take me away!!!) When ever I need to feel really girly or get my "petite French ingenue" on, I come here to stock up on all the necessities to transform my body and mind. Something about the "Twilight Zone" like nature of displays from different eras really makes me feel like I am going to a place that makes me feel like a timeless beauty. And while some of the brands they offer are a little more eclectic and harder to find, the prices are not ridiculous. *Fair warning, it's not cheap, but if you want to pamper yourself properly, this is the place to do it (especially if you are in Silver Lake and no longer have friends who work at spas). Last but not least the staff was very good at helping me out. Each time I shop here I feel like I am getting a tour of a foreign country (led by a good hearted local who doesn't want me to miss the good things). I felt a genuine sense of wanting me to be happy with my purchase, and no attempts to "up-sell" me on stuff I didn't need. And sharp... able to answer different questions from multiple customers (who kept interrupting) and being able to return to that last essential train of thought with me.
