left to right: my 1st visit (Dec 2014), my 2nd visit (Aug 2015), now (Dec. 2015)

So previously I gave Ann a 5 star rating. Today after talking to a close friend who is a hair stylist also in West Seattle and my best friend who gets her hair colored and cut as well...I found out that I was ripped off on my last hair appointment with Ann. My very first visit I paid $115 on the 1st day, which was a 3 hour visit, I had to come back the next day to go lighter since its been years since I've colored my hair. The 2nd visit was $117. Total I paid $232 for going black to a lighter ombre color + a hair cut ($22 for a women's haircut). Not bad especially since it was a 2 day process. I came back 8 months later to get a touch up, hoping to go lighter and a haircut. It was a 3 hour visit just like my very 1st appointment. It didn't come out how I wanted it and I was advised to do another session, that day (not realizing how much I paid on my initial visit) I paid $223. Now lets compare.... $232 for my 1st visit going from black to a lighter ombre + haircut & $223 for my 2nd visit for a touch up and a haircut. It doesn't make sense that my 2nd visit was about the same price as my 1st visit... when my 1st visit took a lot more hours and work and my 2nd took a lot less, how are they about the same price. Again, I didn't realize it until today looking back on my bank statement. I feel ripped off especially since my hair is brassy (which I wanted to go for a lighter brown/dirty blonde) and damaged. I had spent $$$$ on hair products just to make it look somewhat decent. I called Ann today to ask maybe I paid to have 2 sessions, she confirm that I didn't. When I asked her why my 2nd visit was what I believe more expensive, she explained that because I wanted to go lighter and she used a lot of products, it cost more...well my hair isn't lighter and she definitely used more product the 1st time around yet that was cheaper. Now I am in search of a new hairstylist...

Worst hair color experience with Olivia…read more I had a very disappointing experience with Olivia. I was very clear before starting that the last time her twin colored my hair, I liked the shade and wanted it lighter or the same -- absolutely not darker. At the salon, when my hair was washed, I asked her if it looked dark. She said it was totally fine. I assumed the salon lighting or my eyesight might be misleading me. I didn't even ask for a blow-dry -- just a simple curl product -- but she spent less than a minute on it, which felt careless. Another red flag was that I asked her to color my eyebrows, yet at the end I noticed multiple color stains left on my face. She didn't mention them; I had to point them out myself and remove them. At the time, these issues were frustrating but manageable. The real problem became clear after I got home and washed my hair several times. My hair color is much darker than requested, and it's obvious the color was ruined. Looking back, I now believe she noticed the darkening issue but didn't acknowledge it. Fixing hair that's been colored too dark is not easy, and now I'm left dealing with the consequences of her mistake. Overall, this was a careless and unprofessional experience, and I would not recommend her for hair coloring.

Been here twice now. Over a year ago a woman cut my hair that no longer works here. I like that…read morethey have you ring a bell and then they buzz you in for safety. Beverages are offered and they use great products. However my second visit was just a few days ago with Sarah. What I asked for I got the complete opposite. She gave me a blow out so my hair looked beautiful leaving but the next day washing it seeing my natural waves and curls and really inspecting the cut. I look a bit chopped. The front was not face framing instead she gave me 4 steps. The front is uneven and choppy as heck. My hair is gone so no way to fix that and wouldn't trust her to fix it tbh so I have to take an expensive loss. I cried all night yesterday just looking at the front pieces. Just embarrassing. I paid a lot and tipped very well just for it to look like an amateur cut my hair. Don't come here. I regret coming here as I looked better with my dead ends. I could've cut my own hair better which I have. This was supposed to be a pick me up to make me feel beautiful now 2 days later I am in regret not feeling like how I should and wanted. Sooooo expensive and terrible results. Also they could've been friendlier. I felt she got tired blow drying my hair. They are supposed to be knowledgeable in long, thick hair, curly hair, wavy hair. I wanted to choose this stylist due to her good reviews but I really cannot recommend her or this salon. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I am distraught. Don't come here as you will cry tears of sadness not joy.

Also, the color is a-symmetrical, one side has more blonde, and the other, more red. Turned out so cool! The cut - usually, I think my hair looks better worn up, but since Amy has been cutting it, I love wearing it down. Finally, she is so friendly and a joy to chat with. Amy has been doing my hair for awhile, but she just started at Kitty Hawk. What a cool space, easy to find, easy free parking and the shop is really cute and clean! Get your buns in Amy's chair! :)
