That did not excuse the work or the misdiagnosis, which is why this is not a solid 5 star review. He offered to refund the detailed inspection charge to satisfy me and I agreed. He told me that he would send me a check I asked if he had the address he said yes. I really thought I could give him a positive follow-up for making things right and here we are a month later and I have received the check. He also refunded the charge for what they did fix as part of a good faith gesture which I appreciate very much. The reasons for changing the review to 4 stars are clearly about the integrity of Aaron the owner of Anchor Plumbing. First, not to go into personal details, he shared the reasons he was not available to his team during the repair visit. If he had been available I am positive we would have achieved a much better result. Emergencies are just that. It doesn't excuse the issue. What it does is more important. A small business owner who even looks at the Yelp reviews I have been publishing these many years is reassuring. Especially when we are looking for tradesmen who come into our homes. The fact that Aaron took full responsibility and followed through is gratifying to me and for anyone reading this you can be sure this business stands by their work and they do not ghost their customers when things go sideways Thank you Anchor Plumbing. Excellence in customer service cannot be taught easily many business owners either don't know its importance or they just don't care. They also followed all the rules of our high rise condo association. They also installed new kitchen fixtures and a whole‑house water monitoring and automatic shutoff system, giving us peace of mind against potential plumbing leaks. The repairs tied to the steam generator involved wallboard, tile, and paint, and their team were true artists--matching the tile, textured wallboard, and paint flawlessly. Everyone on the team was professional, respectful, and very pleasant to work with. They were recommended to me by a close friend from my church for whom they had done a similar project a year or so ago. I'm in my mid-60s and have dealt with more contractors than I can count over the nearly 40 years I've been a homeowner. Accurate Leak and Line checks ALL the boxes when it comes to being an excellent contractor. Initial assessment, proposal, communication, implementation, and follow-up were all handled with professionalism, consistency and courtesy. They showed up each day exactly when they said they would. When my personal OCD tendencies showed up and I asked too many questions, Christian, my project manager, responded graciously and respectfully to every question I had. The excavation crew from Deanda Excavation was first-rate with every facet of the digging, tunneling and backfill. They took great care with my yard and house during each phase of their work. The team of AL&L plumbers that handled the actual replacement of all the cast iron with PVC (and it was a TEAM - I think it was at least 6 or 7 plumbers) knocked out the entire plumbing job in a single day, and did it with astonishing efficiency. They went above and beyond in ways I definitely didn't anticipate. For example, they installed two dedicated in-ground cleanouts that never existed at my house before for easy maintenance access at the kitchen sink and half bath drains. If there's ever a clog, it will be easier than ever to clear. When the project was finished, my house and property were undamaged and greatly improved. On the cost side - Accurate Leak and Line charged me the same amount that another reputable contractor had quoted - but the competing quote was ONLY to replace the cast iron plumbing under the house and did not include the long run of pipe (actually two separate runs) from my house to the city sewer service at the alley. Because of this difference in project scope, the Accurate Leak and Line quote ended up being substantially lower than the competing quote. And the job is now 100% done. If you ever need this kind of project done, use these guys! You won't regret it.

Possibly the worst communication I've ever had with a contractor. They came out the first time to "accurately" locate a leak. Told us "accurately" where it was. They said it was necessary to dig through the foundation to this point for around $8000. We approved work. They dug it out, except they stopped right before they got to the leak. For what reason, I won't ever know. They then said it was in a different location and it would be an additional $8000 to get to the "new" leak location. This entire time I tried calling and emailing for details as to why they didn't accurately locate the leak. No explanation. Then without explanation they filled in the hole without coordination with me. Quite poorly I might add. Then sent me a bill. I'm out over $10,000 plus foundation damage they've done. Not to mention the sprinkler system they destroyed. The leak was never located or fixed. Do not make my mistake!

Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

This time right in front of the other contractors working in the home and everyone just looked at him like that's fucked up dude. Shortly after the guy leaves another guy called me who could've been the owner and says that they aren't taking the job. When I asked why, he said his guy that just left said he didn't feel comfortable doing the job. And I said what, why? He said it doesn't matter my guy doesn't feel comfortable doing the job so we're not and you need to find someone else and then hung up. I waited a couple of days for them to come out and then wasted all that time doing the walk through, I felt I was owed an explanation. But of course never got one. So I figured this racist white man couldn't believe that a black man could own such a nice house and didn't believe that I did so much so, he didn't feel comfortable doing the work. That's just crazy! To have a company with the word KLEEN in it you guys sure are DIRTY.
