Thanks for wasting my time! Read the good reviews and decided to give them a try. Had an initial consultation. I think there was poor communication the second visit with a different guy. Tenants were about to rent our house for several months, so they needed weekly service. Guy came out, and I was under the impression we would go through the pool water quality together, and what needed to be done. My pool is very easy to take care of as there are no leaves or debris to have to net out of the pool water or filters. I had some left over chemical if he needed to use them that day for that visit ONLY, or if he wanted to use my other chemicals for future visits or their own. Instead, the guy just left without explanation while I had to take a quick call inside, and did not even bother to say goodbye. Yes- I have the correct company. read more

Ryan is our new pool hero! After another pool company (assigned by my Home Warranty) misdiagnosed our pool heater and then delayed us for a week and a half of unfulfilled promises, Ryan from Pro Care Pool Service squeezed us (new customers) into his busy schedule the same day I called to access the problem, order any necessary parts, etc. Ryan discovered that our pool heater WAS working. Now, please note that I was initially hesitant/doubtful. The other company insisted that the wiring was damaged by rats, and we were told NOT to turn it on until they came back to fix it. We did have a rats' nest inside the heater. I asked Ryan to double-check the heater just to be certain. Well, he did that and so much more! Ryan patiently explained everything to me, took pictures and texted them to me to reassure me (I was convalescing in bed upstairs), gave me an honest assessment of our heater and made great recommendations to make our heater "smart wi-if" per my request. Ryan installed my pentair pump and heater system (retrofitted to a pool plumbed in the 80's). It was not a trivial job and he was able to get it done promptly. I give five stars because Ryan has always been responsive and open to troubleshooting over the phone, even now two years after my system was installed. He seems to be the only person around who is knowledgeable and picks up the phone. He walked me through a debugging effort today while driving around and ignoring other phone calls. He also did a significant amount of work attempting to install a new light in my old pool. Probably one of the worst pool services we have had and we have lived here for over 6 years. The pool consistently was green if it wasn't cleaned for one week. The chemicals were always off. I tried to speak with the owner regarding this and he always came back rudely with the water needs to be high. Ok got it the first time it's been high ever since so why is the pool disgusting now? The filter needs cleaning ok let's do that it's still green ??? The last message I sent him once again asking him I see the pool cleaning was missed but why is it disgusting so fast. That has never happened before I asked if maybe it's the new vacuum he had us buy or maybe the pump. He came back with I am not sure again and the water needs to be full. Which it was and I once again communicated that. Then he said it was because his worker couldn't get access on Friday because the dogs were out and he was chased. My husband and I have asked him several times to please text us on arrival so we can bring the dogs in. They never did it they like to try their luck with the dogs then come knock. Half the time we don't answer the door just complete failure to follow our instructions and complete lack of responsibility. He is rude and since my husband dealt with him for a while I thought ok maybe that's how he comes off. Nope he is rude and they do a horrible job I had to keep wasting my time every week just so the pool can be a little clean. Get out of here! To respond to the owner- 1)my husband text you to text him when you come when you first started the service. I will upload the screen shot of that later 2) our gates have never ever been locked we don't even have a lock for the gates. 3) again you wouldn't be chased by dogs if you let us know your there 4) the problem still exists. Why is the pool never cleaned well even when you do come. We have found another service thank you. I am a business owner too and I would never treat a customer like that. I don't enjoy leaving a bad review but we were pretty fooled by the services of this company. First off, we were quoted a monthly cost for weekly maintenance but to our surprise, our first invoice we got hit with an additional charge that apparently is a an annual chemical charge of $125 which was never brought to our attention prior. After having a different pool guy come out to take a look at our pool after we let Ryan go, we were informed our calcium and ph levels were extremely off. He said this is not something that can happen quickly and was like that for some time. So although Ryan made our pool look nice, it was not treated right, even though we paid him to keep up with all of this and of course, we didn't know any better than to trust he was doing that. Part of our weekly charge on his invoice was to "check all pool equipment" which one would think, he would check our DE filter. When I text him about it, he got defensive, as I see he's done in other negative reviews. He claimed he mainly checked for leaks. Seems very backwards to me and you would think that the cleanliness of the filters would be the first thing he would do upon being hired, regardless of how the pool might look. Our filters were not just a little dirty, they were absolutely disgusting. We had to pry to seal open with pliers to open the housing. For 3 months of him servicing our pool and a month and a half of us not having regular service, those filters clogged up but the gentleman who we had come out to take a look said those have been clogged for years. (We just purchased the house 6 months ago). Ryan never notified us they needed cleaning. When I text him recently about it he said the pool "looked great" indicating the filters were fine and he checks those 6 months into a service and after summer season with all the sunscreen buildup. We used our pool 4 times this summer....this buildup did not happen in the last few months. It's hard to believe that our pool was cared for when he would come to our house for less than 7 minutes each time. He would hardly skim our pool, I'd watch him. His invoice included "vacuuming" the pool yet we have a $400 vacuum so that was never something he had to do. Additionally he didn't show up one week, we weren't notified he was out of town either and we had to contact him to ask him if he was coming to clean. He stated he must have forgotten to add us to some list where he would notify customers of his vacations. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and we essentially paid for that week as well. When we hired him, we told him we needed someone who can fix our backyard water feature water pump and also wanted to potentially convert the pool to salt water. Two things he said he can do. Once we hired him, he gave us reasons why those things couldn't be done right now. We are not sure why he told us one thing to get the job and then told us another thing once hired. We feel a bit duped on the service, especially for $130/month coming for 6-8 minutes tops. We feel like we were just a dollar sign and nothing more, not much pride and care in our pools ample functioning but only to make it "look nice".. read more

Upon receiving the report I knew I was going to need a reliable pool guy stat. I reached out to 3 companies highly rated on Yelp and chose Pro Care over the others based on my first phone call with the owner Ryan. First, he answered the phone and spent a few minutes talking to me about my needs. Second, he made time in his schedule to take a look at the pool before we even closed. I emailed him a copy of the inspection report which he reviewed before his own inspection. Third, upon his own inspection he told me what needed to be addressed and what wasn't an issue. This is all before I even paid him a dime or formally committed to him as my pool guy. I was impressed with his "pre-agreement" demeaner and decided to hire him and I'm glad I did. When we first moved in the pool water was cloudy and didn't look inviting. Ryan got our pool sparkling within a few weeks.
