Invoice from the leak doctor saying they couldn't find an active leak
    Russel H.

Would give zero stars if I could. My water bill went from 1k to 11k gallons of usage, so it was obvious that there was a leak on the property. I called the Leak Doctor and they came on November 20th, 2024. Their inspector did an inspection and said they could not find an active leak on the property. They charged me $350.00 The next day, I called another company. They came over that same day and was able to find the leak and repair it. Highway robbery by Leak Doctor. Pics attached of the invoice description from Leak Doctor, and pics of the leak found and repaired by the other company.

Leak Doctor helped us big time and they were professional, courteous, and helpful throughout. They helped us find an old leak that'd been ongoing for so many years, we were accustomed to paying it. Water bill should drop by more than half!! Thanks Leak Doctor!!! AAA+++

Leak in wall not in the floor where you told us to bust the concrete.

I have used this company several times and even recommended them. This time they said the leak was in the concrete slab and marked it with a x. The plumber brought in a jack hammer to do the job but the leak was not in the floor. It turned out the leak was in the wall. I sent a photo to the company and asked for a refund if $100 as this was the cost associated with the miss. I had paid them 350. The manager called me back and said that they only need to be within 18 inches. This was never told to me on any of the other jobs. They said no refund. Big difference between under a slab and in a wall. This is not good customer service considering I have used you 4 previous times. Be fair with your customers.

We had several quotes all of which were very expensive and traditional (tearing out a brand new bathroom). Modern Plumbing came in with a creative idea and went through our laundry room to access the plumbing in the master and fixed it. They saved time and money. I cannot say enough about James and the team at Modern Plumbing. They will be our Plumbers from now on excellent excellent company!

I had observed none recently. On further investigation, I did have a serious wastewater backup. I suspected that it was due to Comcast installing fiber optics in the neighborhood, drilling in the area of water/sewer pipes. So, the rest of the afternoon, Hunter worked with a camera and an auger to locate the blockage. He located it, but it was the lateral under my neighbor's driveway, which needed to be resolved by the utility company. Hunter asked me to let him know the outcome. It turned out to be a big deal. Indeed, the clay pipe was broken by Comcast's subcontractor drilling to install fiber duct. So, I knew there would be finger-pointing the like. I got it resolved, after a call to the PSC and a lot of back-and-forth. Sunshine Water sucked out the sewer and repaired the cracked pipe. I texted Hunter when the repair was complete, sending him photos of the cracked Clay pipe. I had shared his report with Sunshine Water, which gave them confidence in locating the break. This was very helpful because they couldn't get a camera in there due to the pipe being full of *(**&*&*. After I texted Hunter, he called me to ask how it went. I gave him the lowdown. In my long experience with home repair contractors and service companies, I have rarely encountered employees like Hunter. He left a job with loose ends beyond his control, but he cared enough about the job to want to know how it was resolved. Please thank him for me. And if I need plumbing services in the future, Modern Plumbing Industries is who I'll be dealing with. They're straight shooters, they communicate, they show up, and they have employees who give a damn. Thanks for staying family-owned!

On installation day the office called to confirm I was ready to support. Installers Wayne and Zack arrived on time, worked efficiently and carefully to avoid damage and keep work area clean. Removal of old unit was unusually difficult, requiring some disassembly of cabinetry which was done carefully and reassembled afterward. Wayne and Zack cleaned all areas affected and new unit solves the problem. This is my second experience with Harvey baker Plumbing and I expect to call on them for a much larger future job (decommissioning septic tank/field and connection to city sewer). Harvey, office staff and installers were all honest, friendly and professional. Highly recommend!

I have used Harvey Baker Plumbing for almost 20 years and have usually been very satisfied with the…read moreservice. This time was no exception given the technician, Juan, was amazing. He properly took care of an outside faucet issue that was "repaired" previously 24 months before. I noticed my outside faucet was slightly spraying water from the "repair part" recommended two years prior. In April 2024, I called Harvey Baker Plumbing to fix this faucet as it was leaking from the knob at the time. A young gentleman came and said he did not have the part on his vehicle to replace it (something to do with the pipe size), but he could "repair" it. However, I would not be able to turn the water on and off from the faucet knob. He said the nozzle at the end of the hose would serve as the on/off mechanism. When I discovered the current leak, I called and the receptionist said she could get someone out between 12-2 the next day. I explained the previous situation above and said I definitely want the faucet "replaced" this time. She looked up my previous invoice and said she would note on the ticket the faucet should be replaced rather than repaired. Next day, she called again and said she could have the technician come out earlier if I was available. I said I was and Juan came 15 minutes later, a little after 10am. He was a joy to work with, smiling and providing great conversation and expertise! I explained everything and he said he had the necessary part to rectify the leak. He did a great job. When I got the invoice, I noticed the parts only cost $33 compared to the "repair" part of $10. I was surprised the previous gentleman couldn't drive 4 miles to the office to get the necessary part and recommended the "repair" instead. I estimated I could have saved approximately $200 of labor charges had the work been properly completed the first time. I would have requested the previous technician get the necessary part had I known the difference in part costs was minimal. At least the "repair" lasted 2 years. I will probably continue to use Harvey Baker Plumbing in the future, but I'll make sure I request a more seasoned technician like Juan next time. Final note - Harvey Baker Plumbing now charges a 3% credit card fee on the invoice, which was not their practice previously. It was not a big deal to me ($7.75), and I understand a family business would prefer cash or a check. If I have a major plumbing issue in the future, at least now I am aware of the added fee.

I called at 2 in the afternoon. I will spare you the gory details , but 10 days and $14,000 later, the had torn up my dry wall in 2 room, cabinets and baseboards, ruined my countertops which all now need to be replaced and-NEVER CLEANED KITCHEN CLEANOUT, NOR LOOKED FOR LEAK! I hired a plumber after they left, who found the leak in 10 minutes, and had it repaired to minutes after that. Best part? Adjuster came, saw the small-still existing leak, and all the damage done by Roto-Rooter, denied the claim. They claimed I needed water remediation, mold remediation, Lead testing, asbestos testing, and although no lead or asbestos was found, charged for remediation of those, too. The mold found was tiny, they apparently have connections with the testing companies, they double charged for some things. They charged extra for nights and weekends, although there was no emergency. They saw me coming, I guess, and I trusted this known name. They business is model is deceptive, there charges were fraudulent, and although I probably could have won a lawsuit (on the billables alone, there are alit of shady, if not illegal things. But they wore me out. I paid it. But YOU DON'T HAVE TO. DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANY REASON. (I very rarely leave bad reviews. But they were so egregiously bad that I wanted to warn as many people as possible. i would like to amend this review to make it worse, because not only did they do all of this, but today I just found out that despite paying them in full, which I only did, because my mental health was suffering, they still filed a lien against my property. A full five days after I paid in full. In the comments below is pretty funny that they couldn't find me in their records since I have about twenty letters from them. But I will be contacting her in person. Of course. When you do try to call them, they don't ever answer.Unless you owe them money it will be interesting to see if this woman ever gets back to me.
