After subpar service from another leak detector (who left without fixing all the leaks), I had to find another reputable company in the area. Leak Technologies came near the top of yelp search so I gave them a call. The quoted price and assurance of warranty were reasonable. They also did not up-charge for coming out to the Temecula area (a huge plus). The only negative was the long wait time to get an appointment. With that said it was also an indication of a business in demand. Kevin came out, exactly on time, and found the issue fairly quickly. It was a crack in the light on the bottom of the spa. Unfortunately, he was not able to take the light off because it was literally stuck to pebble. And since the pool was recently remodeled, it was more prudent to call that crew to get the light off in case there were other issues around it. But, Kevin promised to come back and fix the leak once the light is off. After another few weeks of waiting, Kevin did come back and patched the leak. All for a reasonable price. He explained in detail what was done, the possible limitations of the fix the guarantee of the fix within a reasonable time horizon. Our pool is old so I expect it will leak again at some point. Kevin visited last week for an inspection. He was here for a few hours and was thorough. I had a previous inspection done several years ago by another person that only stayed about an hour and did not do a very good job at the inspection or the subsequent repair of the skimmer or light. Kevin actually got in the water and used his tricks of the trade to test the light, the skimmer and the outlet pipe. He then pressure tested the lines, etc. He found a leak where the skimmer joins the pool. He gave me a quote for a full skimmer replacement, but said I should try a patch first. I suspected our 16,000-gallon, inground swimming pool was leaking because water had to be added about every three days. A few weeks before, our pool guy did a "skimmer test" and determined there was no leak coming from the skimmer basket. Well, that proved to be wrong. Kevin spent over two hours using all kinds of testing equipment, including putting on a diver's suit and going into the pool to inspect the walls and floor. Our spa has been leaking since we purchased our home in 2003. Over the years I had American Leak Detection out multiple times to locate the problem. Each time, I paid $250-$300 and they assured me my spa was fine and it was simply water evaporation and splash out from the water fall. Recently the water level dramatically dropped. We called two local San Diego companies... 1)San Diego Leak Specialists and 2)Leak Technologies. Leak Technologies was the most prompt in returning our call and scheduling us. The other company took over a week to get back to us. What I liked most when talking with Leak Tech is the guarantee of finding our leak or it was free. The price was more than American Leak Detection, but they actually found the leak. They also said they wouldn't stop with the thorough testing once a leak was found. They continued to search for secondary leaks. For $450 I would know exactly where and what all the spa's issues were. Sure enough, Leak Technologies found the major leak (below skimmer) and pointed out which areas in the spa fountain were troublesome. Kevin, the owner, did a great job explaining our problem and how to fix it. It was only when I asked, did he let me know he could do the repairs. We hired him on the spot. He replaced our skimmer within a week. More importantly, he also made adjustments to our decking which would reduce the chances of the skimmer breaking again. Very disappointed with this company. After spending $650 with them back in December I have determined it was a waste of time and money. I had them do their recommended repair at that time which did not solve the problem. I have tried to have them come back and fix the issue, but they say they are too busy. I thought that I could count on them but obviously not. I would like my money back. I am trying sell my house and this needs to be fixed. I contacted Leak Technologies (1/20/21) regarding water that was flowing from my parent's backyard into their neighbor's yard. We siphoned water from our pool twice and both times the flow of water dried up, only to start again with the pool water returning to the same level it was at before siphoning. That is when I decided to call around to some businesses for help. I spoke with Kevin and explained the issue to him and he kindly let me know that this was actually the opposite issue of what they typically worked on (pool filling rather than leaking). However, he said he could take a look at it and at least pinpoint the problem. He happened to be in the same town as my parent's house and after punching the address into GPS showed up in four minutes. He was able to find the source of the problem, which was determined through a sound test to be water running through the fill valve. The fill valve had deteriorated (my parents have not kept up on maintaining the pool) and was not stopping the flow. He cranked on it tightly and was able to stop the flow and recommended that we use a garden hose to fill the pool from now on, until the valve was repaired. He was also kind enough to mention the specific part we would need to have repaired on the invoice, so that we could provide that information to a plumber or pool repair, in the future. There was an inspection fee but it was totally worth it to work with Kevin who was really knowledgable and professional. read more

Leak Technologies came out to find and diagnose a leak after my pool was remodeled. The leak damage occurred during remodeling. Before coming out, Kevin Jr. of LT walked me through the bucket test process to confirm the problem. He then came out and thoroughly went through the pool piping and equipment. He entered the pool to isolate the problem which turned out to be a broken pipe below a floor drain. He provided a report describing the exact problem and suggested I have the repair completed under warranty by the pool remodeler. After seeing the report, the pool remodeler agreed and repaired the leak by installing new pipe, concrete and resurfacing the area to match the pebble finish. LT charged a very reasonable fee to analyze the exact leak and document the status of my pool plumbing, which provided me confidence about the condition of my pool. I have a custom pool less than 7 years old that has an automatic filler. My water bill has been increasing but I have a grove and assumed I was using more water. Finally I suspected the pool. I did a web search and found Leak Technologies. I followed the directions on the leak FAQ page and my pool was losing an inch of water a day. I called Kevin and discussed the problem with him. He was my first call and spent about 10 minutes on the phone answering my questions even though I told him he was my first call and that I was going to call others. He gave me an estimate on the phone. After thinking about it a day and doing more research I called Kevin back. I called Leak Technologies because my pool had a significant leak, I had 2 other companies come out, but neither could find it. I was reluctant at first because they charge a significant fee just to locate the problem that will not apply to the repair. But after 4months leaking I needed a resolution soon.
