    Kumamoto oysters
    Molly B.

Every year I come here to take myself out for my birthday and I swear it keeps getting better year over year somehow. The escargot isn't served in the traditional dish but in a cast iron that retains the heat and is beautifully flavored and paired with soft sourdough. The Kumamoto oysters were delicious but should've been shucked better as 4 of the 6 were still attached to the shell. The triple berry sorbet was 3 scoops of well balanced decadence without being too sweet. The Chablis was a perfect pairing for both but I don't recall seeing their Blanc de Blanc sparkling that would've been even better with the oysters. The host and my outdoor server on May 21st lunchtime were fantastic and very happy with the timing of the server.

Our 3rd consecutive Christmas Day lunch here. Always consistent, always wonderful, always enjoyable. Consider yourself fortunate if Maria Takes care of you. Excellent cocktails & Cremant. Ate outdoors. Fantastic because management always touches the tables to see if everything is going well My favorite: warm shrimp salad with avocado. Fiance had steak with frites. Stephen Starr - we just love his restaurants!

A great spot for a date night or dinner with friends. The ambiance is upscale french, chic, and classy. We went for appetizers & drinks and had the fried calamari 10/10, cooked perfectly, the crab & avocado salad was super fresh and delicious. The bartender made me a delicious cocktail with tequila ( no idea what it was) since I wasn't really feeling the drink menu. service was great and the best part was the dessert. The BEST crème brûlée I've ever had in Miami! Chefs kiss

Decent place to stop in for a glass of bubbles. Didn't try the food. It took a while to get a table even though it was dead (pre dinner). It's right next to valet at least for convenience

This is a amazing French restaurant located at the Bal Harbor shops. Their food was excellent. The waitress was outgoing and friendly, and the restaurant was warm and inviting. They were playing music in the background and it's a wonderful way to end the day after a full day of shopping.

Chic Stephen Starr Bal Harbor French. Miami Spice menu was a deal! Hits and misses starting with bread which was sadly disappointing. Ate: Salmon tartare with crudite Salmon & tabouleh Pot au chocolates Sparkling wine Total $51 before tip The tartare was perfection with crisp fresh crudite. Salmon main was meh with no sauce. Pot au Creme dark good chocolate was divine. Bread was a real letdown and main course also uninspired but the tartare which was crudo like was delish. Server was excellent!

The food and ambiance was amazing. Went for brunch and it was also Bastille Day so inside and outside was decorated in red, blue and white. The restaurant was already very busy at noon but service was still fast and efficient. Food was served hot and fresh. Overall a 10 out of 10 experience. I will be back!

What stands out at Le zoo is their phenomenal customer service. The staff is absolutely fantastic when it comes to the attention to detail and making sure that you have. The upmost optimal experience while you're there. Now to the food, on this day I had the steak frittes and it was to die for. I honestly can't wait to go back and have it once again.

Came here for lunch on a weekday and made reservations just in case. Glad I did because this place actually filled up on both the inside tables as well as the patio outdoor tables. The ambience is absolutely cute and really trying to draw upon the old French style. Traditional bistro. But in a very light modern way as well. The menu is incredible and we did come during Miami spice, which also gives you some options but we ordered from the traditional standard menu. I have to say that, considering the prices because this restaurant is at the harbor shops that the portions were also very generous. Everything was so tasty and fresh and hot and came out in impeccable timing. Our waitress I forgot her name, but she was so incredibly patient and very kind and helpful in making recommendations as well. The menu is full of classical French bistro items, such as escargot, pate, steak, muscles, etc. We also each enjoyed a glass of champagne and rosé with our meal. I would definitely come back and eat here again if I am at Bahl Harbor shops, keeping in mind, there are a lot of other restaurant choices as well. But this place is very calm relaxing allows you to enjoy your meal at no rush, and all the other patrons are very well put together and dignified. There is definitely no shouting and no children crying or children to be seen .

    French onion soup

Fancy place, and the servers were nice. My wife and I went for Miami Spice and tried different things. The escargot were already out of their shells and in a sauce with mushrooms. The onion soup had a lot of cheese which I appreciated. Both appetizers were decent. For entrees we had the chicken paillard, and the tagliolini. The chicken dish had crushed green olives and nuts, which had an interesting flavor, but not my thing. The pasta on the other hand was phenomenal - was creamy with a truffle taste. What really shined were the desserts though. We had the creme brulee and profiteroles - Absolute must try!

    Grilled branzino - delicious!

Wow, this is one of the best French restaurants I've been to in a long time. The food here is amazingly fresh and prepared with the utmost care. Let's start with the mussels - delicious, great broth. The French onion soup, I'm going to have to come back here just to eat that - heavenly. My grilled branzino was perfect!! Skin crispy and the fish tender. And loved the little lettuce pieces with a sliver of roasted pepper that came with it. My friend liked her chicken entree. Profiteroles for dessert we're amazing. My one complaint is that my coffee was not hot at all, it was barely room temperature. Service was friendly and good. When our waiter had an accident and spilled our drinks before he got to our table, he promptly got us new ones. Nice outdoor patio, wish the seats had seat cushions, as that would have provided more comfort and would have been better than having the wicker sticking to your legs on a hot humid day. Our server did disappear at the end of our lunch, maybe he went on break, so we had to flag down someone else for our check.

    East coast oysters
    Ariel U.

We popped in for some snacks while we were shopping. Unfortunately all their tables were booked for the day. The hostess didn't recommend the bar, but when we stepped inside there were miraculously two seats oprn at the bar! We lucked out. The staff was busy. We ordered some drinks and started with a dozen east coast oysters, escargot and the french onion soup. After looking at the menu my husband decided to order beef tartare as well. It took 4 times clarifying with the staff that he wanted tarta, not carpaccio. The oysters came and they were beautiful. They tasted clean and refreshing. When asking where they were from the food runner said she would look into it. Our server said Washington and the food runner came back and said Massachusetts. Interesting. The french onion soup was everything I had hoped for. Then the tartare came and we reminded our server we had ordered escargot as well (she forgot). My husband appeared to enjoy these items a lot, I usually enjoy escargot with more of a garlicy kick. The food was wonderful, the service just seemed a bit off. We did however enjoy ourselves and the atmosphere and food were delightful.

To enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance of the most upscale mall in south Florida, have a seat at Le Zoo. A restaurant where most of their seating is smack in the middle of Bal Harbor mall where you're sure to catch a glimpse of celebs and enjoy the people watching and beauty of the mall. The food was delish. We both started had an old fashion, probably the best tasting one we've had in awhile. Perfectly smooth, very well done. We also tried escargot, scallops and calamari, presented just how the French would. Simple, robust flavors elegantly presented. We ended with crème brûlée and dark chocolate pot de crème. The brûlée was preferred however still enjoyed them both. It's quite an experience here. If you want to sit amongst the middle of everything swanky Miami has to offer, Le Zoo is the place to be.

We ordered a bunch of smaller dishes to share and were quite full at the end! Soupe à l'Oignon Gratinée: Really great broth with chunks of caramelized onions. The cheese was plentiful and gooey. The bread wasn't toasted though and a bit thick, so that could have been improved. Escargots: A classic. Loaded with butter, garlic and herbs. Lots of bread offered on the side to soak up that goodness and enjoy a snail on top. Le Tartare de Bœuf: A huge portion! Though I prefer my tartare a little less minced and more like finely chopped. Good flavor though. The greens in the salad were a nice palate cleanser between bites. Gnocchi À La Juju: Shockingly better than Italian gnocchi. Each little gnocchi was nicely seared for a brown and somewhat firm exterior, with a good chewy pillow inside. The sauce was outstanding. Managing a party of 12 is no easy task, yet everything flowed seamlessly. He was attentive, personable, and made sure our celebration felt special from start to finish. With a group our size, we took full advantage of the menu. We shared oysters, escargot, crispy artichokes, leeks, beet salad, French onion soup, tuna carpaccio, steak tartare, and a beautifully curated cheese platter. Every appetizer arrived impeccably presented and packed with flavor. It was one of those rare meals where every dish earned compliments around the table. In fact,…read moreas I've given other places 5 stars already, I feel that this place should be given a 6, to show that it's really better than the other ones. Definitely a gem. The restaurant is hidden inside the Cadet Hotel, and hidden is the word because even when you are in the lobby you won't know where the restaurant is. It's up a small, unmarked flight of stairs. The restaurant itself is small, with about 10 tables and half of them two-person, so probably can fit no more than 30 people. However, this little gem has plenty of charm, cozy and not stuffy at all. Feels like you are in a little restaurant in Paris. For Miami Spice, appetizer choices include truffle celery risotto, duck confit and foie gras. Main dishes we had the cod fillet, lamb chop and duck l'orange. Dessert is floating island, a Pavlova with a creamy sauce and berries. I won't go into detail, as I probably will just be repeating the words "delicious" "flavorful" "delish" "heavenly" "excellent" over and over. Suffice to say the meat is succulent and cooked just right, I relish every bite, and it's good to the last bite - something which actually is quite a feat, as sometimes dishes that are delicious at first bite can get salty or boring as you eat on. Patrick the sommelier gave us a good recommendation. As we ordered different dishes, it's hard to pick just one bottle, but the barolo he selected manages to go well with most and amplifies the flavors of the risotto, the duck and the lamb really well. The regular menu lists most entrees around $35, and the well selected wine list has many good but lesser known wines for $50 to a few hundreds. First, this is a restaurant where you come for the amazing service, quality food, and something different type of food. This is not your typical everyday restaurant and it is more on the high end side. The restaurant is inside a hotel and parking can be limited, but you can walk a little to the parking garage or pay the parking up close. Service: let me start with one of the best things about this restaurant. The waiter comes and gets you as soon as you come into the hotel/restaurant entrance. They will be on top of you if you want or need everything. There was a guy there that suggested us a great red wine selection and we of course got the bottle. We did not have to wait much at all for anything. They were constantly coming to check up on the food, if anymore wine was needed, or anything else.. Food: the food was definitely high quality food. You come here not for the portions, but for the different options they offer. You come here for the top of the notch ingredients. The taste of the food was delicious, not overpowering, and all the ingredients went well together. My husband got the PAN SAUTEED FOIE GRAS for first course, SHORT RIBS MARINATED IN BURGUNDY WINE AND SLOWLY COOKED for second course, and of course the FLOATING ISLAND Poached Whipped White Egg, Crème Anglaise, Fresh Berries for desert. It was all perfectly cooked and delicious, the short ribs we soft and the flavor was just on point. I got WILD MUSHROOM RISOTTO for the first course, DUO OF BRANZINO AND SEA SCALLOP Vegetable and lemongrass sauce .. Branzino  Butter Dulce Flakes Sauce ..Scallop for the second course, and the same desert as my husband for the third course. I really just enjoyed it all, the flavors of the sauce along with the vegetables not being overcooked or under cooked. The chef in the back just played it all so well together. The ambient of this restaurant is small and cozy. This is a place for date night, or talking to an old friend you haven't seen. This place is small, so reservation is a must. It is a restuarant where you can actually hear the person in front of you without having to scream over other people or the music. It is a great place because once you are done eating you can walk Lincoln road or go walk the beach if you'd like. I would not kind coming back here again for another date night. Service was great, food was delicious, and I enjoyed the cozy quality restaurant it really is.
